Greene King London Glory (Bottle)
0.33l bottle from British Store. Alc. 4.1%. Small head, almost immediately vanishing. Not much aroma, some nuts, some caramel, maybe a bit fruity. But mostly nothing. Amber or blutorange colour. Taste is bit of caramel, hint of apple, bit of moderate bitterness, especially in the aftertaste. Fizzy, unpleasant carbonation. Dull, uninteresting beer.

Nice Gold colour thinish head. Sweet fruity aroma. Taste is nice sweet malt with citrus fruitiness and dryness but not too strong/overpowering so a nice easy drinker.

Greene King St. Edmund’s Golden Beer (Bottle)
Old review before making ratebeer account. Incredibly average. Cascade hops are real neat, but if somebody told me it’s just water with cascade hops, I’d believe them - that’s just how dry and watery it is.

Greene King East Coast IPA (Bottle)
Minimal beige head soon left a skim on a light golden, highly carbonated and Floral, hoppy aroma. Thin on the palate, prickly on the fore & cloying on the back. Pretty much a nothing of a beer, caramel, very dull tasting on the tongue, slight sweetness & absolutely nothing on the aft.

Keg (Duke of Cambridge, Cambridge)
Gold, scary creamy keggy head. No aroma but floral perfume. Taste is malty, more floral perfume. Finish slightly artichoke butter - so yeah, I knew this was Greene King a mile off - but it was remarkably drinkable, a pretty OK bitter, and for keg, not a bad sample at all.

Ruddles Best (Cask)
Cask @ The Jubilee Oak JDW, Crawley. Crystal clear copper brown, handsome, white, well defined head that lasts. Decent lacing. Good looking pint. Aroma: lacking. Weak bread, malt. Taste: weak fruit, malt, caramel, slight acetyl, long moderate bitter finish with sour notes, definitely this ales strong point. Palate, thin to moderate body, smooth, lingering. Overall cheap but uninspiring, would probably bemore interesting if brewed to a higher ABV. Fine, but I’d rather be drinking somethin else.

Cask at the Three Wise Monkeys, Colchester. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of light malt and caramel, but rather weak. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light body andthin texture. Carbonation is soft. Not nice, wish I’d asked who the brewer was before ordering ’Three Wise Monkeys’.

Greene King East Coast IPA (Cask)
Pump, Hotel Wroxham, Wroxham. Dark golden appearance with creamy white head. Citrus pith aroma. Satisfying and refreshing citrus flavour with light bitter, hop and full citrus aftertaste. Really surprised at how good this is. Absolutely no comparison between this and standard Greene King IPA. Probably not a true IPA for the purists, but I love it and can’t believe that I do!

Greene King Yardbird (Bottle / Keg)
I bought this bottle at the ipercoop in Crevoladossola. I drank it at home, a couple of days ago. In my opinion, it is a regular ale, nothing extraordinary but it is ok. The body is copper, thin and white foam, regular carbonation. The taste is malty, hop and bitter, a bit watery, a bit herbal, simple but find.

Greene King IPA (Cask)
Cask, The Boat Shed Wroxham. Pours dark amber with frothy cream head which sticks to the side of the glass. Slight fruit/hoppy aroma, but nothing too distinctive. Weak fruity and hop flavours with slight bitter finish which portrays the 3.6 abv. Nothing to get too excited about, but drinkable if choice is limited.

Greene King Festive Pudding
Copenhagen 14/2 2017. 50 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. On the label I find - no great surprise there - a huge pudding. Does not make the obvious weirdness of this concept less prominent. Well I have to admit that it has taken me some time to get around to this festive brew in my fridge. Pours clear dark reddish brown with small off-white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Aroma is living up to the label being quite sweet and sugary ("festive" some would say). Brown sugar, sugar jelly, licorice with a light whiff of alcohol. Modest sourness in the background. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is quite close to the aroma. Overwhelmingly sweet. Followed by more sweetness without any noticeable bitterness around. A little sourness peeks in - but it is too little too late. Not a bad beer - but not compatible to my taste buds.

It has a pleasant syrup aroma, but the texture is too light and watery for me. The color is nice amber-like. The aftertaste is bitter, but at first it is a light sweetness you can feel. Drinkable, but I can’t really recommend it.

Greene King Strong Suffolk (Olde Suffolk)

Bottle at Mercat. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - apples and citrus. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - a bit traditional and not really zippy enough to be ipa.

Bottle at home. A good general purpose IPA. Nothing spectacular, but very pleasant to drink. The hops are there, but they are quite soft. Not the "in your face" hops that you would expect with the style. There is also quite an odd sweetness coming through and I am still not sure if it is something that works.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Taste - definitely more of the apples and probably of the stewed variety again. Some citrus too. Not much on the toffee and biscuit side. Nose - stewed ales, some citrus and biscuits. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - decent.
