B&T Shefford Plum Mild
Cask (Elm Tree, Cambridge)
Salty preserved spiced plums aroma, sweetish, and definitely has the plum fruitiness. Totally liquoricey taste, harsh and slaty and chemical. Anna gets some elastoplast in the finish, and too much liquorice. Finish is definitely smoky and phenolic. A bit rough. Way too liquoricey, Iím sure they just threw in spiced dried plums into the brew.

Cask handpump at The White Horse, Banbury, Oxon, Sunday 5th March 2017 Pours very dark brown with nice cream textured and coloured head. Soft, easy drinking mild, not necessarily picking up plums but I guess that is the fruitiness Iím getting, a little thin (watery) smooth, ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Spring Spoonsfest 2016. End of barrel but Iíll take it. Wispy diaphanous blonde that could pass for a wheat itís that murky. TCP yeast and conifer with a corn-like biscuit finish. Lactic and nutty peanut hints. Shrub, grass and monkey nut nose. Hint of pith. Probably decent fresh. Some German lager herb and sesame.

Cask @ a spoons. A low boost golde thatís anorexic on body or palate, and quite frankly not very festive. A gimmick name and concept. Flavours of bready malts, lemon hops, citrus. Really mundane.

Cask handpull at The Crosse Keys Bishopsgate as íBanks and Taylor Santaís Slayerí. Golden yellow clear still foamy white head. Aroma is bready, light citrus. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is grainy, white bread, gluey, dusty, light bitterness. A nice and very drinkable balanced golden bitter. Looking through the ratings consistency might be a problem, but very good on this showing.

Tap from the barrel. Aroma is somewhere between smokehouse and outhouse with the malts roasted either crispy bacon or cheese and onion. Pours black coffee with broken flecks of lace. Tastes sour licorice and bitter coffee. As some one who likes most stout and porter I have to say this one is a taste Iíve yet to acquire. But the third taste was better than the first.

Cask, gravity dispense at The Railway, Putney. As íB&T Little Sheffí. Dark golden yellow, clear, still, small off-white head doesnít endure. Aroma is restrained with some toffee apple, sticky sweet. Body is smooth, low carbonation. Taste is pretty phenolic, burnt notes, woody, watery sugars, ash in water, not much bitterness. A weird watery smoke vibe. I actually donít mind this due to my messed up palate, but itís clearly not as intended from their deScription.
