Small Town Not Your Moms Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours mauve with no head. Aroma does suggest strawberry. Med body, nearly. Flavor is rather sweet, tho there’s something like a rhubarb tartness. Flavors seem to be strawberry and rhubarb. Not bad really, but not sure it’s "beer". :)

I am rating this beer in comparison to what’s available not compared to alcoholic beer. Pours a light clear gold color with big head that settled down quickly to a minimal head. Aroma is of yeast and light malts. Taste follows the aroma and has a light mouth feel. Taste slightly sweet . very similar to Pabst Blue ribbon without a slight alcohol smoothness and taste. If you wouldn’t know it you might not no its none alcoholic beer.

I learned that the worse the beer, the more ABV, and the easier to get wasted.

Bottle from my brother. Old school rules! What a perfect example of the old brewing recipes. Dark amber, thick body lazy carbonation, lasting head. Caramelly malts dominate the aroma. Taste even more so, beautifully slick feel, caramel and toffee. No sign of the ABV. This is unbelievable!

12 oz bottle. Pours golden, almost clear, with a white head. Pilsener malt aroma with a touch of honey. Pilsener malt flavor, maybe just enough hops to give it a crispness. Not that bad, really.

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, dried fruit, spice and a hint of earthiness. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, fruitiness and light spice with a smooth lingering caramel finish.

Rainier Pale Mountain Ale
Bottle pours a mostly cloudy copper with a one finger sand head and light lacing. Aroma is pine and light citrus, a bit nasal clearing. Taste is fairly weak, like a watered down pale, nothing special in the flavor but nothing off about it either. Very plain. Bitterness and aftertaste are both light.

He he. Just saw I’ve never rated this. Draft to pint at Pikes pour clear straw yellow with large foamy white head. Nose crystal malt and light skunk. Taste light sweet crystal malt up front, then strong grain and adjunct. Heck, $6 for a pitcher.

Another review gobbled up by the net. This shall be quick.

Pours a very clear, very straw color. Good lacing, good retention. White head, about two fingers.

Arona is corn, sweet alcohol. Grape skin.

Taste is corn and grape skin. Sweet, malty, low hops.

Mouthfeel is medium full. Heavy, sweet. Easy to drink.

Overall, good. May or may not buy again, may recommend. Beer!

Ok guys, lets be real here. This isn’t a meticulously made craft beer. This is a macro Malt Liqour. For being what it is, it’s actually quite good. Bought a 40oz at a local shop. There really aren’t any big problems with this beer. It’s got a nice malty flavor, and a high ABV. It’s a great bargain beer, goes great with a burger.

It’s a terrible pale lager. The only real saving grace to this beer is that it runs at 5.9%, so it’ll get you drunker faster. A friend randomly had one in his backpack, which is why I’ve even tried it.

Clear straw color with storming activity. Slightly creamy and foamy white 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with thick legs. Mostly alcohol aroma. Flavors of corn syrup, sugar, sweet grains, barley, faint herbal spices. Ultra sugary, could easily serve this as an appetizer but it’s too basic to do so. Slick medium body with prickly carbonation. Medium strength finish, highly alcoholic and slightly vinous, very dense malt feel with very soft hops. Feels a little like a barley wine without the ester fruits. Doesn’t taste too bad nor feel too adjunct, but definitely way too sweet. Low freshness while highly warming. Overall mediocre quality craft.

A root beery smell that comes across as more of an extract. There’s a slight note of anise, then a marshmallow taste that happen to I like, followed by a bit of a burn either from alcohol, or herbs that I haven’t run across before. Herbal note shows up at the end of the sampler, plus a background of wintergreen.

"Apr0317" imprinted on the bottom of a 24floz can purchased for ~$1.25 in the St. Louis area. Consumed several times in the past, for this review 01.20.2017. Stag webpage states an ABV of 4.6%. Poured into a standard pint glass. In brief, the main characteristic separating this beer from other macro-style American pale lagers is that it is less sweet. There is a bit of diacetyl flavor too. While it ain’t great, it ain’t not too shabby either for what it’s worth.

Standard pale lagers came into being in the U.S. in the second half of the 19th century as a result of the entrepreneurial efforts of German immigrants, who had quickly picked up on this originally Czech beer style - thus being co-responsible for the rapid spread of the style throughout the world; this is one of those originals, a contemporary of Budweiser, Schlitz and others. May or may not have won an award in Chicago in 1893 - historical documentation seems to fall short - but whatever the case, it grew to huge popularity in the 20th century and, due to takeovers and clever marketing, remained a staple of industrial American brewing till this very day. Loose and bubbly, off-white head, quickly dissolving in the middle but well-retaining on the edges albeit thinly so; cristal clear pale yellow golden robe with hardly any visible fizz, looking as stereotypical as it gets for the style. Aroma of sweaty grains, industrial soap, cat pee, melting rubber (quite sharply sulfuric at first but fading after a while), the overcooked odour of pasteurization, glue, wet rice paper, margarine, corn flour, plastic - nothing very natural, so to speak. Neutral onset as can be expected, sweetish corn and sharper grains, bit papery in the middle, cereally and a tad margarine-like (as in: buttery but in a very industrial manner), with carbonation that remains on the soft side for this style. Both plastic-like and - to a somewhat lesser extent - metallic flavors are added in the middle, but the corn flour factor actually manages to become a little bit bready and doughy in the finish, which is probably the only redeeming factor here; otherwise this beer goes down in a neutral, metallic and totally bland way, watery even due to the total lack of hops. Your average American adjunct lager, with a little more body (or in fact a little more ’corn creaminess’) than that mournfully thin MGD or even Bud, so in this respect not the worst weapon of choice for those who have no other intention than to drink gallons of the least offensive - and cheapest - alcoholic drink they can find, though the aroma remained downright offensive to me. This beer seems to have a kind of cult following in much the same way as Heineken has in the Netherlands or Jupiler in Belgium - clearly the result of clever marketing. With all due respects for the respectable age of this brand, this is very obviously one of those beers the craft breweries acted against in the late 20th century - so in a sense, we owe the current beer revolution, sweeping the whole civilized world in a way I could never have foreseen when I started taking beer seriously, to bland industrial rubbish like this. Glad I got the chance to study it this closely as it is only very scarcely available in Europe, big thanks Ster for bringing me this bottle (bottled in the Milwaukee plant, one of six plants that make it) all the way from America!
