Arcadia Barrel Aged Cereal Killer
Sample from 2011 bottle during Blarney Wine Festival 2017 on 03/18/2017. The beer is a cloudy reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, malt and dark fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, figs, caramel malt and yeast. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Hop Cat in Madison. Black pour with a beige head. Aroma has great coffee. Subtle chocolate, other malts. Taste is a bit of a muddle; chocolate, bitter coffee grounds, caramel. Medium bodied with a touch of alcohol, the blend is decent. Finishes quite bitter. Great start, but doesnít complete. 13.5

Arcadia Imperial Stout
Bottled, 2016 vintage. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is lots of roasted malt, some chocolate, a little thin maybe for the abv. Very roasty. Flavor is heavy roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee bitterness, spot of plum. Again, body is a little thin, perhaps overcarbed. Itís fine, but it really doesnít stand out to me in any way.

Arcadia Apollyon
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/20/2017. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lemon, pear, orange, peach, apricot, apple, pepper, light banana/clove, honey, candi sugar, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, orange, peach, apricot, apple, pepper, light banana/clove, honey, candi sugar, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery/spicy and lightly tart/tangy yeast on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, pear, orange, peach, apricot, apple, pepper, light banana/clove, honey, candi sugar, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hops flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from spicy/tangy yeast, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/grainy/bready, and lightly sticky/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 9.3%. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong pale ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink for the big ABV. Pretty unique from using their house English yeast strain, but it still hits the style character really well. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Turbid, rusty-amber pour, medium off-white head with decent retention. Nose is sticky candy, stone fruit, figs, caramel, melon. Mouth is big and oily, medium bitterness cutting through a large sweet palette of caramel, fruit (oranges, figs, dates). Long day so Iím not really doing this justice, but itís a decent barleywine and Tony the tiger should be proud to share his town with Arcadia. Theyíre great!

A very nice barleywine. Pours a deep red with a tan head. Smells great, cereal and lots of strawberries and other berries. Taste is very berry fruit, strawberries, and bright candy, and cereal. Fizzy, bright, smooth finish. Paired with spicy shrimp stacks, the fruitiness is cut down a bit. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Arcadia Rapunzel
Clear golden coloured body with a small amount of orange tint and a small tan head, about a centimetre tall. Aroma of citrus, hay, grass, wheat, perfume and a good deal of tropical fruit sweetness. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and floral hoppiness up front with a mellow malt note and a big dose of tropical fruits and nice freshness of coriander seed. Aftertaste shows a subdued freshness along with a good grassy and herbal finish without much body or pungency. Overall, a nice beer without a pungent bitterness or malty flavour, but a freshness along with some good hop bitterness. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Meijer in Dearborn, Michigan on 11-December-2016 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on 31-January-2017.

Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero lingering hop/rye astringency after the finish. Sweet tropical finish and after.

Bourbon galore & itís fantastic! Beautiful black pour w/ a lasting tan head & nice lacing. The aroma is primarily bourbon w/ some oak & vanilla coming through. The flavor is mainly slightly sweet bourbon, booze, & a hint of porter bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is very light yet itís still a sipping beer. Powerful & worth the $7 for a 12 oz bottle experience!

12 ounce bottle, 10/10/16 stamped on the bottle so Iím assuming thatís the bottled on date. Served in a Spiegelau Stout glass, the beer pours a very dark brown color with around a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like coconut, dark chocolate and roasted malt. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma. It reminds me of a Mounds bar, with the dark chocolate and coconut flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís a bit slick and thin, but also smooth and easy enough to drink. Moderate carbonation. If you like coconut in your brews, then give this one a try, I liked it. $1.69 for a single bottle at Meijer.

12oz bottle from the local Meijer. Tannish brown pour with a tan head leaving little lace. Aroma has sweet malts, cane sugar and coconut. Taste is of sweet malts, big raw sugar cane, coconut, some brown sugar and some cocoa. A bit rough Lighter than medium bodied with soft carbonation. There is a touch of an alcohol presence and the blend is decent but no better. Finishes quite sweet with a coconut tang. Shrug? In line with most of Arcadiaís stuff.
