La Socarrada Cervesa Artesanal Premium
330ml bottle from the shop, drunk at home. Pours thickly cloudy with a short-lived frothy head, lacing but no bead. Aroma of rosemary with hints of green apple. Lively at first in the mouth but no development; it soon feels soapy and sour and never really fills the mouth with either texture or flavour. Quite sweet with gentle bitterness mixed in with the sourness. Overall, unusual and good in parts, but sadly lacking in others.

Kuparin värinen lasissa. Tuoksu on aika makea, hieman humalainen ja maltainen. Maussa on kuivattuja hedelmiä ja hiven humalaa. Ihan hyvä lager.

Hazy orange colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some floral notes with obvious sweet orange too. Loght yeastiness adds a touch of complexity.

Mediterrane Noten von Kräutern und (mit ein wenig Beeinflussung durch das Etikett) Salz. Dazu eine leichte Süße und ein Hauch Bitterkeit. Gut ausbalanciert, insgesamt dennoch recht wässrig. Exzellenter Marketing Coup.

Bottle. Gusher. Red brown colour. Aroma and flavour have some sweet dried fruits especially raisins. A barrel aged beer with such low alcohol is a new one for me. Very flavoursome though.

La Socarrada Er Boquerón
330ml bottle from the shop, drunk at home. Pours thickly cloudy with a long-lasting foamy head, heavy lacing and a fizzy bead. Dirty golden yellow in colour. Aroma of yeast, wheat, banana and metal with a slight floral fruitiness. Smooth and creamy on the palate with typical hefeweissen flavours mixed in with metallic elements and a strong yeastiness, some metal/saltiness especially on the finish. High carbonation and quite a bit of sweetness. Overall, unusual, but drinkable despite the seawater gimmick.

Amber colour, with a small head that fades soon, leaving a small lace. SMoky aroma, with notes of oranges and grapes. Medium body, too much carbonation. Rough and thick palate, taste is fruity, grapes, red fruits but astringent.

La Socarrada Cervesa Artesanal Premium
Bottled, 330ml from R. Campbell & Sons, Leyburn, N.Yorks. Amber with short lived white head. The honey is pretty dominant in this, both on the nose and in the flavour, really quite sweet and sticky. It is herby with rosemary with also a note of spruce. Not a great beer but it's okay.

Cuerpo medio.

September 2017 - Bottle share at Leighton's. Huge thanks! As 'Toro', a sherry barrel aged lager. Pours dark reddy-orange amber, translucent and still with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, breads. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is toffee, a little thin and papery, not much in the finish. It's a bit wishy washy and I'm not getting the sherry but it's inoffensive. (4-4-4-3-10=2.5)

August 2017 - Tasting at Leighton's. Huge thanks! Bottle, as 'Premium Beers From Spain Curado'. Golden orange, clear and still, foamy off-white head leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is airy, crackers, quite clean but basic. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is crackers, biscuity, little spice. Not bad actually. Slightly better than expected. (4-4-4-4-12=2.8)

Hackney Bottleshare. Thanks to Danny. Almost clear amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Light malts, sweetish with some cream and caramel. Mellow ripe fruits. Touch of paper on the finish, nothing serious. Sherry barrel? Well there is some caramel and ripe fruit here. Not bad.

Socarrada orange saison
bottle from el corte ingles, las palmas cloudy yellow, small white head. Nice sour (not citrussy, clearly sour) aroma, notes of malts and yellow fruits. flavor of rubber, oranges, sour beer, dough, faint belgian wild yeast. lots of flavors from brewing errors and infection, but the end result is quite okay, if you are into sour rubbery stuff.

La Socarrada Er Boquerón
Nice continuous foam. This blonde ale is brewed on sea water from the Mediterranean Sea in Catalonia, Spain. This ale offers fresh aroma of cereals and also has a mineral flavor which may well be a residual salt of sea water. It is not decidedly salted in the taste, it tastes more sulfur, black pepper and juniper berries. The hops bitterness is tender and no significant hops have been used in this ale. However, the hops are dosed in the right amount to set a fine edge for its malting so that the mineral impressions enter the character. Carbonation is perfect and contributes to long aftertaste. I'm pretty sure it will be absolutely perfect for seafood and fish.

33cl bottle at Beer Shooter, Cartagena, Spain. Pours hazy, somehow dense, slightly pale gold with white medium irregular foam. Aroma is regular cereal, plus, when warmer, some minerality. Body is average with appropriate carbonation. Taste is not too sweet, with moderate bitterness, and again some harder mineral feeling left in the mouth. Finish is not interesting.

More grain and bread malts, dark molasses, caramel, soft to medium carbonation, medium bodied. Boring Lager, yet inoffensive. Bottle shared at Leighton’s - thanks to The_Osprey!

Thanks Fred for this bottle that you take from Valencia. We share this beer at your home, Petit-Lancy. In my point of view, it is a surprisingly good beer, original and perfectly refreshing for the summer. The body is yellow/orange and troubled, thin and white foam, normal carbonation, a bit sparkling. The taste is malty, bready, honey and rosmarin, some hop and the taste is well balanced, not heavy and a perfect pint to eat one typical and authentic paella of the region.

La Socarrada Er Boquerón
Strong carbonation. Initial light sweetness with a strong astringent finish. There is an unusual suggestion of the ocean in a good way. It isn't salty, despite what the label might make you fear. This would pair very well with extremely fresh seafood. I give this a little extra credit for it coming from Spain, because this is not a nation of great beers, generally. This is actually one of the best beers I have ever had from that part of the world.

33cl bottle. Pours a beatiful reddish brown with nice brilliant reflections and limited white foam, very fine. Looks almost like a barley wine. In the aroma the liquor feeling from the sherry barrel aging is very evident and dominating, but still pleasant. Body is average or slightly light, with a small bite of acidity as soon as the beer enters the mouth. Taste is partially sweet, low bitterness, some entering sourness. Finish is relatively long and alcoholic. Surprisingly, this beer is only 5.5 degrees (the relatively thin body maybe sells it).

330ml bottle. Gusher. Pours hazy orange, fizzy white head. Aroma is citrussy, flowery, malty, bit tart. Taste is citrussy, refreshing with sour toutch, mildly hoppy. Saltiness in finish. Medium bodied, overcarbonated. Taste is good, but massive overcarbonation ruins it for me, BB is next year.

Aromas a grano.

Well it is certainly salty but not in a bad way. Sweet salt perhaps? Yes probably a golden ale underneath this flavour and in reality quite a modest beer. Still interesting enough the salt drives a fantastic plank of tangy fruit right through the palate.
