Propolis Spruce (2015+)
Draught @ Rogue / Convention. Pours a cloudy amber colour. Nose is floral and frunky. Flavour is stone fruit both sweet and tart, plenty of funk, and what I can assume is spruce.

Dark brown, no head. Sharp, distinctive roast, tart and dark fruits with a whack of roast. It’s okay for what it is, though I still have issues with dark sours.

Draught, Darby’s Gastown. Hazy amber-brown...nice head but the body isn’t so attractive. Aroma has light brett, pepper, coriander. On the palate, brett is evident but it’s still quite yeasty with biscuity malts. Herbs aren’t as distinguishable, much more muddled, but fruitier than what came through on the nose.

Propolis Flemish Wyrt
Propolis, Port Townsend. Dark coffee brown-black, dissipated head. Sweet coffee roast, earth on nose. Rather strong, sweet first impression. Chicory-coffee dominates the bottom of this, but there is a remarkably sweet red fruit over the top. Bitter digestif on one side, sweet dessert wine on the other. Flanders style stout, it seems. Fascinating.

Propolis Sigrid (2016 Wild Series)
Bottle from Smith’s. Hazy ruby pour with tan head. Nose was dark fruit, earthy, yeasty, with hops. Tasted too tart for a quad, approaching a Rodenbach or even Abbaye de St. Bon Chien level of flavor and tartness, and of course all beer fans are going to shoot their loads over that description. You can call this one whatever you want, but it something you’ll want to put in your eager mouth over and over again.

Propolis Granum (2015+)
Hazy orange-amber body with a decent head. Complex herbal nose, like a profusion of spring on a zephyr. Hyssop and sage at the front of the bouquet, with a gentle mysterious elixir behind it. Body is also flavored by hyssop sage and a delightful, playful medley of cottage garden herbs. Perhaps an intimation of honey? One of the true standouts at the 2017 Seattle Belgian Fest.
