Wow , what an experience. The flavor is hard to describe. Take a sour beer, age it in Cabernet casks and make it great. It’s got all the profiles , wood wine beer tart tangy. Your taste buds will wonder what the hell is going on but somehow it’s delicious . I can’t imagine the thought process that crafted this beer but I’m going to say cheers to the mad scientist !! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I have heard about this beer for years . Finally I had the chance to get a few and I didn’t look back . By far the pinnacle of all IPA’s with huge pine and floral hops nestled in between malts leaving you wanting another taste. I was worried after all the hype that it would be a let down. The answer is Hell No , this is the reason they all talk about it , this is the reason it is worth the wait. This is the reason that Pliny is Pliny ! The best beer I’ve ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A great legendary brew, the first double ipa, bought at the brewery, 5.50 a bottle. Very enjoyable, very clear, wished they would do an unfiltered version. Notes of citrus, pine, tropical flavors, very good..

An elegant wild ale. To me it reminds more of a sour blond than classic american wild beer. But it is balanced, complex and nice.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Paul. Hazy amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, very mild carbonation. Tangy fruits and a touch of vanilla. That's about it. Smooth finish. Tangy linger. Simple stuff but quite approachable for a RR beer.

Batch 12. Pours very clear blonde. Not much head. Smell is weak, mild grains, some apples. Taste is oxidized ( some madeira, mild cardboard ) still quite OK though. even though this has past it's prime, it's still drinkable, and even enjoyable.

This beer randomly happened to be in our fridge at work. Was a fantastic surprise. I was unfamiliar with this sweet nectar until then. It is understandably in high demand.

Russian River Ron Mexico (2015 National Homebrewers Conference Bottle)
Bottle pours brilliant golden with a well-formed, clean, foamy white head and loads of bubbles. She's a beaut. Aroma is tropical, citrus, pine, some grain and earth. Lots of P fruits evident in this - pineapple, papaya, plum. Flavor is clean, crisp, good bready crystal/pale base and solid bitterness. Medium-light feel, crisp and clean. A good offering in the APA/SIPA category.

This is an excellent beer. I'll start with the short comings but there aren't many. It pours with a poor head. The color is so light and clear, you're convinced that it's a domestic pilsner. The smell is very floral and the taste is so delicious. It is a smooth and very well-balanced IPA. Might be the most well-balanced IPA I've ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12/19/17: $12 + tax and tip, 1 pint 1.25 oz bottle poured into a snifter at West 4th and Jane. Light blond clear pour, minimal head and carbonation. Strong pine aroma, hops, mixture of sweet and strong hops. One of the strongest aromas from a beer I have ever had. Hops and pine predominant tastes. Strong mouth feel, firm, dry pleasant drinking. Overall excellent beer, thanks David for the tip!

So, my first beer rated at the brewery, which I knew for its great series...and I was surprised that they make such an insipid beer. Oh well. Very light, clear yellow. Dusty aroma. I don't get the flowers and honoey. Pepper maybe, long bitterness. (On tap at brewery, Labor Day weekend 2017, tour of northern breweries with Jazz88).

old rating from a notebook. batch 3. smells like pleasure. so tart an acidic fruit and sweat and things that shouldnt make me smile. my jaw clenches just smelling this. tangy sour flavor that is so nicely soured and a pleasure to drink. only thing i'm missing is a good goat cheese. there is a light tannic grape note in the finish that works well. makes the cut on my lip and mouth burn so bad. love the burn. embrace it.
