Pike Naughty Nellie
Draft at the Taproom, Bangkok. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, light hop bitter, some citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a watery light crisp, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Way too light all around and with little flavour.

Pike IPA
Draft pour pint at The Collective, Woodinville. Listed as IPA 207, whatever they are trying to tell us there, it seems obvious, but it could be anything I suppose. A toasty malt aroma and flavor. Sweet, and slightly warming for an IPA. Subtle lingering bitterness. Caramel heavy, nice cool hop bitterness finish. Tasty

Pike Pale
Bomber from Total Wine, Gainesville. Pours amber brown with a small dusting of a beige head. Aroma of honey, fall leaves, slight fruits. Flavor is nutty leaves, light fruitiness, a little citrusy but that’s quickly taken over by the roasted malt. Totally drinkable, but not out of this world.

Pike Old Bawdy
It pours cloudy medium brown with a tinge of orange and a light brown head. The aroma has plenty of sweet malt with bread and caramel. It also has aroma of plums and floral elements. It also has hints of citrus that is orange like. The malt is predominant with a balance between the esters and hops in the background. The malt flavors are sweet with the hop balance being somewhat aggressive with a moderate alcohol element in the taste. It has bread and caramel malt richness in the flavors with floral hops and citrus that in orange like. There are also hints of plums and the alcohol does has a hint of whiskey element in it as well. It has a chewy body with moderately high alcohol warming that is a slight tinge hot, but not unpleasant. It is somewhat dry and the floral hops and dryness linger on the palate. Overall, this is a malt forward barley wine that is moderately hop aggressive as the beer warms.

Charlie Papazian bottle. Sweet and spicy aroma. Spot on with the winter spices. Nicely balanced by the malt. Would be good with a pumpkin pie. Where’s that pie anyway?!?

Bomber from total wine. Pours golden with a large white head, lacing nicely down the side of the glass. Aroma of citrus hops, sugar, melon, honey. Flavor is honey water, floral hops, bread crumbs, grasses, light citrus. Pike Kilt Lifter - Wood Aged
Bottle:   Dark caramel, dirty, thin frothy head, sandy colored, little lacing.   Big sweet caramel woody nose.   Sweet caramel biscuitiness up front, woody on the back.   Mildly sweet, with a faint hint of tartness on the backside.   Somewhat smooth, but the backside is slightly astringent.   Smells and tastes great right up front.   Backside falls off quickly, leaving only a bit of woodiness.   As it warms a little alcohol and vanilla come out.   A bit warming too.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Lingering woodiness, some caramel and toffee notes albeit minor, with faint peat and campfire.   Barrel aging seems to dominate up front, the beer itself comes out well after the finish.   Tiz OK.

Bottle, courtesy of Arun. Reddish brown colour. American view of what a beer from Scotland looks like but none the worse for that. Not overly smoky thank god, sweetish malty ale with a correct if mild bitterness keeping it drinkable. Nice enough.

3/IX/16 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle from the brewery, shared @ RBBSG V (Klaas’ place) - BB: n/a (2016-947) Thanks to Mathieu for fetching me the bottle!

Somewhat surprised at the medium to "just good" ratings at the gathering. Judging from what was left in my bottle by the time it got to me, I could’ve sworn everybody would have given it a 4+...

Clear reddish brown to amber beer, irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, lots of dried fruits, caramel, sugary, malty. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots and lots of vanilla, bit sugary, caramel, pretty sweet, quite some bourbon. Aftertaste: more vanilla, caramel, sweet bourbon, dried fruits. Lovely beer indeed, at least judging from the few drops I had.

Pike Locale Skagit Valley: Alba
Bomber from La Bodega in Anchorage. Pours translucent gold with a slight white head. Aroma of white grapes and pale stone fruit. Not very strong, but very nice. Near med body. Flavor of white grape and that flavor of a peach where the pit was attached. Pretty dry. Decently bitter - finishing fruit/juicy, sort of. It may be underrated. A medium flavor strength that works well.
