i love 5 stones, top 10 TX brewer, but this wasn’t very good. big time gusher .. spice, yeast, stale paper, berry, cinnamon .. odd combo .. mouth kills itself quick, gushed, bubbly, then almost flat .. . Some guy workin’ at Home Depot, he wants to fuck just as many women as a celebrity. But he can’t do it, because whores don’t care about lumber

Lightly hazy yellow orange pour with a couple bubbles of head. Aroma is sweet peach and grain. Taste is very short sugary peach and then not much else. No carbonation, which makes it feel heavy.

5 Stones Rain on the Scarecrow
Tastes like rainwater filtered through a man made of straw. Way better than Rain on the Tin Man, which is to rusty and finishes with a harsh metallic tang. Pretty funky so I’m guessing they used the scarecrow from The Wiz.

As expected, another interesting beer. Great pumpkin and spice aroma with flavors to match with just a hint of oak and rum. Slightly sweet but not overly so. Brown sugar color and weighty.

5 Stones I’ll Be Your Basilberry
Bottle from Spec’s. Clear red-amber with no head. Light aroma of berries, some sourness, and maybe a hint of basil, if any. Almost flat, not sure if that’s intentional or not, and light-medium bodied and dry. Fruity but not really sweet or sour or anything, more of just a dull dry nondescript fruitiness.

Hazy orange pour with thin tan head. Aroma is very floral, which I guess shouldn’t be surprising. Taste is very fruity but not in a fruit beer way and I actually would not have guessed mango if it didn’t say that on the label. Interesting but not my favorite.

It’s like drinking raspberry crumble only less crunchy. This is already a ridiculous combination so I can’t help wondering how it would be served over ice cream with granola. Or maybe that would just be redundant. Anyway, very tasty. Not too sweet despite the fruit and brown sugar, though still not something I’d pair with tamales or BBQ.

Nut brown on steroids. I’m not a big nut eater so to me it was just "really nutty" but they say it includes almonds, pecans, walnuts, filberts and Brazil nuts. Filberts are also known as hazelnuts. Who would call a nut "filbert"? Nutella and Frangelico are made with hazelnuts. I like this beer better than either of those, though probably not just because of the other nuts involved.

Ale with peaches, heavy on the ale. The peaches are certainly there but are relatively subtle. Certainly better than tasting like a peach soda, though!

Kind of mediocre beer. For a smoked, spicy, barrel aged beer, there was a surprising lack of zing from any of the special ingredients. Not much more than a hint of any. Courtesy of mom and dad in 2016.

Nice blend and good to drink it fresh. Aromas and flavors of citrus hops, definite grapefruit with a slight harshness but not unfriendly. Corriander seemed to even it out some. Cloudy light golden color. Full palate and nicely carbonated.

I think rum was a great barrel choice for aging this beer. Bourbon would have made it too sweet and probably cover up the subtler smoky/spicy notes. The rum adds a bit of liquor bite and woodiness without competing.

Yet another interesting, tasty concoction from 5 Stones. Pours a hazy pinkish orange with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast and faint cinnamon. Taste is similar with a light sourness, perhaps from the cranberries?
