Rivertown Ojos Negros
Tap pour at local BA Tap Takeover - orange-gold pour with a moderate white head - aroma is funky, but sweet and full of berry notes - a bit of wine character is notable as well. Pretty solid, as the berry feels authentic on the nose. Flavor is puckery sour - this kicked a bit harder than expected (not in a bad way) - the blackberry flavor is quite strong and enjoyable - very vinous - just a roller coaster with this one, as it is quite sour, but not one-dimensional in any way. Palate seems appropriate - quite mild carbonation...solid!

Rivertown Night Marcher
22 oz. bottle from Market Wines. Pours a cloudy gold with a small white head that settles into a ring. Bretty funk throughout, with pineapple, melon, mango, citrus zest, florals, pale malts - delivers on its promise. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a funky, fruity, mildly bitter mouthfeel. I have no idea what a regular IPA from these guys tastes like these days. Just use wild yeast, throw in some fruits, and youíve got a funky, fruity, pretty tasty IPA instead. Whatever works.

12 oz. bottle indicates 4.0% abv and has no date stamp. Clear golden with a disappearing head. Nose is watermelon candy, as promised. Flavor is the same plus a touch of sour to make it actually enjoyable for a bit. Some mineral notes provide a mild astringency. Light body has medium-plus carbonation and a good balance. Not much if your a strict Berliner fan, but I canít remember having a Watermelon beer that I enjoyed more.

Rivertown Soulless
Clearish, nice ruby and muddied brown coloured body with a faintish, two centimetre tall, that fades fast, light tan head. Aroma of sour grapes, a hint of cherries, some oak and yeast along with the funk, but mostly a malty and dry fruity kick in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong pungent oak and light sour funkiness with the cherries and grapes the most flavourful, coupled with some malt, earth, oak and vanilla, even, but the sourness shows through and itís slightly elegant. Aftertaste has a relatively mild blend of the yeast, oak, cherries, sourness, funk, malt and a touch of sweetness on the end. Overall, definitely not as bad as I was expecting, but not an amazing beer, either. A good beer that should be sampled if you can find it, and especially if you like sours, since this one comes from THIS side of Vleteren. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), on 01-October-2015 for US$2,25 sampled almost a year later on 23-September-2016 at home in Washington.

Bomber bottle. Poured clear dark copper color with medium frothy off-white head that was that lasted with excellent lacing. Solid complex sour citrus and west coast hop aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture with soft carbonation. Medium to full citrus, malt and sour flavor with a sharp bittersweet & sour finish. Good brew.

12 ounce bottle from phaleslu. Thanks! The beer is a clear copper with a white head of foam. The head fizzes away very quickly. The aroma is papery and a little white peppery. Some spice esters come through, but just faintly. The taste is moderately bitter, but mostly sweet. Bitterness kicks in toward the finish. Medium body and medium to high carbonation. Donít know why the head didnít stick around any better than it did.

Half growler. Light haze on the orange-amber body and a disc of creamy bubbles on top. Nose is resin, citrus, soap and earthy toffee. Tastes of toffee, resin, toast, green herb, pineapple and orange. Finish has some mint and lemongrass. Medium-heavy body has a pleasantly smooth low-medium carbonation and a nice dry slant given the big maltiness. Only quibble is something in the hop mix seems to accentuate the abv on my tastebuds and it tastes like more than 8.5%

12 oz. bottle. Lightly hazy copper-brown with a thin film of bubbles. Pleasant nose of brown sugar, dark fruit with cream and red wine, but very little sour. Taste is the same with some salty leather and a light touch of tart fruit. Oak and prune in the finish is nice, and it gets a little more sour fruit as I delve further. Medium bodied with light-medium carbonation and a decent balance, if sweet for the style. This is pretty tasty and not really a failure as a very drinkable beer, but definitely needs tweaking if you want to call it a Flanders-style sour.

Bottle. Nose sour and right proper lactic, some dirty gym socks in the background but by no means weak, and thereís some subtle lemony-wheat fruit. Pour clear and lightly dulled golden, sort of a bronze pall, with a head thatís faded to nothing after two seconds. Taste is hard-tart, not quite sour, has some municipal tap water you might find in a bathroom sink of a convention center or large market hall, fruit is there but not redemptive in any way; not metallic but the hard minerality prevents entry. No bitterness and limited sweetness, medium-full body on the whole. Not bad, but not great, either; one for mixing fruit juice, tbh. [2016.09.04: 2.6]

Bottle from VE, mine claims 4.0% abv. Nose is intense, syrupy watermelon a la extract, pour a perfectly clear yellow-golden, sort of fresh brass that hasnít seen any seasoning, and the short white head lasted barely three seconds before disappearing. Taste is pleasantly tart (not sour) but thin, all pretense of malt stripped away, some mild yeasty-bready finishing touches which I quite like, and nice, suddenly restrained watermelon throughout, buttressed by a very pleasant tannic foundation that suggests the seeds. Slightly heavy medium body, but flat and narrow, they really let the yeast take this one down without putting anything else back in. A tough one for me to rate -- itís got great refreshing qualities, can be drunk in relatively large quantities (because itís clear-headed, quite dry, and crisp, rather like a white wine, not because of the slight alcohol), and contrary to initial impression has found a wonderful balance in marrying the watermelon to the beer, absolutely the right amount. The problem is the beer itself; I donít judge by style or mind in the slightest any deviation from rich BW tradition, but this is a dry alcopop. Still worth buying. [2016.08.30: 3.2]

Bottle from VE. Nose sour balsamic, malt. Pour a rich, bright copper that attracts ruby and mahogany character as it fill the glass, beige head is quickly gone. Fizzy-crisp but heavy medium body seems like a wall of pure water mixed with less malt than is necessary; good subtle wood and smooth light lactic, touch minerally, low bitterness and low sourness (more of a ítartí, certainly no pucker), but also very slightly dry (that they didnít back-sweeten is a credit to sense). Brown malt and mild sour cherries, developing cola, finish holds onto the cola and that improved wood quality. Itís a curiosity to me that something so heavy can feel watery. Ultimately a disappointment, but perhaps a good first step. [2016.08.30: 3.1]

12oz bottle (4% ABV per the label on the bottle) - nose is candy watermelon flavor for the lack of a better term. I rarely eat raw watermelon and am more familiar with the candy version. Very fruity nose. Sip adds less sweetness than is expected from the nose. Not the worst rendition Iíve had of the style. I like that I can relate to a familiar flavor: the watermelon. Mild sourness. I expected worse, but this was alright. light and fruity.
