Burk restaurant krokius. Yeeees.

Can. Sensoric. Amber/burnt orange with medium, thick, white head. Average head retention and average lacing. Nose is the balanced mixture of candy-like/sugary notes with moderate piney and citrus (grapefruit) character. Taste is moderately bitter and increase thru the degustation, beginning is semi-sweet than with the bitterness the beer becomes semi-dry in the very end. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, finish is bitter and semi-dry. Lightly ABV warming after few whiles. What to say classical IIPA. The addition of juice and zest gives it improvement in taste like more sweet and balanced character. Highly drinkable and worth trying.

Slightly hazy dark orange color with slightly off-white head. Aroma has some booze and overripe oranges and grapefruit. Taste has oranges, some sweet malt in the background which combines quite well with the hops but the finish is quite dusty, earthy with medium bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Overall it’s a decent DIPA but it lacks some aromatic hops.

From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has lots of peach and other stone fruits! Both fresh peach, apricot, canned peaches. Light lactic, but also super fruity and prickly. Taste is rather sour up front. Lactic without being grainy at first, pretty salty, tiny subtle sweetness, super juicy, and then it ends off being slight grainy. Medium high carbonation and an oily body for the style.

From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a darkish amber/brown with a small off white head. Aroma has tons of esters, caramel, toasted malts, grilled banana, dates and raisins and some licorice. Taste is sweet, but not at all as sweet as the aroma due to a toasty dryness, and again this salmiak licorice. Finishes pretty yeasty dry. Average high carbonation and a full body.

750ml bottle shared with Luc, Pat and Chantal. Aroma: lots of cinnamon, spices, touch of alcohol. App: burgundy, minimal off white head, not much lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, liquoreux, light bitter finish. Overall: too much cinnamon and spices. I guess that’s what we can call a dessert beer. The nose could have fooled me and make think this is Mexican Cake. One glass is enough. I can’t imagine drinking more of it.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a Friday night at home before a super cold snap which I’m not looking forward to at all. Appearance is cloudy gold with a modest white head. Aroma is nice, light citrusy hop profile mixed with light caramel malt. Taste is more hop forward, definitely adds to the complexity while maintaining a nice crisp finish. This is solid stuff.
