Wye Valley HPA
Cask handpull at The Kings Arms Abergavenny with mum and Teresa. As Wye Valley HPA. Paired with Rarebit and posh fish and chips. Very pale yellow, clear, few odd bubbles, scummy off white head. Aroma is airy, biscuity, light lemongrass. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is lemongrass, mixed citrus, lemon dominant with some grapefruit. Refreshing lemongrass and soft cracker malts with a slight passionfruit finish. Would drink again. (5-4-6-4-14=3.3)

Wye Valley Butty Bach
Pours golden with no noticeable head. Moderate apparent carbonation. Some cereal, but no strong aroma. Subtle, farily traditional english booze. More about malt and cereal than hops, it is soft and drinkable and nicely balanced. May not be about to win any awards for unusual ingredients or clever branding, but it’s a really pleasant, fruity and straightforwardly enjoyable drink. A touch cloying, true but bizarre to see it rated so poorly on ratebeer.

Wye Valley Butty Bach
One of the best ales around, anywhere in the world. Sounds Welsh, but actually brewed in Herefordshire. i prefer drinking it out of the fridge, not at room temperature. First sip of the night is like nectar, and still tastes good after 4 or 5 at the end of the night. Becoming very popular and widespread in Herefordshire and SE Wales due to the quality, taste and the fact that it is not over-priced. Great alternative to Speckled Hen or Doombar.

Wye Valley Toros
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival ’17. Pale gold with white head. There is a dryish cereal character to this, weetabix with muesli flakes, some bitterness. The dryness lingers but unfortunately no sign of the citrus for me. It’s okay.

Amazing beer that tastes of beer with a hint of beerishness...my glass had beer in it so I drank it and it was yummy...it didn’t have any citrus notes or buttery flavours because it was a beer not a lemon meringue pie...there was a slight aroma of old dog but I think that was the old man sat across from me in the pub with a knackered looking Labrador.

Bottle. Pours pale amber, very soft aroma. Actually, everything is soft, the taste, the look, the smell, the mouthfeel. It’s OK, but inoffensive. Traditional you might say. A bit boring I would say.

Slight yeasty smell from the bottle rather like home brew yeast. Thin head dispersed almost immediately. Distinctive fruity aroma with a hint of melon. Sweet, moderately hoppy flavour with a hint of honey and a pleasant aftertaste.Surprisingly full bodied. I would definitely drink this as a session ale but perhaps the aroma promised something the taste couldn’t quite deliver.
