Keller Special Pale Ale
Bottle from Beer Market, about a year old. Very little head over hazy light honey color. Aroma of dry white wine and vegetable. Taste of slight bitterness upfront, resolving to some rotten orange and sour grapes. Almost no finish. I tasted this beer at Beers 2012, but didn’t get a chance to rate it then. I do remember it being quite different, so I suspect my bottle is old and possibly spoiled.

Stable tan head over hazy copper body. Aroma of honey malts and alcohol, hops basically absent, smells like a Belgian strong ale. Tastes sweet and full bodied. Caramel and honey, again very low hop flavor, possible oxidation. Palate cloying and sticky. All in all, not very good. My bottle was dated best until 10.2012 (in less then a month) so it’s possible it’s old. Batch ref number 120327, if anyone wants to check. I’ll try to re-rate this beer if I find a fresher batch.
