Third Street Free Speech Red Ale
A good looking beer, deep red-eye, sticky white head, plenty of lace. Aroma is caramel, earth, a little dark roast, traces of mint. Not bad, just kind of boring on the tongue, slight effervescence, caramel, tea, wood. Lingering finish. Good, no real hook to distinguish itself though.

Third Street Hop Lift IPA
Can from Aldi’s. It poured a hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, pine and hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more citrus, pine hops and some subtle fruit notes. Tasty.

From a can. Gold color. OK. Light citrus and a little pine. The palate is light, easy to drink. There is not a lot going on here but I think that was the plan. Perfectly drinkable.

Got it at Aldi for cheap. Not a bad IPA for the money, but seems a little weak. Drank it straight from a 16 oz can. Hops are noticeable, but missing something? I’ve had better Pale Ale. For the price I would buy again if hard up.

Out of the can. Pours hazy straw color with white that quickly faded without lacing. Scent is wheat and mildly sweet melon. Taste is similar. Not too much wheat but not that much melon either. Fairly watery. An easy to drink summer beer. Brings me back to Sal's.

16 oz can from Aldi’s The ale poured a clear amber color with a white froamy head that lasted. Nice lacing on the glass. the aroma was citrusy with some malty overtones. The taste was pleasant with some pine resin blended with grapefruit and tropical fruit. The nicely balanced IPA has a medium body with average carbonation. Pillowy soft mouthfeel, with a restrained bitterness on the finish.

Pounder from Aldi Waynesboro VA: Mild lemongrass nose. Clear amber, medium head, good lace. Lemongrass, quite vegetal midpalate. Light body, easy carbonation. Even for the relatively low price I paid for this, it wasn’t worth it.

Third Street Bitter Neighbor Black IPA
Dark brown ale with a finger’s worth of lasting foam. Mild aromas of toasted to roasted malt, citric to floral hops and some dark chocolate. Soft and smooth palate. Light sweetness is quickly whisk away with bitter hops and acidic malts. Some toasted wood, akin to a bourbon barrel. Keeps getting more acidic the further I get down in the glass. A hoppy Schwartz/porter. 5/12

Third Street Lost Trout Brown Ale
Bottle in Seattle. Gifted by Andrew. A bit out of date I believe. Dissipating off-white head. Dark cola body, looks as much like a dark schwarz beer as a brown ale. A touch of toffee and roast on nose. Pretty wet, thin body. A little bitter, burnt grain. Sweet cola or root beer impression. A bit thin, missing a full ale feeling. Burnt root beer.

Cola brown with a half inch of white head. Aroma is vanilla and coffee on a brown beer. Taste is mostly the same, but there is a medicinal note in there somewhere, and the fermentation seems a bit off. Not bad though. Thanks, Dad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle from bananabi11, and shared with him. Cellared for 8 months and served at cellar temperature. Brown pour, beige head. Smoothly roasty, Light lactose. Caramel, chocolate. Light ash. This is definitely coffee-centric. Body is medium-to-full, the blend is fairly smooth. The carbonation is solid and there is little alcohol presence. Finishes more bitter than bittersweet. Yum! 14.4

Third Street Rise³ Above Triple Cream Ale
Bottle. Pours hazy golden with thin white head. Nose is nice and bright--flaked corn, some mild berry-like esters. Flavor follows suit. Surprisingly well-developed and well-structured for a strong golden ale from this brewery. Flavor is a clean barley grain with just a hint of corn that adds some spice, mild sugary sweetness from residual sugars that could border on too much for some palates--and this is where it shows a bit of rawness, along with the alcohol that comes through around this point--and the finish has just a touch of herbal hoppiness to cleanse the palate, but it does leave a bit of alcohol slickness, too. I drank this cold and it seemed like a pretty good strong ale built from upper midwestern ingredients.

Cloudy yellow with fizzy white head. Kind of funky sour fruity aroma. Taste - wheat, light honey and a touch of tart fruit. Third Street Hop Lift IPA
Hazy gold color with foamy white head. Aroma is slightly dank and citrusy. Taste - a pleasant combo of pine, citrus and touch of tropical fruit. Some crackery malt balances. Not a great IPA IMO but a solid everyday drinking IPA. At 6.2 ABV it's a kind of a tweener between a Session and standard. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Third Street Minnesota Gold Lager
A well done Pale Lager, paying homage to the midwest beer tradition. Reminiscent of Leinenkugels, Miller, PBR, and other Midwest "blue collar beer" in appearance and intent, but much better in flavor. Crisp, refreshing biscuit and light malt flavors make a refreshing, drinkable beer.
