(Visited 06/2013): The Scottsdale Yard House is in a shopping mall under a covered drive-up. Parking is available in a large adjacent lot.
The interior is laid out like other Yard House locations. Dark wood and artwork on the walls, with an oval-shaped bar in the middle of the space.
The beer selection at Yard House consists of around 130 taps. As with other locations, there are a lot of macros and common microbrewers represented, along with a couple of regional options such as Four Peaks. Other domestic craft brewers like Coronado, Uinta and New Belgium. Many bottles as well. This location also participates in the "Chalkboard Series", which are limited-edition draughts and bottles from craft brewers..
Service on a weekday evening was good. The server was friendly and efficient.
The food menu at Yard House is pretty consistent across the locations. My colleagues and I split a few appetizers and they were all pretty good.
Overall Yard House, as with many chains, has positives and negatives. Given the convenient location and good chance to find regional brews I would definitely stop by on future visits.
Visited Sep ’09 - this being the only Yard House I have been to, to date (Jan 13).
It was exactly as I’d expected based on other folks reviews for the chain in general.
130 taps but many duplicates and nothing overly exciting or what I’d consider rare. Plenty of new rates though for a non US resident!
The place is built into the main shopping mall in Scottsdale so I dived in for an hour or so on my own whilst the other half shopped, and settled myself in at the bar.
Service was pretty good and the guy recommended one or two offerings to me when I was after a specific style.
I wouldn’t not go back to a Yard House but I wouldn’t actively seek one.
Fine for what they are !
Typical set up here. Lots of tap lines and lots and lots and lots of distance between the kegs and the taps. This is something they seem to showcase too with bright crome piping running along the ceiling. The help doesn’t know beer so it may be difficult to get what you want. I ask for a Racer 5 and the waiter confirmed that I wanted the Bear Racer. What?? What is Bear Racer? The Oskar Blues Gordon (now goes by another name that I wasn’t aware of) was a malty beer, where’d the hops go? The food was good and the prices were a bit high on everything but not crazy high. I won’t be back unless I’m with group already going there as with this current visit.
Good place to come with friends or family. Huge selection of beers. It might not have rare beers, but this is a great place for novices to get introduced to a larger beer world and even snobs can find good beers. Happy hour menu is good with half off items, especially the thai chicken pizza.
Pretty impressive to see all of those taps in one bar. The selection was great, but not a lot of specialty or hard to find beers. Friendly staff and more beers on tap than I have ever seen makes it a fun place to visit.

Huge selection, but you already knew this. Very impressive bar section as every beer is available on tap. I am not sure how often they change selection, but I would imagine it wouldn’t matter too much as you would likely be entertained for several weeks just tasting everything. That being said, a lot of the stuff they serve is pretty common.
There is a deal they call the "six pack" which is a preselected sampler of 6 beers at 5 ounces each. The night I was there the sampler was pretty well diversified with some very simple stuff all the way up to some fairly extreme brews. The one bit I had about the service was that they had a rule about 1 drink at a time and the six pack sampler apparently counted.
In shopping mall off Camelback and is under drive cover so not as easy to locate. Parking is in front lot. Patio in front but under cover. Bar in the center like standard Yard House with tables around edges. Good tab selection of standard west coast selection with some locals. Did not have food. Nice visit, but much better locations in area.
