BFM / La Nébuleuse Degustatoro
375 ml bottle, bottled 10/2016, from Biervana, München.
Deep amber, cloudy body, with a medium, creamy, lacing, yellowish head.
Aroma of bread, sweet dried fruits, citrus, flowers, yeast, some spices, some grass.
Tastes of citrus, dried fruits, flowers, grass, yeast, some bread, some spices, some candy.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, citric, floral, grassy, a bit bready, a bit dry, yeasty, a bit spicy.

Very tasty. Drinks really smooth and greatly balanced, with a lovely combination of citric notes, with the floral/grassy notes and a well dosed sweetness. The herbs are very well integrated, leading to a subtle, fitting impression. Not very complex or unique, but just really quaffable stuff I could drink all day.

Bottle from BFM. Pours murky amber. Aroma is strong barrel, funk, calvados, little acetone, and barley wine maltyness lurking in the background. Body is medium, smooth, and notes of acetone, calvados, barrel, late spicy ginger. Some fruity sweetness, but rather in the background. Palate continues all that and carries the barrel a long time. Sweet and even slightly warming. Good, even if a highly unusual take on a barley wine.

Poured from a 33cl bottle at home into a tulip glass. Getting the same aroma/flavour as I do with many Belgium beers - like banana, but I’ve put it down to Belgium yeast (if someone has any ideas as to what this flavour is, please let me know). Very pale and very hazy yellow. Very strong and lingering wheat flavour (in addition to the above mentioned). Full bodied, slightly sweet and slightly sour. Lacking in carbonation and bitterness.

According to ist label, it is a biére de garde with 5.5% ABV...very hazy pale yellow colour, minimal white head; aroma of peach, barnyard, lemony and balsamic acid notes; taste is the same with some bread...is it really a witbier?...because giére de garde (as iddicated on the label) seems to be more suitable in my opinion

On tap @ Erzbierschof Zürich. Hazy. Dark red orange. Small but dense frothy head. Great lacing. Only true sour I’ve tried so hard to make any comparison. But it reminds me of mead, just more sour. And I live sour. Tried this first from a bottle and it seemed very undercarbonated. From tap is a completely different experience.

Pours a dirty dark orange with an off white head. Aroma is boozy dark fruit and more booze. The taste is sour and tart not real boozy, but than again I don?t think the booze could cut through the tartness. I wish I had someone to help me finish this bottle. If you like sours disregard this rating it?s just to much for me. At the end I couldn’t finish it.

Bottle at home. Hazy light golden with small white head. Light dough and lemon, flowers, light herbs, bread crust, lots of spicy yeast. It has light white pepper, cloves and lemon peel towards the finish. Light sweet and itter and under medium sour. Medium bodied. Nothing like a wit, more a sour saison like the modern US ones. I don’t get the low score at all, this is really my kind of beer! So refreshing, light yet full of flavour. If this was a HF beer people would go nuts for it.
