Wild Beer Pogo
Can from We Brought Beer Balham, London - UK. Color: clear golden blond beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: fruity domination, passion fruits and citrus notes orange and lemon. Pineapple notes. Very fruity and juicy. Taste: light body with fruity juicy domination, passion fruits and citrus. Orange and lemon, pineapple notes. Very fruity, don’t feel to drink a beer. Sweet and wet bitterness, high attenuation. Aftertaste: sweet juicy and wet bitterness, passion fruit and orange. More lemonade than a beer.

11.2 oz. bottle as "Iduna Cru"; shared with Boo. Aroma: Moderate musty apple juice and gum; lighter pepper, hay and lemon. Appearance: Hazy gold color with a foamy white head that settles into a bubbly skin. Flavor: Bittersweet cider up front with a gum yeast background; more saison-like towards the finish with lemon and eventually pepper; I wouldn’t call the finish dry exactly, and it does carry on with something reminiscent of white grape. Palate: Full body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, long finish. Overall: I thought this was "fun" more than anything else; close enough to saison to fit in the category broadly speaking, but different enough to be it’s own thing altogether.

Wild Beer Sleeping Lemons Export
Pours a hazy golden with a white rim on top that leaves low lacing. Nose is of lemon and some kind of funk I can’t say I enjoyed much. A bit muddled, I’m not sure what this beer is supposed to be. Taste is spicy and moderately tart, really salty. I like goses and salt but this one is pushing my limit, really. Nice lemons. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and it felt a little heavy to me for a gose. Overall it was cool to try but I thought it was a little boring and worlds away from the benchmarks of the style. Goses, just like berliners and saison should be incredibly drinkable/quaffable and this was not.

750ml bottle. Barely clear, yellow-ish golden colour with no head whatsoever, a handful of white bubbles at the bezel. Rice wine and plum wine aroma, somehow grainy fruitiness, hints of green apple and apple parings, citrusy yuzu overtones, some peppery yeasty spiciness. Taste is sweet and dry, fruity, notes of plum wine, hints of green apple, yuzu, some warming alcohol in the finish; full body, soft carbonation, soft and slightly sticky palate.

Wild Beer Pogo
Can at home. Hazy dull orange colour and a modest but respectable head. Aroma of course fruity, reminiscent of a diluting cordial. Orange and pineapple certainly present - I’m not as familiar with guava so it doesn’t jump out. No surprises in the mouth, but a little bitterness cleans off the finish. Simple but effective, easy drinking fruit + beer combo.

Wild Beer Fresh
Pint at Jeremiah’s. Pours hazy lemon colour. Deceptive, as it has a much bigger hoppy, slightly musty aroma than that suggests, with some pineapple and mango. That combo is reflected on the taste. It’s a bigger beer than the appearance and initial mouthfeel suggests. A really good APA, with a few marks off as it does fade somewhat midway through the pint.

Wild Beer Smoke n Barrels - Autumn
Bottle at home, not sure where I picked this up. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is rich, bitter - sweet, toffee, rather smokey, meaty, bacon frazzles, wood and cherry cola. The taste is dry, quite sweet upfront, cola, candi sugar, toffee, smoked malts, wood, applewood smoked cheddar, spice, earth, orchard fruits, raisin, dried berry and some alcohol warmth with a drying and woody finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather interesting, but a bit too drying after a while.

On tap at Vultures Lane. Caramelised orange peel, bread, fudge, tropical fruit juice. It’s honestly just a bit boring, with an overpowering malt base leaving the tropical fruit as an indistinct mix rather than the nice clean fruit flavours I wanted. Rare miss from one of my favourite breweries.

Grand tasting at Craft Islington with Hackobock. Thanks to Fergus. Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry, decent fine carbonation. Sour citric fruits, light lemon and orange. Little lemon sherbet. Some floralness before a tangy citric finish. Not as aggressive as some recent Wild Beers. Not bad.
