Pint at the brewery. The menu here lists this as a stout and I have to say I agree with the current menu. The pour is quite dark with an everlasting head sporting complex topography. This dark tan head is evidence of a bit more dark roasted malt than a Black IPA, more like a stout. The aroma is straight up American stout. Rich espresso and cacao make up the malty notes with grapefruit and pine highlighting things a bit. The palate is full with aggressive roast and espresso, more indicative of a stout. Subtle ale yeast notes provide hidden fruitiness. Decent body and appropriate residual sugar. Bitterness is pretty high, giving great balance to the malty body. The finish is roasty and bittersweet. Quite an enjoyable American style stout.

Very Nice Royal We IPA
Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (grass, herbs), with notes of celery, cat pee, butter, concrete. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Oof...this is kinda like mixing an old, faded IPA with a Russian swill lager. Absolutely terrible.

Very Nice Pale Ale
Shared a pint at the brewery in Nederland. The beerhad a semi-cloudy amber-orange color with a huge foamy and creamy white head with excellent retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured nice citrus, pine, and earthy hope with touches of lemon and grain. The taste was a nicely bitter grain, citrus, and line blend with a touch of malt. The beer had average carbonation with a good and filling mouthfeel and a dry finish.

Enjoyed a pint at the brewery in Nederland. Thick black color with a deep Ruby hue and a very large, super creamy head with excellent retention cling, and lacing. Coffee, chocolate, earthy and roasty aroma with light malt and some bread and grain for balance. Taste was mostly sweet with chocolate, coffee, and caramel malt, along with a slight earthy and grainy bitterness. It was mostly wet and fairly creamy with good carbonation and a nice smooth finish. Chose not to add the tsmptingshot of espresso..

Very Nice Pale Ale
Bright, fruity, tropical and gum like with a growing marijuana, blueberry and cedarwood note that suggests New Zealand new world hops. There’s a nice fuzzy peach note as well that gives it more appeal. Soft and velvety carbonation with an oily, juicy approach. Body is balanced, finish bitterness high but it works well with the sugar and carbonation levels. Clean new world pale ale that beats the IPA by a mile in terms of flavor and drinkability.

Draft. Lightly hazed gold with a small white head, looks more like kristalweizen. Simple banana candy aroma. Semi-sweet, syrupy, medium-light bodied, somewhat under-attenuated. Banana esters and mild phenols. Fizzy and brash carbonation, watery and thin in the finish with a dried banana slice (trail mix) character. Simple malt, simple yeast, a little starchy in the mouth.

Good beer. Roasted malt and floral and pine aromas. Dark as a stout with a creamy head. Medium bodied with strong carbonation, which tended to move it away from stout territory. Bitterness and toast up front that lingered into a woody and slightly smoky maltiness.
