473ml can into glass. Bought at random Surfers Paradise bottlo. Pale yellow beer with thin white head. Light carbonation. Nose is sweet corn and stale malt. Watery, sweet taste. Lingering sour finish. Like drinking sweet alcoholic water.

Great name. Great bottle. Bad beer....but it is about as bad as beer called Lone Star should be...so actually pretty good in that regard.

Bottle. It poured a clear gold with no head. The light aroma was grain - corn, with a light sweet taste. An ok pale lager.

Small Town Not Your Fathers Root Beer (5.9%)
Deep amber to dark brown colored, no head. Aroma is of some vanilla, peppermint, strong enough to feel like mouthwash, some spice, sugary feel to it. Taste is very sweet and sugary, again peppermint mouthwash, vanilla, spices, caramel. Medium bodied, soft to flat. I suppose some people like this kind of stuff... (bottle)

Thanks Ivan P.! Shared with him, kajser and others from their firm. Erm, okay, Dark brown body with an ephemeral brownish head. The aroma is... wow. Never having had actual root beer (I think) I had no idea what to expect. My friends insisted it was Listerine, but I haven't really smelled that either. But I'm quite sure I'd experienced that same taste in some toothpastes I've used randomly here and there. Sorta like bubblegum, vanilla underneath and sweet. Whatever sweetness there was in the aroma (and there was plenty, it's exponentially larger in the taste, especially when it warmed. I actually dug this "root beer" taste (won't even try to venture a guess if it's sassafras or sarsaparilla), accentuated by the vanilla, but in the end it was too sweet to bear. Surprisingly respectable, different, but... I completely and utterly see and respect people not liking this at all.

LeChuck beware!

Bottle. It should be noted that it says "desert beverage" on the label, but nowhere does it say beer. Because it isn't. Horrendously sweet and artificial, Joilly Rancher Apple candy and heavy cinnamon. Fuck no.

Small Town Not Your Father's Mountain Ale
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/15/2017. Pours hazy pale golden straw color with a small foamy white head that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. No lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus zest, and white sugar. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus fruit and sugary sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus zest, and white sugar. Very mild citrus tartness and citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus zest, and white sugar on the finish for a while. Nice robustness and balance of citrus fruit and sugary sweetness; with minimal cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, fairly slick/syrupy, and slightly acidic/sticky mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a solid fruit beer. All around good robustness and balance of citrus fruit and sugary sweetness; very smooth and quite refreshing to drink. Tastes exactly like Mountain Dew, which was what I expected out of it. An enjoyable offering.

Pours a clear, thin golden with a full, smooth white head. The aroma isn't strong, though its lightly floral, a little buttery, and has hay and corn. The taste has a faint sweet touch to it. Flavors are basically identical to the nose except that its even more floral. However, the overall taste is milder than what the aroma offered. Minimal floral finish. Light in body and thin in texture. This one is on the low end of the macro spectrum.

From May 2008 Ok, I saw this at a local liquor store and thought I'd try it. I'm not expecting much... Woah. It turns out to be worse than I thought it could be. It doesn't look half bad in the glass but whilst hoisting said glass to my nose and mouth, I got a whiff of an atrocious smell of what? Stale corn? Chemically stale corn? Whatever it is, it put me off right from the get go. Taste? I sure didn't have any when I decided to pick this up. Nasty semi sweet flavour of rotting grain? I kid you not, this absolutely sucks and is most assuredly a drain pour, I really can't imagine a market for it. "nuff said.

Pint can pours a clear amber with a large khaki head. Aroma of fruity toffee caramel malt with light yeast. Taste is sweet and fruity, rich caramel and toffee, nutty, with drying yeast and light hop. Suprisingly well made, not bad.

10/27/17. 12oz bottle from Warehouse, Albany. I'm willing to tick anything and this was one of those regretful ticker moments. This stuff is disgusting poison in a glass. Just NO. NO THIS SHOULD NOT EXIST. Neon green pour, no lasting head. Really one didn't form - just sort of a soda pop sizzle. Sickeningly sweet aroma, fake sweet alcoholic Mt. Dew. Super sweet flavor, tastes like neon green and wolf pussy, really nothing like Mt. Dew at all, which is what I assume they were going for. Whoever thought this passed the test was dead wrong. Disgusting.

2016 bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber with a full, off white head. The aroma is potent and sweet, consisting of heavy toffee and spice, vanilla, toasted malts, fig, and some alcohol. The taste is extremely sweet. Its almost a deal breaker for me, but there is enough of a boozy flavor to counter it. There are lesser elements of toffee, fig, raisin, and spice in here as well. Boozy toffee aftertaste. Its full in body and has a thick texture. I wasn't very impressed initially with this one, but its really growing on me the more I'm drinking it.

If not for the cult following of this "beer", it would have been gone long ago. Some people seem to enjoy drinking this kind of "beer". Not much taste, no flavor, flat is the best way to describe it. Hops? Sure, all USA beers have that stuff by the bucket because it gives their "beer" longer shelf life. Longer shelf life???????? What happened to the screams for "fresher" beer by all the craft beer crazies?????????????????? They seem to forget that when the price is lower. I cant see drinking any more of this, even if it is the last can of beer on earth.

Pre-pour thoughts. They have Not Your Father line, Not Your Mother line...They probably should have called this "Not Your Grandfather's"

Pours a very yellow green color. A little more yellow than Mt. Dew. Fizzy white head that goes away quickly.

Aroma is grapefruit. Smells like grapefruit soda, like Squirt.

Taste is sweet. Tastes like 2/3 Mt. Dew and 1/3 Squirt. Not bad.

Mouthfeel is sticky and sweet. Medium light bodied. No alcohol taste at all. Leaves Vitamin C drop aftertaste.

Overall, it's enjoyable. Nothing more to say really. I'm neutral on whether I would recommend it. One and done, I don't feel the need to buy it again.

Can. Pretty well going to just copy and paste my rate for Schaefer Light, cause there really isn’t a whole lot of difference. There’s maybe a slightly more offensive corn flavor to the regular version, but more or less, this is the same crappy beer. Light rate: Can. Pours a clear pale straw body with a large fizzy white head from an aggressive pour. The nose is corn and wet grain with zero hop presence. The flavor is pretty watery and inoffensive, with a mercifully short finish. About what you’d expect from an old guard pale lager. I’ve had a lot worse. 3/5/5/3/10

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 16 ounce can into dimpled mug, canned on 7/12/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/grassy earthiness. A bit fruity/yeasty, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Fairly clean on lager flavors; a tad fruity/yeasty. Slightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is a very nice Oktoberfest. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter finish. This is a nice take on the style, though a tad too caramelized. Very rich and complex Munich/Vienna flavors; with just enough hops to balance the sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

From Jun 2007 This pours in glass a yellow gold with a small head of foam that shrinks quickly leaving a fine layer. The smell is a mix of malt and corn. The taste is semi sweet; there's some malt and grain going on with some hop character that bitters it but the flavours are light on the palate. I haven't tasted this for years and I'm sure I'll not taste it again for many more years to come. Just too damn common and bland.
