Liberation Ale
Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as Liberation Ale, a Jersey-brewer. Pours a golden dark yellow, totally clear and still with a creamy grey-beige head that leaves full lacing. Aroma is light, touch eggy, white crispbread, maybe like someone's sweaty Lycra after a long cycle. Body is smooth with soft to tingly carbonation. Taste is thin, white bread and glue, little pale gravel or sand and pale wood shavings, fairly watery. Just enough bitterness to round out the end without really being a feature of the beer. Pretty wishy washy. Drinkable enough and nothing particularly wrong with it, but wouldn't order this one again. (4-4-5-3-12=2.8)

Liberation Ale
Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. It's a deep gold colour with a thin white head and a light but prickly fizz. Served in superb condition - this 'Spoons seems to be taking great care with its ales at the moment. Floral notes up front develop into a decent orange flavour with a little lemon, vanilla and caramel. It's slightly sweet with a tiny hint of dry bitterness in the finish. It's far from being a memorable brew - it is what it is, a lightweight session beer. However, the great condition it's been served in allows the subtle nuances to shine through, and I rather enjoyed it.

Liberation Ale
Gift from the sister-in-law. Weak honey floral aroma. Light gold. Lively white head. Light bitter. Something malty drifting about. Does develop some sugary sweetness. Peach. Light bodied. Thin. Fizzy carbon. Abrupt finish. Has slighly more character than the previous beer from the same brewery, however it's just bland as...

Gift from the sister-in-law. Floral and caramel. Some malt. Medium gold. Thin bright white head. Lightest of light bitter. A tad sour. Light bodied. Thin. Low key fizzy carb, as is the astringent edge to the finish. There's do littke going on here it could be soda water. Poor but inoffensive.

Liberation Ale
Being a beer lover, with a particular zeal for less well-known ales, I was delighted to discover that, despite its small size, Jersey can boast not one, but two delicious beers. Chilling in the hotel bar with my fiancée on our first evening in Jersey listening to an excellent local jazz band, I discovered the very tasty Liberation Ale. Light and zesty, with an appealing aroma and a slightly bitter aftertaste, Liberation is a must-try for beer-enthusiasts visiting the island. www.fintansbrewbook.com

Clear deep golden color with small white foam. Aromas of grassy and lightly floral hops, lightly citrusy, with light malty notes. Palate, light body, smooth texture leaving lightly bitter finish. Taste, lightly bitter of hops with sweet maltines and grassy/herbal notes. Overall, nice herbal/grassy hoppy beer with nice sweet malty touch, simple in a sense but refreshing and nice.

Cask at Canary Wharf Spoons. It pours clear yellow - gold with a small white head. The aroma is straw, toasted grass, mild sweetness, candied lemon and white bread. The taste is crisp, dry, quite floral, lemongrass, peppery spice, grass and straw with a dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Not a huge amount going on, but it drinks easy. Not bad.

Liberation Ale
A golden ale available in bottle and on draft in pubs on Jersey. It’s brewed using the maris otter & lager malt, golden hops provide bitterness while Syrian goldings and Hallertau Hersbrucker hops provide aroma. It’s has a hint of citrus on the nose. It’s a morish beer, with one often leading to two!
