Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong peach flesh, funk, oak, lemon zest. Medium body, light peach, nice funk, low acidity, soft finish, really enjoyed this.

Perfect blend of tart and funk as these guys are known to do. Nice element of peach fruit. Could be the funk. Could be the fruit. Could be a combo of both.

Bottle at Jez’s Bday. This is one of those beers that sticks with you. Reminds me a lot of Beer Geek Vanilla Shake Bourbon but it’s bigger and has slightly more depth. Huge honeycomb and sweet vanilla with some earthy spicy rye forward notes behind the intense coconut. Super rich but balanced superbly. A giant of a beer all in proprtions even with everything that’s going on

25.4floz (750ml) bottle, #4 (no bottling date), paid $14, consumed 03.21.2017 from a tulip glass. This may have been brewed at Side Project’s brewery, which is up and running with a tasting room too. Bright gold, bubbly ale where as the head settles it forms a ring along the glass. Aromatics are of clove and bubble; however, my mouth senses sour green apple, and grass flavors. I was taken aback upon first taste of this fizzy, dry, and light bodied beer. Then it got better as I became acclimated to it. Respect.

750 ml bottle to goblet (Blend #2). Been chasing this whale for awhile now, and am happy to have harpooned it. Looks solid; a murky brown with no visible carbonation. Smells great! Loads of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and oak. Tastes like it smells, but less decadent, with a warming and pleasantly boozy full-bodied mouthfeel. A delicious sipper, but glad I didn’t become a eunuch to get the tick.

375 ml bottle to stemmed glass (Blend #2). Looks good; a cloudy lemony mango with white head that steadily dissipates into thinner lacing. Smells good too; a nice balance of oak and funk up front followed by a nice apricot presence. Tastes like it smells with a tart and mildly to moderately acidic medium-bodied mouthfeel. Tasty.

750 mL bottle. Hazy pinkish red body. Smells of cherry pie, spice, and some plastic. Eh. Tastes of a nice cherry flavor up front. Nice fruity sourness. Oak. A little plastic and rubber in the back end. Kinda ruins it. Medium body with medium carbonation. Not Side Project’s best.

750 mL bottle. Hazy orange body with a big white head. Smells very oaky. Lemony and kinda grassy. Tastes of tons of oak as well. Some soft tropical fruitiness. Lemon and a bit of lime sourness. Dry grassy and an oaky finish. Medium body. While I still think Fermier is a phenomenal saison, this doesn’t quite have the depth of flavor without the strong wine component that it usually has.

Bottle at Solar Eclipse Part 3: The Darkest Hours. It pours hazy golden with a creamy dense head. The aroma is juicy and acidic with notes of ripe peaches and light barnyard. Clean stuff. The flavour is vinegar and peaches with quite sourish notes and lacto like sourness. Very drinkable but he vinegar is a bit too profound.

Pours golden orange with a fast fading white head. Aroma is mildly funky with a moderate orange pulp backbone. Flavor starts with a punch of citric acid that fades to a moderate tartness. Finishes with a mild barnyard flavor. Aftertaste is a lingering tartness. Delicious but the tartness masks the saison qualities a lot.

Pours golden in color with a fizzy white head that fades quickly. Aroma is of mild Brett and lacto with a crisp and refreshing citric quality. Flavor is so well balanced that it jumps between sweet, tart and mildly bready. I nice touch of funk in the aftertaste. Just all around enjoyable to drink.

Sour, fruity & tiny funky taste. Dry, tart & slightly puckering mouthfeel. Sour apricot-heavy finish. rubber smell bugs me but there’s some awesome apricot character here.

Bottle courtesy of Carl. Murky fairly ugly brownish red pour with a frothy beige head. Musty fruity nose with dark bread, musty sweet cherries, plums, lemon, soil, leather, apples & hints of barnyard. tiny sweet, sour, tiny malty, fruity, doughy & tiny buttery taste. Soft, round, slightly dry & tart mouthfeel. Nice smell but taste is too young with dough & butter. Give it time if you have a bottle (wrote this ~6 months ago so would be cool to retry the beer now).

750ml B1. Hazy bright yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is tart lemon, some peach and berries.Taste is bright sour, mild acidity, lemon and peach. Doesnt have the wine subtleties of the regular but otherwise just as good as the regular.

Had this on draft at the brewery the day of the release and my main take away was how oaky it was. Two months later out of the bottle and it’s completely different.
