Mango punches you in the face, then the cloying sweetness hits before fading into a fairly nondescript West Coast IPA. Bitter, resinous finish, but that initial burst of fruit juice kills the beer.

Cool Springs Early Riser Espresso Stout
650 ml. that says don’t age, but has no indicator of bottling date or bb date. Also says 8.2% instead of 6.2% indicated here. I was told at the checkout with this one that the brewery doesn’t bottle anymore, so don’t know how old this one might be. Pour is ebony with a frothy, boiling head that would have been a slow gusher from the bottle without constant attention. Strong nose of espresso with cream and semi-sweet chocolate. Flavor is the same mix with some ash, berry and charred toast. Medium body has way too much fizz but a tasty balance.
