Puyallup River Hazey's Comet
22 oz bottle poured. Cool looking bottle here. Hazy golden orange pour. Aroma is a nice fresh orange fruit, hint of citrus tart. Interesting. Creamy body, and full of flavor. Citrus, but soft and low bitter. Refreshing, and very enjoyable hazy here. Would totally drink this again, and hope I do.

Puyallup River Jack O'Lahar Pumpkin Ale
Bomber. Aroma is generic beer, bread crust, apples. Pours hazy amber with a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste is lightly sweet and roasty. Less spice forward than typical examples. Just ok.

Puyallup River Fresh Hop IPA
Draft pour at Great Pumpkin Beer Fest. Cool that they inserted fresh hops to add to this festival. It is indeed the season for both styles. A lighter, pale yellowish pour. First Simcoe fresh hop this year. Pretty dank on the nose. Somewhat of a grassy and citrus combination of hop flavor. Good hop profile overall. Pretty good.

Dark with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, earth, vanilla. The pepper lurks till the finish when the heat singes your throat. Quite a nice stout base with hot pepper. Not a fan of pepper beers but this is well made.

Puyallup River Cream Ale - Pineapple Ghost Pepper
Bottle in Seattle. Thanks to Andrew, on his quest to try every pepper beer / eventually make it an official style here. Gusher bottle, soft foamy cream on a cloudy glowing pineapple juice yellow body. Muddled cream on nose with a hint of old pineapple. This does pack some heat, which is as much as I would expect. Grows with the glass. I suppose the pineapple and cream base work well as a supporting palate for this heat. Green heat, rises and burns a little. If you like heat you’ll like that aspect of this. Base is flabby but fine. Works better than I expected.

22 pours cloudy copper with a rocky off white head. Aroma is faintly of hops. Taste is of mildly funky hops and a super bitter astringent orange peel finish. Active and crisp but way out of balance.

Puyallup River Electron IPA
Draft pour pint at Puyallup. Plastic pint. State fair. Golden orange pour with a thin fizz head. Quite refreshing, though much could be owed to how difficult it is to find a good beer on these grounds. Crisp, earthy hops, soft malt linger late. Modest touch of bitterness to pair. An orange peel like bitterness. Orange fruit slightly in the flavor as well. Other than that, a pretty standard IPA for me. Good, but not great.

Not a good ale at all. Pours an ugly foamy pee yellow. Smells slightly of pineapple and ginger, but has a distinct domestic lager backing. Taste is the same. Had in the bottle.

Puyallup River Pineapple Paradise Cream Ale
Bomber from Tavour - bright cloudy yellow - smells of pineapple first, with a yeasty undertone. Flavor is a little musty and juicy at the same time. Dry on the finish, but lots of pineapple throughout. Cool if you’re in the mood for it.

Puyallup River Electron IPA
Bottle in Seattle. Dry creamy lingering head, clear, golden copper orange. Sweet, autumnal spiced amber aroma. Stale hops, copper metallic. Round-edged malty body with some bitter hop qualities. Fear this is a bit stale, but balance is still outside the wheelhouse.

Puyallup River Cream Ale - Pineapple Ghost Pepper
An interesting very spicy beer. Pours a pee yellow color with a white head. Smells a bit of pepper and lemon. Taste is spicy right away, and pepper, which sort of overwhelms everything else. Paired with lamb tacos with jicama slaw, more pineapple is brought out. Still the spiciest beer I have had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Puyallup River Lahar Imperial IPA
Bottle:   Nice head and lacing, orange, a little dirty and hazy.   Citrusy nose, a little candied, hoppy, some citrus peel and pith.   Seems sweeter than most.   Juicy on the tongue, hoppy, but moreso sweet and citrusy.   This is real nice!   Could stand to actually have a bit more hop bitterness, but I wont complain as its clean with a nice sweetness to it.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   A little mango comes out towards the finish.   Lots of hop flavor without being too bitter.   Probably not for everyone, but I like it.   A little alcohol towards the finish.   Not an over the top hoppy beer, sweeter, could stand to be a bit maltier and maybe even a bit hoppier, but clean and flavorful.   I can dig it!

Poured 09.03.16. A: Milk chocolate, cola, and vanilla. A: recedes to a ring. Black body with quite a lot of red in the glass. T: Coffee, milk chocolate, char, cola, dark berry, and vanilla all mix together well. P: Pretty smooth with fizzy bubbles. O: This grew on me. The vanilla beans and lactose nicely cut the sharper roasted malt flavors. Solid.

Puyallup River Cream Ale - Pineapple Ghost Pepper
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out subdued chili peppers and very subdued pineapple. Flavour is big on the spicy peppers, with a pleasant pineapple contribution. Not much flavour but tons of heat. It’s okay - not much depth.

Puyallup River Cream Ale - Pineapple Ghost Pepper
22oz bottle. Very pale color but hazy.. Small head that fades. Aroma is very light pineapple, have to know its there, and maybe pepper. But its really just a slightly sweet cream ale. Flavor is the same except you get a burn. So, its no pepper flavor but all burn. I like the burn, so its ok with me. Again, a hint of pineapple. The burn sticks around. I actually really like the base cream ale.

Puyallup River Cream Ale - Pineapple Ghost Pepper
22 oz bottle at Eugene’s farewell tasting. Pale golden yellow pour with a soap bubble head. Not much pepper aroma. More grainy. Flavor is a good spicy pepper up front. Lingering spice that leaves a good burn. If you focus on the base behind, there is a nice honey, pineapple. Creamy, and a constant, intriguing pepper. Love them pepper beers. UPDATE: retry month 2017. Gusher 22 oz bottle. Fading active fizz head. Very similar tasting notes. Love the pepper heat here. I would expect the pineapple sweetness to balance a little more, but I’m kinda glad it doesn’t. Nice pepper brew here.
