(Drank straight from the can) Grant Seafood Festival 2016 ... I donít know what this looks like. I donít care. I canít smell much out of this tiny opening, but Iím picking up just a hint of sweet chocolate crŤme or milk chocolate. Medium to full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor offers semi-sweet cocoa and a moderate measure of toastiness. Drinks nutty, toasty and moderately sweet. Crisp, lightly roasty, bittersweet finale. Can courtesy of ygtbsm94!

Pint at Lonerider, ok aroma yeasty grapefruity. Clouded golden orange color, no head or lace moderately sour flavor , medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, mouthfeel bitter finish. Itís ok, flavor best part. Itís strong on grapefruit. Maybe could of been less heavy on it. Fun to try, not having another.

Can (BB May 5, 2017). Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (cocoa powder, toasted nuts, grain), with notes of butter, sour grape candy, plastic, stale coffee grounds. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Phew, pretty doggone dirty aroma on this one. Even the malt odors arenít all that great. Quite foul aftertaste too. Pretty hard to stomach more than a few grimace-inducing sips before dumping poor olí Josie down the drain.

A fantastic middle of the road brown ale. Packed with brown sugar and chocolate powder flavors.a hint of tartness in the finish. Earthy but not dry. Mild hops lay back behind the malt in the finish. Pours hazy brown capped with a two finger tan head. Huts all the style points and all the components meld artfully.

Can. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, good fine crispness. Very light malts bring a pleasant light sweetness. Mild hop skunk leads to lots of cooling pine. Sweet tropical fruits, a little mango and pineapple identifiable. Trace of sherbet. Cooling pine finish brings modest hop spice. Spicy linger. Comes together very well indeed. Lovely light but very hoppy IPA.

Gift from Son The porter poured a opaque black color with tan head and lacing. The aroma of roasted malt and chocolate malt greet you. Nice head retention. Then taste is wonderful chocolate, prunes and some coffee notes. The porter has a medium body with soft carbonation. The finish is wonderful with chocolate and coffee closing out this special porter..

Bottle from a recent trade. 2013 vintage. Pours a stout brown with an off-tan head. Nos is chocolate fudge and chocolate brownie with cocoa and bakerís chocolate. Flavor hits the same with brownie, bakerís chocolate, and cocoa. Medium in body and lingering Belgian chocolate in the finish. A nice beer, all told.

12oz can. Had no idea what this brewery is or anything more than it was a $2 9%abv impy stout. Pours dark brown, almost black, small head. A very mild impy despite being 9%, and full of adjuncts. No acrid black malts, no mineralness, low acidity, and no overbearing coffee. So many negatives not present. Aroma has the cocoa nibs more than coffee. Coffee is mild and just an accent to the beer. Mild and light earthy malts, even a little boggy, light sweetness. Flavor is xcocoa, light coffee brownie. No bigness, nothing extreme. Wowza what a beer.

I mean, OK, fine, I guess. This beer pours copper colored without much foam. The aroma is malty and the flavor is malty, but not really distinct or rich or interesting. Not bright and hoppy enough to be a good lawnmower beer, but the malt just lays there. Itís not a terrible beer but itís really not much of a beer at all.

Lonerider Pistols at Dawn (Barrel Aged)
Rich dark brown coloured body with a two centimetre tall light brown-head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with a very earthy and almost mushroomy scent along with some light alcohol notes. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich roasty flavours dominate with a little bourbon, oak, grain and malt along with oatmeal and some specialty grains. Aftertaste shows a bit more of the complexity with some vanilla, a lot of caramelised sugar sweetness and a touch of the bourbon and alcohol notes that permeate throughout, and make this well rounded! Overall, a nice and rich beer that shows some moderate complexity and depth, while hiding the alcohol pretty well and not showing up too much of the barrels, either. I sampled this ten ounce snifter on draught at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 06-December-2016 for US$6,00 at the end of my driveway!

Below-average IPA for my likes. The beer poured a golden color with a small-ish off-white head. The head did leave some decent lacing around the glass. The body of flavors were just lacking in depth and complexity. I definitely would have liked to have more hops overall.

Draft at Burger Bach in Short Pump, VA The ale poured a hazy amber color with an off white head and lacing. The aroma of floral hops and crystal malts. The flavor was difficult to define. There was a bready maltiness mixed with some hop bitterness. The ale has a medium body with soft carbonation. Just an average IPA it needs more clear definition in the undefined bitterness.

12 oz can, served in a pint glass. Pours slightly hazy orangish amber with thin creamy white head. Aroma is grassy and vegetal hops, sweet nectarine citrus on the back. Taste is sweet toasted caramel malt, hops are dank, grassy, and bitter. Lingers bitter with off notes on the finish. Opens up quite a bit and allows some nice citrusy flavor to show, but those off notes do stand out and limit this overall.
