Pours clear, pale, a touch flat - a bit weak to the eye. Malty and slightly musty to the nose - bread, toffee, grain, not bad. Taste is easy to drink but forgettable, similar to a Euro pilsner. Grain, sweet malt, noticeable German malt character. Pretty straightforward but it does the job.

Sawdust City Skinny Dipping Stout
Bought from the brewery. Poured from can into Guinness glass. Smells malty, sweet and almost a chocolaty. Pours dark brown, almost black. Next to no head that disappears immediately. No lacing. Taste is malty and mildly sweet. Very faint hop note. Decent carbonation. Next to no aftertaste. Overall I enjoyed this one, and may buy again. It was easy drinking, and not offensive. It was missing something though. Cannot compete with Stouts like 8th Sin. MB. The Beer "Bear" on.

Bottle from the brewery. Orange body with a purpleish hue and a small white head. Aroma of buckwheat honey, tart plum, hint of anise, medicinal/phenolic edge. Flavour is pleasantly tart without being acidic, notes of lemon and plum, bit of wood, grainy backnote, dry finish with limestone character. Body is nicely carbonated, crisp and lively, slightly thin but carries the flavours well. Really nice.

Sawdust City Hygge
750ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold with a thin white head. On the nose, sour cherry candy notes, a faint bit of yeast, calvados, and more scents from the acidity family. Taste wise, lighter bodied with sour acidity, light sultana raisin, and faint caramel that heads into more of the same with fruitier notes, a hint of malt, and some woody, mineral notes in the finish. It’s not overly complex, and the plums are nowhere to be found, but it’s pretty darn pleasant to drink, and the alcohol is well hidden. I’d buy it again.

Bright straw color with low activity. Extra foamy white 4 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with poor legs. Flavors of corn, lemon, grapefruits, wheat, hay, soft caramel, noble hops. Sharp straw and cereal feel, with zesty citrus. Slick and smooth full body with extra prickly and crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, sharp grassy floral dry hops with a dash of citrusy fruits, a bit leafy and flowery, with notes of sweet grains and bread. Really fresh, heavy, and zesty, proper to the style, with the flavors having an american touch. Very tasty and pleasant to drink. The smell is a bit faint, and the carbonation is probably a tad too much. Still makes a solid summer beer. Overall very good quality craft.

Thin-medium body (maybe a bit light for the style). Somewhat over the top with the grapefruit, but very pleasant all the same.

Fake news. This beer is not retired. Can from brewery. Pours dark woods brown with a mushy bone-white cap. Wow. Nice red ale! Deep hop bitters & pine cones. The bitterness fills the mouth nicely. Pleased it doesn’t fall into the sugary amber trap. Very good brew.

Sawdust City Limberlost Farmhouse Ale
Quite nice. Picked up a can at NB Liquor in Newcastle, N.B., as there was nothing tremendously exciting from the growler selection. Reminded me of many elements of a Belgian farmhouse saison but without the Belgian yeast; funkier, fruitier, like a cider (pear), more ester-y, with a distinctly different finish. Can definitely pick out the Brett too, which I think is a smart addition. Would buy it again.

Bottle from brewery. Hobo homoerotica label on bottle. Pours a deep cherry sunburst with a frothy cap that scrams quicker than a slab of bacon at a hangover breakfast. Wow. Deep earthy bass notes from the red wine barrel sustain through the entire sip. Nice funky sour. Carbonation is prickly. The alcohol is a little on the large size. Good stuff that most people won’t get to try.

Sawdust City The Princess Wears Girlpants
Can from the brewery. Golden orange with a slight haze and a tight, creamy white head that slowly recedes and leaves some nice lace. It’s now being referred to on the can as a "Muskokan Saison", but is still quite heavily hopped, with big notes of bitter orange, grapefruit, and pineapple, alongside the spiciness and peppery notes expected from a saison, and a strong Belgian yeast character. Lots going on, but it never goes off the rails. And quite deceptive as well, as that strong abv (now up to 9%) really sneaks up on you.

Sawdust City Twin Pines IIPA
Can from the brewery. Bright golden with a slight haze and small white head. Massive pine and citrus aroma, as you’d expect. Flavour is hops, hops and more hops, leaning more to the cirtus and tropical fruit side, but with some pine coming through as it warms up. Some alcohol warmth in the finish, but its in balance with the flavour, and not unwelcome. I guess there’s some malt in there somewhere, but this is really an unapologetic hop bomb, and that’s ok by me.
