[Draught at brewpub] Pours a cloudy gold with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Decent amount of lacing. Nice hoppy aroma: Fruity, herbal and catty -- just hops really. (7+) Flavour follows, nice and hoppy, with a big long bitter finish. (7+) Medium bodied. Just a solid IPA man.

Indie Alehouse X Bar Hop Rabbit of Caerbannog
Bottle from the brewery. Bright golden with a slight haze and a good sized white head - lots of sediment in the bottom of the bottle, I did a careful pour to keep it there. Aroma and flavour are both packed with notes of citrus (lime, orange, lemon) and tea, with hints of pine and skunk. Some orange blossom honey sweetness in there as well. Finish is bitter but not harsh, just a nice lingering flavour of orange peel and a bit of pine. Very nice.

Mild but pleasant aroma of hops and fruit along with bready malt in the back (7+). Flavour is moderately hoppy and fruity - not really getting juniper -- itís good though. Moderately bitter finish. Average bodied. You could drink this all night, not amazing but a solid and enjoyable IPA.

3.8
Indie Alehouse Love Triangle IPA (Centennial, Columbus, Cascade)
Bottle from the brewery. Bright golden with a slight haze & small white head. Aroma is just as youíd expect from the three listed hops - citrus oil, pine resin, green and a bit dank. Flavour have a very nicely layered and complex hop character - tropical fruit, tangerine, pine, grapefruit, lychee, papaya - with a finish that has a notable but not aggressive citrus peel bitterness. A bit of honey cracker malt to balance, but itís mainly all about the hops. Good stuff.

Indie Alehouse Interloper
Bottle from the LCBO. Purchased Sept 16th 2016. I tried a couple of samples of this beer back when it was released in the autumn and found it to be decent but a bit lacking in complexity and depth for a barrel-aged saison. But after setting a bottle aside for 6 months or so, itís improved quite a bit, with stronger notes of wood and brett (or something else with some funk to it), a fruit cocktail character that is mildly sweet but not at all cloying, nice tart white grape/wine notes. Looks great as well - orange-gold with a touch of haze and a finger or so of creamy white head that stick around to the end of the glass. Really good - now Iím wishing Iíd picked up and hung onto a few more bottles!

Indie Alehouse Skyfall Saison
Bottle from the brewery. Shining golden-yellow with a good sized head and a touch of haze. Nice fruitiness on the nose - a bit tropical, a bit citrusy - with lemon-pepper backnote, and a perky punch to remind you that itís dry-hopped. Flavour is just what the aroma suggests - i.e. a good saison with a fruity character and a peppery edge, enhanced with notes of pineapple and tangerine, and a slight funkiness in the finish.

Indie Alehouse Ritual Madness
One of my fav styles, hard to find made locally and at a great place, in the best bottle I have ever seen. The beer is on the dryer side but so rich, tart and oozing red wine and barrel character. The funky is on the softer side, and sweet notes linger in the finish, but the main word to describe this masterpiece is complex.

Indie Alehouse Unheard Melodies
Tap sample at Birreria Volo. Reddish brown with small and scattered creamy head. Really sour aroma, so much funk and tart fruits that the Porter is completely hidden. The roast comes out a bit after its warmed. Better in taste: starts off definitely as a Porter but continues with very tart funkiness and vinegary notes, finishing in a very weird dryness and vinegar, almost a bit aggressive... Flattish on the palate, dry finish. Difficult to rate, a freak this is. Interesting, at least.
