72 Small bar with hipster decor, only 8 beers o tap, though very good selections, 30+ bottles, a few snacks and the shuffleboard. Interesting but not worth changing your route for. |
78 Interesting place with several rooms, lots of nooks and crannies, and a shuffleboard table. Beer list was solid, as was the service. Just a five minute walk from Dirck the Norseman, so it’s easy to add this place to your itinerary. |
70 Stopped by to check this bar out and it turned out to be a nice break from a fair days walking. Good options on tap with the highlight being a Grassroots beer that was quenching (I had two pours). Friendly lady behind the bar who was chatty but also went about her business. There’s a pleasant patio area out the back for those sunny days. This is very close to Dirck the Norseman so easy to tie in both. |
78 Small-ish bar with decent beer selection. Nearby a few other Brooklyn beer spots so worth checking out if you’re on your way to Dirck (Greenpoint). |
82 A nice little bar in Greenpoint/Williamsburg with interesting decor. The curved wooden bar table is really nice.
The beer selection is not particularly massive, but there will be stuff that most of you have not had (the beers I drank there had less than ten ratings). The bartender was a pretty nice person, and she seemed to be generally familiar with beer and was aware of the reasons why all the beers were chosen to be on the menu. However, she did play nothing but Nirvana for the three hours that we were there (one band wednesdays).
The place was not too crowded on a Wednesday, but it did not feel empty either.
The prices are generally pretty reasonable as well.
I would certainly go again. The food was good. The savory pies were tasty and filling and the pickle plate was pretty tasty. |
88 cool neighborhood joint, with very nice backyard, always a fun selection on tap with some occasional surprises. free shuffleboard table! also free yard games in the back. comfy, relaxing place. |
80 Now this is a nice little cosy bar. A bit off-the-beaten path as far as the happening Brooklyn is concerned. Probably sit not more than 50 people. You can tell a lot of heart was put into setting this place up with a limited budget. Decorated in a fun and different way in an almost naïve childish manner. Nice and original patio in the back. There was 8 taps when I was there which included JP Bam Noire, Captain Lawrence, and such. Good limited selection. Soft hippie rock music playing at relatively low volume. A place I’d like to go back to. |
88 A rare combination of being actually cool bar for non-beer nerds, at least if you live in Brooklyn, with a small but really well thought out and solid beer list with pretty uncommon offerings. They organize the beer list by ABV strength in low, mid, and big. Oh yeah, and they have shuffleboard and a nice outdoor area. |
