Sawdust City Fusion Raspberry IPA
Can from brewery. Pours deep apricot with a whisper of foam across the surface. I can't seem to walk into a brewery these days without a fruit beer falling on my head. This one is full blown raspberry -- nothing subtle about the use of fruit here -- meets a somewhat hoppy ipa. It's a bit of balance, with the raspberry smothering the full effect of the hops. Hard to tell well the tartness ends & the bitterness begins. Bit of a palate wrecker. Nothing's gonna taste right after this.

Sawdust City Adaptation: Mosaic
Can from brewery. Really neat beer. Some nob will complain & snivel about how this is "off style" but who cares. It's fun, tasty & sessionable. Tangerine, papaya, green hops, crisp, dry, little to no bitterness. You could sit in the sun or a huddle under a bridge & pound this back all day with little complaint. Love it.

A bit rougher around the edges when I come back to it but still nice. 7++ Smooth average plus bodied palate, moderate carbonation. 3+ Very nice. 7/4/7+/3/16-17 On tap at Bar Hop Brewco, Toronto.

Sawdust City X Nickel Brook 11/05 2016 Brett Tripel
Thanks to AleRider78 for bringing this one back from Sawdust (b-day gift). Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a warm cap that leaves some light creamy lacing. The Brett is noticeable in the nose at first with the funky-earthy notes. Then some fruity malts appear. The Brett is less apparent in the taste with the fruity malts taking over. Orange hints and warming alcohol. Some nice hops balance the finish with a slight dryness. All very well-blended, smooth Belgian Tripel with Brett.

Can: Poured a nice yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light floral undertones. Taste is mostly dominated by tart notes with light malt notes also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Refreshing without having as much depth as I was expecting.

Sawdust City Limberlost Farmhouse Ale Barrel Aged with Strawberry Rhubarb
Bottle from brewery. Purchased in early July; opened in late September during heatwave. Odd pour: starts off crackling like ginger ale but soon finishes to a pale apple juice. Looks are deceiving cuz the mouthfeel is on the high end of prickly. Nice soft tart swirls of strawberry, rhubarb & barrel. Exotic berry tartness lingers after the finish.

750 ml bottle from brewery bottle shop (2016 vintage). Pours a virtually black colour with smallish mocha-coloured head. Aroma is dark and roasty with lots of dark fruit, bourbon character, wood, cocoa and a little coffee. Flavour has strong, sweet cherry and molasses with bourbon, vanilla, wood, dark chocolate, roasty grains and light coffee. Quite rich and on the boozy side, though not in a harsh way. Big body. Slick mouthfeel. Nice one.

Sawdust City Lone Pine IPA
Tap at Craft Room. Misty golden, white head. Aroma... Drops of lemon splashed on brown sugar with a dash of caramel, intensive, relatively. Er. Obvious oxidation, sharper and not as awful as they get, at least until vague yeast shows up... But hey, at least it died in an original fashion. Taste-wise it's not as bad, soft lemon and peach ice tea on caramel. Medium bitterness, earthy touches. Obviously way off, but drinkable! Kinda. Until earthiness kicks in... I wish our importers wouldn't even try to import ancient stuff. Sawdust City, I'm sure that you did a great job originally, and I'll rerate ASAP!

2017-08-31. Yellow body, modest off white head and decent lace. 3+ Aroma has an almost gooseberry like fruit note up front, muted florals, pale malt, mild rough alcohol. 6+ Flavour is surprisingly mild, pleasant sweetish fruit notes, modest but rough alcohol follows with a grainy quality to it that detracts from the initial impression. 6+ Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Okay. 6/3/6/3/14+ On tap at Duke's Refresher, Toronto.

first Smells like IPA. The hop spicy frangrance cover else. Then if u take a deep breath and smell deep. U notice the chocolate hint. Since I think with the original can. No comment on the appearance. About taste. A lit bit creamy head i can feel. Your mouth and nose full of the heavy oak-like flavor at once. The spicy hop taste at tip if your tonge. Afterwards, chocolate and whiskey like mouth and nose feel. It should be a nice match pair with cigar. At last, you tighten your mouth to squeeze to feel the last drop. Its conmfortably sour mid of tongue. Let the texture of this spirits so sophisticated. I cant love more about the nose feel when its full of dark heavy oak-like flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sawdust City FOMA (Peaches)
December 13, 2015 - at Bar Hop, on draught. Yep, this is the one - definitely was with peaches. Very hazy pale gold, solid off-white bubbly head. Aroma is tart peach, sour berliner lacto, grassy bitterness, not much alcohol - lovely lovely. Taste is massive peach, but tart as hell - hint of ever so slightly unpleasant butter. Still and thick sticky mouthfeel, finishes quick and leaves a weird peach/gluey aftertaste. Ultimately not amazing, but oh that aroma!
