En noget kedelig øl. Tynd som en dårlig dåseøl. Det plejer de at gøre bedre i Tjekkiet

169 fluid ounce bottle. I bet I’ve never said that before. Crystal clear light gold colour, impressive head of foam. Lacing is good as well. The smell is of sweet bread backed by grassy hops. Not as sweet in the taste. Grass with bready malt that works for me. Grainy. Not like a PU but serviceable and...cheap.

It pours a golden body with a nice creamy foam, and you’re not in doubt for a second that this is a pilsner. High carbonation streaming up the glass, and little taste. Pretty much as I expected it to be. But it’s crisp.

It pours a dark body with a very thick foam. The nose is weak and the taste is too. This beer is almost unnoticable. What the hell? For a black lager this is really underwhelming. No where near the likes of Köstritzer. I bet you wouldn’t even be able to drown in this stuff, it is so thin.

Originally rated on 1/28/09. Mid yellow body, not much in the way of carbonation or head, some lace left behind. Crisp mouthfeel, some hop bite with hints of grass and sweet bready malts. Refreshing with a decent aftertaste, although i am not a big pilsner fan it was drinkable.

Clear deep golden with medium dense head. Clean malts and fresh Saaz on nose. Light body. The taste is what I’d call a model of Czech pilsner. Subtle clean maltiness and nice nobleness of floral Saaz. Good.

Bottle from Market Steer Wine Shop, Downtown. Clear golden with a small white head. Corn and cracker aroma. Flavor is sweet grasses, somewhat sweet, some corn, grains. Strangely dry and leaves a weird film in my mouth. It’s not horrible, but that strange film in my mouth is... well, strange.

Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a pristine mahogany color. The head is creamy, off-white and long-lived. A weak coffee aroma with trace dried dark fruit and spicy floral perfume. The pallette is treated to softcore roasted barley with coffee tonage. Medium bodied mouthfeel that plays well with spicy and earthy hops with moderately dry finish.

Královský Lev (Lev Gold Lion Pale Double Bock)
Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a tulip glass. I am embarking on a trip around the world starting with this unique offering I picked up at my local BevMo!. The appearance is a clean copper color. Hyperactive carbonation streams to the top of the glass supporting a thin, bubbly white head. The nose on this is toasted grain with floral perfume. The taste imparts elements of floral perfumes, toasted grains, spicy and earthy hops, rounded out by a some farmhouse funk.

Clear gold beer with a slightly reddish hue topped with a bright crop of white head that takes a while to subside. Generic nose of corn syrup, musky hops, and light cereal grain. Flavor is standard pilsener with a subtle sweetness followed by some cardboard hops, although this one pulls it off fairly well. Definitely not my favorite style, but a decent beer nonetheless.
