Third Street Lost Trout Brown Ale
Bottle in Seattle. Gifted by Andrew. A bit out of date I believe. Dissipating off-white head. Dark cola body, looks as much like a dark schwarz beer as a brown ale. A touch of toffee and roast on nose. Pretty wet, thin body. A little bitter, burnt grain. Sweet cola or root beer impression. A bit thin, missing a full ale feeling. Burnt root beer.

Third Street Sugar Shack Maple Stout
Tap. Pours clear black, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is odd, not really maple, more sasparilla perhaps? Rooty, woody, yes some maple, cocoa, roast malt. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, a bit weird. Medium body, soft mouthfeel.

Copper color. Moderate amount of grassy hopsin the aroma, the beer seems fresh. Mildly bitter hop flavor, clearly an ipa, so decent quality here.

November 18, 2016 - can from my home boy Andy. Orange pour with some head that lasted a bit and some lacing. Aroma was balanced with the malt and hops, got some citrus and pine. Taste was consistent with aroma, but a hint of floral in there as well.

Aroma is just plain "beery". Flavorís on the bland side. Slightly malty, bit of fruit, on the dry side. Except for in the finish where there is a bit of sweet. Body is slightly thin. Forgettable brew.

On tap. Pours cola brown, big tan head. Aroma of chocolate, cold-press coffee, toffee and some dairy. Taste of rich coffee, cocoa, creamy froth and toffee. Great thick mouthfeel and balanced bitter finish. Like I just ate a chocolate covered coffee bean. Booze in finish is perfect.

Cola brown with a half inch of white head. Aroma is vanilla and coffee on a brown beer. Taste is mostly the same, but there is a medicinal note in there somewhere, and the fermentation seems a bit off. Not bad though. Thanks, Dad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle from bananabi11, and shared with him. Cellared for 8 months and served at cellar temperature. Brown pour, beige head. Smoothly roasty, Light lactose. Caramel, chocolate. Light ash. This is definitely coffee-centric. Body is medium-to-full, the blend is fairly smooth. The carbonation is solid and there is little alcohol presence. Finishes more bitter than bittersweet. Yum! 14.4

Third Street Rise≥ Above Triple Cream Ale
Bottle. Pours hazy golden with thin white head. Nose is nice and bright--flaked corn, some mild berry-like esters. Flavor follows suit. Surprisingly well-developed and well-structured for a strong golden ale from this brewery. Flavor is a clean barley grain with just a hint of corn that adds some spice, mild sugary sweetness from residual sugars that could border on too much for some palates--and this is where it shows a bit of rawness, along with the alcohol that comes through around this point--and the finish has just a touch of herbal hoppiness to cleanse the palate, but it does leave a bit of alcohol slickness, too. I drank this cold and it seemed like a pretty good strong ale built from upper midwestern ingredients.

Cloudy yellow with fizzy white head. Kind of funky sour fruity aroma. Taste - wheat, light honey and a touch of tart fruit. I've had it once before on tap and I did taste the melon notes but not this time. Prickly carbonation on tongue. Decent easy drinking wheaty summer ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Third Street Hop Lift IPA
Hazy gold color with foamy white head. Aroma is slightly dank and citrusy. Taste - a pleasant combo of pine, citrus and touch of tropical fruit. Some crackery malt balances. Not a great IPA IMO but a solid everyday drinking IPA. At 6.2 ABV it's a kind of a tweener between a Session and standard. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Third Street Minnesota Gold Lager
A well done Pale Lager, paying homage to the midwest beer tradition. Reminiscent of Leinenkugels, Miller, PBR, and other Midwest "blue collar beer" in appearance and intent, but much better in flavor. Crisp, refreshing biscuit and light malt flavors make a refreshing, drinkable beer.

Bomber to tulip. Pours clouded orange, white sticky head. Aroma of oj, bread, pine, flowers and tropical fruit. FYI...I donít like fig in my beer. Bread + Fruit = FIG. Quite a bit of fig in here. Otherwise...very light and tasty. Not sure where to taste the 9+ abv. Decent minus my hatred for fig in my drinks. All of 3rd Street Brewing seems to suffer that vegetable off flavor.

Third Street Lost Trout Brown Ale
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 7/15/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/chocolate/coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/chocolate/coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nutty/chocolate/coffee, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with a great bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a damn nice American brown ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Third Street Sugar Shack Maple Stout
Bottle. Nose is pronounced butterscotch - some diacetyl aroma - beneath there is soy sauce. Flavor is exotic - a kind of toffee coconut. There is also some barley malt flavor in there somewhere. Finish is vanilla with a bit of alcohol. This is exciting for a Minnesota winter (seasonal), a bit like if this part of the world had a baltic porter - a strong somewhat nasty beer (in a good way), that makes sense for this particular place and time/weather (tiempo en el castellano y otros idiomas).

Third Street Three Way Pale Ale
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body with a minimal wispy white head that faded very quickly. The nose is sweet and slightly grainy with just some minimal floral hoppiness. The flavor is light in bitterness, and the malt base is rather bland, which makes for a thin and boring beer. Light and watery body with soft fizzy carbonation. This is not a good beer.

Third Street Minnesota Gold Lager
Can. Pours golden with a fine lookin head. Nose is grass-hay hop notes - very mild. Flavor is light lager territory - lacking nuance, but obviously quite a pure malt bill - I detect a little bit of barley pils malt (mildly sweet) along with some flaked corn (fresh and bright and not adjunct or chemical). Finish has a touch of bitter herbal or extract lager hops - a touch of bitterness clears the palate. Good mid-continent lager - perhaps better than schlitz in this category. Definitely appeals to the craft drinker more than your average pale lager when brought to a party, fwiw.
