Vault Breakfast Stout
Can, huge thanks to Jones for the pickup. Pours out a cool nitro pour of almost black with an off white creamy head. Aroma is of chocolate, coffee, light lactose sweetness, cookie dough, syrup and some vanilla bean. Taste is complex, medium roast coffee, Maple syrup, dough, some chocolate, smooth velvety body like most nitro is. Well made beer

Can, huge thanks to Jones. Pours out a hazy darker amber/copper color with a small to moderate white head. Aroma is a nice blend of hoppy notes (citrus zest, pine, some grass, light floral notes, mild bready malts. Taste is complex, lots of nice hops like the Aroma, great job capturing all of the characteristics of the hops in here, spicy, citrus, pine, grass, light eucalyptus, bready malt in there a bit too. Really well done.

Vault Russian Imperial Stout - Coffee
Bottle shared at the Oirschot tasting. Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is full on strong coffee, big roasty espresso, sweet malts, bit of a fruity note. Coffee is almost overpowering, gives a strange drying quality on the palate and a little bit of a sour note from it. Interesting brew but lacks in itís drinkability.

Bottle [from trade, thnx!] shared with Joes, Svartvit and Triggernils at tasting. [Bottle no. 011 of 500] Opaque pitch black color, average sized light brown head. Smell and taste malts, coffee, some liquor, alcohol, alcohol and malt bitterness. A bit sharp. Hmm, not very balanced. No, unbalanced. Too bad, had higher hopes.

Vault Russian Imperial Stout - Coffee
Bottle [from trade, thnx!] shared @ tasting with Joes, Svartvit and Triggernils. Bottle no. 052 of 250, bottled October 9th 2016, Pretty Bird Coffee Beans conditioned. Opaque black color, average to medium sized beige to light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, heavy heavy coffee, espresso. Taste malts, over the top coffee, so much it even gives a slight sour hint, very bitter as well. Too bad, over the top. Pleased to try this though. Aroma is awesome coffee but the flavor really is too much and has a sourish touch. Too bad.

Thank you Mike! Bottle #41/500. Bomber sampled. Black, little tanned head. Umami nose with chocolate, weird varnish mocha, lightly watery, dirt. Taste is odd, umami, dirt, faintly vinous, warming dirt, booze, chocolate, grains, grainy,... Body is touch thin & lightly vinous. Not very impressive with the lightly thinned body, dirt & lightly vinous taste. Wouldnít call it ruined but it isnít very impressive either.

From notes. Enjoyed this during the 2nd Annual Kellyís Island Bottle Share on September 18. 16 oz can. The pour is a light hazy darker gold with a thick white head that falls down leaving a good lace. The aroma offers some light tropical fruits and a floral hop for sure. There is a sweet maltiness that Iím not really digging at all. Itís very one dimensional. The flavor is much of the same. The maltiness controls, and the hops are very floral, yet light. The mouth feel is light and thin with a sharper carbonation and an interestingly dry and grassy finish. This is really an interesting beer from start to finish.

Can. Completely clouded cranberry-orange hue with a dense, creamy sand-colored head. Flavor is what it purports to be--sweet potato (mashed and slightly caramelized) with a cinnamony piquancy and a mild, earthy bitterness. Captures the vegetable well, though itís not a flavor I think I need in a beer more than once a year.

Bottle from release day. Poured a thin body dark blackish brown with a very small tight bubbly beige head. Aroma is a touch hot, sweet whiskey notes, syrup, dark toast and chocolate.
