Lagunitas Equinox Ale
Pineapple and cut grass in the aroma with a bit of dank earthiness too. Slightly hazy orangy gold with a finely laced white head. More pineapple juiciness along with a cloying mushroom and hay bitter flavor that’s not bad, just persistent. The body is very creamy and velvety I’m guessing from the oats. The alcohol has a nice bite as it’s juxtaposed with the pineapple sweetness. Finishes sweet and bitter with a lasting earthy/leafy taste.

Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot (WTF) Ale
This is fantastic. This is definitely a big ol imperial brown ale. It’s an absolute malt and coffee bomb and it’s 100% delicious. It’s has a huge brown sugar aroma which is amazing, and a nice roasty maltiness that just dominates. It’s super sweet, super tasty and just an overall malt bomb, but in a good way. It’s how I would want malt to be presented in a beer. I love how lagunitas pumps out these beers that are so delicious, but so reasonably priced. It blows my mind. Just another testament to how awesome they are. Cheers! Pick up this malt monster now.

Lagunitas The Waldos’ Special Ale
One of the dankest and hoppiest brews out there. This is for sure one Lagunitas’s finest efforts. Aroma is fantastic and the hop flavor bursts through just the way it should in all IPAs. Cheers to Lagunitas on this special beer.

Hop aroma and flavor are top shelf! Aromas of citrus and papaya with lots of grass and supporting tropical aromas with a hint of coconut. Hazy very pale yellow, little head. Flavors reflect aroma but no graininess and Lott malt character. Mild sweetness. Very clean, super clean! Dry lingering bitter finish. Overall excellent showcase of hops.

Lagunitas ScareCity #3: High West-ified Imperial Coffee Stout
On tap at Barleys. Pours jet black with minimal head which dissipates almost instantly. Aroma is barrel, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is vanilla and coffee up front, followed by chocolate and coffee. Medium-full bodied with a viscous mouthfeel. Overall an excellent barrel aged coffee stout, and for what I saw six pack prices selling for, one hell of a good deal.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Bright clear golden color with the lazy white head you expect from Lagunitas. Aroma is grapefruit, pineapple, pine (the tree, not the apple from said tree), toast. Flavor has bready malt, light toast, medium hoppiness, citrusy and piney. Lighter feel, nicely crisp. Enjoyable SIPA.

Lagunitas The Down Low
$4 22floz bottle purchased in St. Louis without freshness dating. Consumed for the first time from a pint glass 01.20.2017. Light in color, light in flavor, light in body, but has ever present musty herbal hop aroma. A sessionable ale, it’s like water steeped in hops. Pomelo is the chief discernible citrus flavor to describe this beer. Pretty well done, but for when I would want this kind of beer it might not be available or I would be more budget minded (Yes I know it’s not an expensive brew). Sometimes ratings don’t tell the whole story. I consider this an "everyday" or gathering kind of brew, best suited in the $12-15 per 12-pack range. I’d gladly enjoy this beer more if it was widely available and at an economical price. If only I could determine which IPAs should sold on shelves and drafts (and at what price point).

Lagunitas Stoopid Wit
Bottle sent for review. What I have poured here is a hazy beer, with a note of gold or brass to it, hazy of course, under a rocky head. The glass helps concentrate a nose of easily discernible West Coast hops that are not quite in there for the Wit style, but certainly for the Lagunitas style. The taste rolls in more like a pale ale than anything Belgian style. With most wheat beers, I can claim that the wheat in the malt gives it a note of spiciness, but that is hard to track here just because of the extra hop bill. The beer’s mouthfeel, though, is a little thicker than many summer wheats, and it has a touch of honey, or extra malt, that make this even less of a beer to have in the middle of your weekend outdoor chores. You usually expect a citrusy note just from the yeast in a wit, without having to emphasize it with a lemon slice. But Stoopid Wit has just a touch of citrus, mainly from the hops, but after a few sips, there’s a bitter aftertaste on the tongue that’s more in line with a German noble hop, or the rowdy bitterness of Northern brewers. This bottle does have the traditional yeast dregs at the bottom for further conditioning. As I swirled the last of the bottle into my glass, the beer became cloudier, of course. The taste became a bit brighter, like a German lager, and just a little more savory. At least there’s no "dead yeast" character here, which probably stems from having the beer fresh.

6-pack from LCBO. Beautiful deep orange pour with a lush cap of creamy foam on top. Grains are deeply present & add a nice complexity to this. Lots of sugar. Pronounced dry hops. Good stuff, if not a tad over rated in these parts.

Bottle. It poured a cloudy amber color with a white head. The aroma was of malts, herbs and pine. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, herbs, pine, biscuits and some herbs. The hops are subtle, but still a nice drinkable beer.

On [email protected]’s hofbrau San Leandro: pours black, opaque with unstable light brown foamy head. Aroma: straight bourbon, roasted grain, cocoa, daRk malts, dark fruits esters. Flavor: roasted grain, dark malst with notes of chocolate, coffee, cocoa powder, supported with dark fruits esters, vanillin & straight intense sheery-like bourbon note. Finish is dry, body full, texture soft, carbo low. Very good aging potentials.

Lagunitas Sucks
Bought this as a single at the neighborhood supermarket. I held off trying because of the name. Typical Lagunitas, messing with me. I poured into a pint bar glass finding a dark yellow presentation with a pearlescent white foam. The scent is tricky but interesting. I detect pine and then something else, a sweet smell? The taste is really fine, I would call it hoppy but that cannot be right. Grainy but in a good way and also toffee with tropical fruit. Light on the bitterness and dry at the end. Guess I will have to buy a sixer before it is gone.

Lagunitas A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale

So this is pretty awesome. It’s tart, but not too much to where your tongue bleeds. And not that I really mind, I’d drink a sextuple ipa if it was available so it’s not really the extreme factor, it’s mainly that most sours taste shitty. Especially Gose’s, which are in my opinion, the lamest beer style everyone is trying to create. I really like this because it’s tart, borderline sour, but still tasty. There’s not much aroma except for lemon, but the taste is actually hoppy and definitely tart. Not bad at all. This is way better than most.

Lagunitas CitruSinensis Pale Ale
Shared 12 oz. bottles poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a presentable layer of white head, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was fruity but somewhat artificial scent of Kool-Aid-like sweetness, soft grain, and citrus as orange, with some lemony tanginess. Light to medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste was similar notes, adding citrusy bitterness, with as bit of rind-like astringency that lingered, hidden alcohol, and continued tartness & tanginess. A decent, fruit-centric Pale.

Deep and dark orange, like prunce juice. You don’t see a ton of these kinds of dark ales all that much these days. It looks like a TRUE Oktoberfest. Aroma is very sugary. Heavy raisin/prune component. A touch of plastic/phenols but that may be due to an Oktoberfest being consumed in January. The flavor is very sweet and sugary, but with a bitter-cherry end. There is a surprising hop that adds a nice, mild woody complexion. A creamy, chewy finish. It’s a good, malt-forward "change of pace" beer among the hop bombs and sours you tend to see. The sugary aspects of it are well-balanced to prevent it from being a malt bomb.
