Motherís Three Blind Mice
Three Blind Mice has a thick, mousey, ivory head, a semi-clear, copper appearance, lots of big and small suspended sediment, some lazy ascending bubbles, and fairly heavy glass lacing. The aroma is of slightly sour brown bread crust and some light caramel. Taste is the same, with a bit of char and a touch of bitterness. Everything, here, is mainly a muted affair. Mouthfeel is watery, and Three Blind Mice finishes medium wet. RJT

Motherís Backyard Beers English Tea Pale Ale
"09/27/16" imprinted on the bottom of a 16floz can, unknown as to if this is brew on, canned on or best by date. Third can had out of a recent $6/4-pack purchase in the Columbia, MO area. Spoiler alert, this beer along with all other Motherís beers Iíve had is only meh. Appears a copper color, with bubbles and particles in suspension in an imperial nonic glass. Smells like an English style pale ale with a dash of bergamot. Fair on the palate, itís pretty basic with some astringency. Whatever the addition of "Earl Grey Tea" provides, it only adds to off-putting bitterness, and has little of the herbal floral flavoring associated with the actual tea. Itís okay, a little different to differentiate it from total mediocrity. Yet not completely true to style, does not rise above par, and I cannot see myself having more than one in any given setting (nor buying again).

Motherís MILF
MILF has a very thin, tan head, an extremely dark brown appearance, with tiny bubbles streams, visible at the top sides of the snifter glass, with lighter brown at the top and bottom, as the sun shines through it. Aroma is of sharp, bourbon barrel, cocoa, and dark bread. Taste is of rich, chocolate, brown bread, raisin, and chocolate mousse. Mouthfeel is high medium, and MILF finishes medium dry. RJT

Sampled at an ESBLS. Dark brown with a lot of amber. A blotchy off white layer. Bourbon aroma. Flavor begins with berries and grapes. Bourbon under. Massive malts. Warming. A lot going on and it all works. Chocolate and earth. Really good stuff.

Motherís MILF
12 oz bottle. Pours black with a one finger cola head. Aroma is barrel, vanilla, cherries, and dark fruits. Taste is predominantly dark fruits with vanilla and a slight roastiness on the back of the palette. After taste is strong chocolate, especially after it warms up. Mouthfeel was smooth, but the medium-thin body needs more viscosity. Overall, an excellent blended multi-barrel stout. My only critique is how thin the body was. If they increased viscosity, this would be world class.

Pour is a clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma is not much, decent malt thatís about it. Flavor is a more pronounced pils type bready malt with a clean aftertaste. Not much to this beer but it is a very clean and refreshing lager.

12 oz. Bottle in a trade with Matt B. Pitch black color, thin lasting tan head Aroma is milk chocolate, coffee, subtle vanilla hints, mild bourbon.

The flavor has a nice barrel character throughout the sip. Good roasted backbone. Flavor is deep, dark fruits, chocolate, Bourbon, sherry, vanilla, and ending on oak. Creamy texture and fuller velvet body. Sometimes I am still surprised. This stout was a VERY nice surprise. Finely crafted.

Motherís Backyard Beers Tart Peach Bier
Pours a cloudy "peach" color. About one finger white head. Light retention, okay lacing.

Aroma is peach and beer. Very watery. Thatís about it. Meh.

Taste is tart peach. A little bready. Thatís about it.

Mouthfeel is tart, very watery. Thin. Light. Dry. Drinkable.

Overall itís okay. Nothing special. Itís something a hobbyist might make. Not a lot of flavor, not a lot of anything. I wouldnít buy it again, and I wouldnít recommend it.

Motherís MILF - Brandy
22 ounce bottle from MartinVanBeer. Thanks! Poured into a teku. The beer is a thick black with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has rich chocolate brownies with waves of boozy brandy and jam. Sweet and chocolatey, but then the fruity notes of the brandy and raisin come through. Really tasty stuff. Big body, thick mouthfeel, a bit slick, and a moderate level of carbonation. Quite good overall.

Pour is a clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma is of sweet peach and some neutral malt. Flavor is a mild peach and not very tart. You would not no this is a tart beer if it did not say it on the can. Just a so-so fruit beer that is not very tart.

Fobab 2016. Lots of raisins and sweetness. Big brandy presence. Didnít realize it was raisins added until I looked at the listing, thought it was all from the brandy. Enjoyed this better than the standard version side by side.

Motherís Loopty Loop
Sampled from a bottle at the 2016 Tanglefoot Fest, it poured a clear golden colour with weak white foam. Simple grainy flavour, no distinctive hop traits, light body, average carbonation, bland aftertaste. Unmemorable pale lager, definitely not a classic example of the Dortmunder/Helles style, but decent overall.

Motherís Three Blind Mice
Tasted on tap at the 2016 Tanglefoot Fest, it poured a brown colour with weak off-white foam. Malty and a little toasty, caramelly, not much else. Vague hoppy balance, nothing special in this nor the yeast department. Definitely drinkable, not deeply flawed per se, but lacks the body, fruitiness, complexity of a good brown ale. Forgettable.
