Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation . Flavours were fruitiness, pine, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice hoppy pale ale with strong bitterness.

Cask at the Express Tavern. A black pale ale makes a change I guess. It’s actually a very deep red-brown with a lacing head, a pleasing hoppy treacley nose, and a roasty-bitter body. Like a light BIPA. Nice.

Cask at Egham Beer Fest, 13/04/17. Thin boozy aroma. Darkest brown. Cream off-white head. Sweet. Spiced stewed fruit. Light bodied. Slick. Relatively abrupt finish. Slips down. Would have liked a warming sensation from the booze, but didn’t get it.

Cask at Egham Beer Fest, 13/04/17. Sweet yeasty aroma. Dark brown. Thin off-white head. Sweet. Prunes. Light. Watery. Soft carbonation. For an ABV of this much it slips down well. However kinda bland and kinda unsophisticated.

Kent Session Pale
Cask. A very gentle session pale ale with a quite ethereal aroma and flavour of citrus and red fruit hops. A perfect light golden appearance and low head were matched with an easy mouth feel. Maybe this should have been drunk at the start of the evening to gain full appreciation, but it was very good.

September 17, 2015 - at Holborn Whippet; cask. Looks great - deep refractive brownish red with a lasting small tan foamy head. Interesting aroma - light treacle/molasses, coffee flavoured toffee, background medium roast coffee bean, a little bit of dry bitterness to drive down the sweetness some. Taste is quite earthy, I assume the water used was quite mineral-laden - has a sharp, almost iron bite to it - definitely less sweet than the aroma ... very light alcohol as well, plus some acidity from one of those classic UK hops (no idea which). Light and airy body - almost watery, a tad under-carbonated, finishes dry and almost gritty - those minerals really emerge in the aftertaste. My only complaint would be just a wee bit too thin.

Cask at The Bell - Walthamstow. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. The aroma holds moderate roast, some coffee grounds, cocoa. Light sweet flavour with more roast, harsh ashy bitterness, scorched earth, baking cocoa, some pine, grapefruit. Light bodied with soft carbonation; not the best condition. Finishes with some vegetal notes, more harsh ash, moderate astringency, citrus peel, lime zest. A little sketchy overall.

Light fruity aroma. Pale, a touch flat., brief head. Very light palate, not sign of 6% here - it’s even a quaffer by feel. Light malty base, and a nice characterful mix of fruity citrussy aromatics. Has a nice bitter bite too. Seems to be aiming for the West-Coast IPA taste, and doing it with wonderful finesse.

Cask at Akkurat, 11/28/16.
Dark chestnut, but bright allowing lighter ruby hues to shine through. Large beige head is well-retained.
Very fruity in the yeast department, with soft, fruity, mildly citric hops as well. It works well with the lightly chocolatey but predominantly base malt character of the nose. Some light, crunchy brown bread-like character and otherwise strong cleanliness.
Malty and yet nicely dry, with a substantial malt texture, tight but low carbonation and low specialty malt character, thankfully. There’s some brown bread, hazelnut and light chocolate, but that’s the extent. Vanilla, honey, marmalade, plentiful red fruits (yeast) and more brown bread round out the flavorful finish. Very nice stuff!
