2 B&T Phantom Thirst Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 04/11/2005. One of those beers that had a bit of food colouring added to it to make it a purple shade. I don’t think this really did anything to the beer, except mask the fact that it was a pretty unappetising, bland bitter. Wednesday, December 25, 2019

3.4 B&T Black Dragon Mild Pint from cask, drunk at Birmingham Airport Wetherspoon's, 2019-06-16. Appearance is opaque deep brown, with no visible carbonation and a thin but densely formed coffee colour head that disappears quickly. Basically what I want from a mild. Aroma has loads of roasted notes, with some coffee and maybe a hint of toffee? Not very complex but quite pleasant. Taste is good. Lots of dried fruit and chocolate, some light earthy hints perhaps. Palate is reasonable too. Medium bodied but nice and creamy/velvety. Quite a short finish, but it's surprisingly undry which I like. Overall, seems to be a pretty good mild. I guess I'd want a bit more on the nose, but can't fault it much as it's a good example of the style in my eyes and a nice pint. Sunday, June 23, 2019
