BlueTarp Novemberfest
Pours a nice copper brown on tap with fluffy off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of nice malty sweetness, hint of lager yeast esters, and a mild earthiness. Taste follows, a well done marzen lager. My only thing is it was on tap in July, is that from last year?

BlueTarp Grapefruit Funk Weisse
Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with bubbly white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of mild acetaldehyde, hint of fruit citrus notes in the middle, mild lactic funk at the end. Taste follows, unfinished fermentation, but the fruit and acidity is there to a mild extent. Maybe the pH was too low for the yeast to do it’s thing effectively?

BlueTarp Juicin’
Pours a hazy yellow on tap with fluffy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of nice juicy fruit forward hop notes and a hint of biscuit malt. Taste follows, but it seemed to fall off as I drank it, almost like the hops were in the keg and it made them oxidize in the the glass. Tasty enough, but it needs a little more work I think.

BlueTarp Mother Hoppin’ Double IPA
Pours a slightly hazy golden brown on tap with fluffy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of big oxidized caramel malt and piney hop notes with a hint of booze behind. Tastes like a light struck beer with loads of oxidation, but not sure how that happened, booze on the back end. This may have been solid at some point but it’s just super oxidized now and the booze makes it assertive.

BlueTarp Go Funk Yourself
Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of farmhouse funk up front and a hint of fruity hop notes on the back end, but overwhelmingly oxidized. Taste is more of the oxidation, dry bretty farmhouse notes abound, hops are lost. Decent, but could be a bit old.

BlueTarp BantamWeight Ale
Pours a hazy copper red on tap with fluffy tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of nice toasty malts and a mild fruity ale yeast on the back, taste follows with a hint of roast. One of the better ones of the day for sure, super drinkable.

BlueTarp All I Want For My Birthday Is a Big Booty Baltic Porter
12 oz. with no canning date. Mild gusher is an opaque ebony pour with a giant spongy foam that finally settles to a sticky cobweb. Aroma is oxidation, blackberry, soy and molasses. Tastes of toffee, raspberry, earthy spice mix and dark toasted bread. Finish has some toasted walnut, banana and coffee. Medium-plus body has a nice balance and a medium carbonation. Extra overall point for uniqueness, but not something I would seek out again. Seems like one of my early home brew attempts that got infected but was drunk early and turned out OK.

This stuff rocked. Everyone in the place loved it. Perfect sour. Nice body, cherry nose, not a super sour blast. Well sometimes I really like that. These brewers really seem to get ’it.’ Hope they have much success.

BlueTarp Go Funk Yourself
Pretty nice, was described as a Wild by the brewers, brett adds a bit of a farmhouse edge funk, not used to sour/lower the pH, not that I understand the how or why. Dry, and funky with tropical notes.

BlueTarp Hopsided IPA
Bland by the latest standards, either the West coast blast stye or the vermont juice bomb style. Had a bit of dankness, that did not help. None of us thought that much of it, but I like that this did not remind me of every other IPA on earth.

BlueTarp Fünk Weisse
This was pretty good, tart with a dry finish, way less fruity than I am used to for a berliner but I’ll admit I have no idea what true to style is in this category. A bit of lemon. Only negative to us was a corn-adjunct taste.

Listed elsewhere as an Irish Red, this was different than a typical amber, lots of roasted stout-like character. Very very light as it was a session ale. Enjoyable.

Pretty solid, true to style. Monster palate, nose, body, but does not overwhelm, big whiff of roasted goodness and chocolate. On tap at the brewery.

12oz can, foamed hard, then poured a lightly hazy yellow with some sudsy white head. Nose is lemon, a little industrial, yogurt, a little white wine vinegar. Flavor is simple, lemon, light vinegar, a little butter. Tart finish.

Single from Ale Yeah. Quickly dissipating tan head. Milky creamy texture with a touch of toasty malt on the finish. A little bitter and acidic finish as well. Good body, well done from these guys.

Maltiest IPA you’re likely to have in a while. Tons of caramel as others have said. Unbalanced IPA’s are the norm; however this pendulum swung to the other side. Not a bad thing necessarily. Sneaky ABV. Good beer, wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again, however.

BlueTarp / Ale Yeah Durty South
Pours translucent chocolate brown with a nice buff head. Aroma presents toasted malt, cinnamon, caramel and nutty notes. Flavor features all that the aroma promises and then some. Firm body has OK fizz. Get down and "durty."

So, it a session amber? Isn’t that kind of redundant? I mean, I just usually assume an amber is a session ale, unless they call an "Imperial Amber" or something goofy like that. Anyway, this was a little malty, with hints of toast and chocolate, and and subtle, woody hops.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a reddish brown color with a giant thick tan head. The aroma is hops and malt. The taste is a heavy on grain and has a metallic aftertaste. If the metal taste was removed it would have a much higher score.

BlueTarp Last Place Stout
On tap at 2016 Hogs and Hops. Near black, opaque body that looks thick and is topped by a short head that’s not very durable. Thick, viscous full body with appropriate light carbonation. Excellent aroma with admirable complexity. Dark bread, dark dried fruits and vanilla. Flavor is disappointing after this great aroma. It lacks balance, has strong sweet and bitter notes that don’t counterbalance, is too boozy, and has too much char. Overall: OK for style.

4/5/16. 12oz can from Hop City. Black pour under a small tan head, but loads of lacing, basically coats the glass. Rich aroma, loads of chocolate, some church basement coffee, a metallic tinge. Good flavor, loads of chocolate again, almost reminds me of Hersey syrup, but the roasted malts balance it out with a roasty dryness and a touch of pennies. Not bad.

BlueTarp Last Place Stout
Can. Listed as 12.5%. Black pour with a thin dark brown head. Aroma was charred malt, burnt marshmallow, dark cocoa, touch of coffee and smoke. Flavors were slightly astringent, bits of dark cocoa, licorice, roasty malt, lingering, slightly bitter smoky finish. Mouthfeel was surprisingly on the medium side given the ABV. It’s certainly more dry than I was suspecting. Overall a nicely attenuated, big, roasty stout.

Can. Pours dark copper with a thick and foamy buff head that pillows. Aroma presents woody hops and some hay, not much else. Flavor, fortunately, surpasses the aroma - hoppy, resiny, hay, malty and subtle fruity notes all add to the taste chord. Mouthfeel features decent body and fizz, while finish has hoppy and hay tones. Kill this cascade.

Overly cloying and sweet - I am an IPA/Double lover but this one is a fail; drank the first can of a sixer and had to go to my beer fridge for a Sweetwater IPA to cleanse my palate.

Atlanta, Ga - Taco Mac - Virginia Highlands - 12 oz can. Dark copper pour, bone colored head with a nice web of lacing. Aroma of ripening apricots, some maple syrup sweetness. Lots of bad homebrew-like crystal malt over-wroughtness, light citrus bitterness, some apricot fruitness. Thick enough mouthfeel. Not writing home about this one.

Pours a jet black from the crowler with minimal ring of bubbly tan head that doesn’t really leave lace. Aroma of tart dark fruit wotth lactic acidity overpowering the chocolate and dark roast underneath. Taste follows, booze is hidden, but only because the sourness is so intense. Assertive, but not too much, big but still feels kind of thin. Don’t get the wood, hardly any stout, but not bad.

Good beer courtesy my Secret Santa. Thanks man. If I had tried this blind I would’ve rated this as a sour ale. No imperial stout characteristics. Aroma was sour cherries and vinegar.. Pour was a deep dark brown/near black with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was deliciously sour. Strong vinegar and sour cherry were in your face and close to mouth puckering. Alcohol hidden perfectly. Nice carbonation. As it warmed, more tartness came out.

Sample at the brewery. Nice, cloudy ruby-brown color, with crap-tons of foam (but that was probably the idle tap line, not the beer). The nose is bready malts, black tea, and caramel. The flavor is malty, but relatively dry, with not much hop bitterness, and a touch of roastiness. Medium body, grainy, and thick. This is a nice, easy Irish ale. Great malt character, and a unique flavor.

Sample at the brewery. Pale yellow color, with a big, frothy, off-white head. The nose is sharp mandarin oranges, apricots, butterscotch, and lemon zest. the flavor is sweet and citrusy, with an aggressive sourness. Medium body, very acidic, crisp, and surprisingly smooth. This is a wonderfully tasty, fruity, and tart beer. The apricots give this a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, and the souring is perfect for the base beer. I’d highly recommend this.

Crowler from the brewery. Pours black, with a big, rocky, tan head. The nose is tart black cherries, dark chocolate, cinnamon, molasses, and lemons. Flavor is sweet and a little bitter, with a fairly significant sourness that is a little unpleasant. Pretty boozy, and warming in the finish. Medium to heavy body, oily, and sticky. This is a very interesting and fun beer, but a little confused and unfocused.

Crowler shared with jrob21. The aroma was offputting, like nail polish or turpentine. Just off. The taste thankfully did not show these characteristics that much. Very tart cherries, big malty body, lots and lots of cherries. Rather one dimensional, but a certain step up from the aroma.

Crowler from the brewery on the first day you could do that. It’s a grand time in Georgia finally. Really nice fruity sour beer. Lightly tart and light body. Nice apricot fruit working in the flavor. Pungent fruity nose and pretty entertaining. Lacking some of the complexity of the bigger boy fruited sours but a really nice drink. Missing the turpentine aromas of the cherry so it seems like that was a one time thing.

Crolwer from the brewery and shared at westmeisters. Aroma is a little off and too reminiscient of paint thinner. The flavor is really nice though. Lots of fruit with a decent bit of tartness. Good brown sour malt body going on. Some sweetness and a finish that has a lot of cherry fruit again. After the aroma this is pretty nice.
