Deep, dark color - hints of chocolate and coffee on the nose, and a full, rich satisfying long finish, make this the perfect beer for hearty dishes; stews; chilis, wild game gumbo and other full flavored, hearty dishes. It is made with the four classic ingredients: barley, American hops, yeast, and pure Texas Hill Country water. It is a celebration of beer the way it was made 100 years ago. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Floral/grassy aroma. Taste is all juicy and no bitterness. Have to say in general I like single malt scotch more than single hop IPA. Hmm, I guess I like single malt scotch more than just about any IPA though so never mind.

Can. Pours a lovely deep amber with orange and peach highlights. Nose is interesting, given there are two unusual hops in this beer (Jarrylo and Idaho #7); papaya, floral notes white pepper, cheese rind, earth, pine needles, mushrooms. Very pleasant nose. On the tongue, there’s bitterness up front, followed by a caramel malt sweetness; more tropical fruit and more earthen notes follow. It’s quite deep and complex without being rich or overbearing. Finishes clean and bitter. Very well put together; not your typical citrus bomb at all, but something more restrained, mature, and yet willing to kick you with its intensity.
