On tap at Friendship. It poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of apples, spices and yeast. The taste was similar to the aroma with more apples, spices, yeast, funk, some grain and a medium to dry finish. Good stuff.

Logboat Fly Bye Farmhouse Ale
12floz can, BBD: 10.19.2017, paid $9 for a six-pack, poured this one into a tulip glass. It appears a cloudy straw color with a head that settles to a thin layer. Barnyard aroma translate to a grassy, black peppery, and hay palate that medium in body. A fairly good table beer.

Logboat Bennie Mocha Stout
Tasted on tap in a sampler glass at 2017 Centennial Fest, it poured black with thin beige foam. Typical milk stout base plus coffee and chocolate, just what you’d expect. Heavy body, low carbonation, sticky aftertaste. Pretty good, way too much residual sweetness for my taste, but that’s the case with all these trendy milk stouts.

Logboat Bobber Lager
Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is some pale malt and not much else. Flavor is a heavier than usual malt mouthfeel for a lager. I do get some hoppy bitterness after the swallow. Definitely a more fuller bodied beer than your macro lagers.

Logboat Snapper IPA with Coffee
12floz can (COD: 03.17.2017), bought as a four-pack for $6. Poured into a nonic pint glass. Appears with a hazy body that is light-orange-yellow in color. A sticky beige head adorns the glass’s contents. Good citrus, coffee grounds, and green leaves aromas present before imbibing truly begins. Oily, fruity-floral hops are most pronounced, then weak watered down coffee, and then white bread notes completes the round of taste. Onto the palate that is full in body and chewy with all that is going on here. I appreciate this American IPA for its judicious approach to adding coffee. The uniqueness worked, but some people might be surprised if the buy this thinking it’s regular Snapper, since the label looks very similar except "with coffee" in smaller print on the front. I could possibly go for this again.

Logboat Mamoot Nitro
Draft ($3 + tip, nonic pint). It is supposed to be nitro, but it ’don’t’ look like a nitro, I’ve had before from a can, draft, the coffee nitro, and Mr. Moot (a different beast - a mediocre American strong malty ale). I’ll blindly rate as if I did get the nitro as it was still pretty good. Aroma is great, I detect hazelnut. Appearance has minimal head atop a good looking chestnut colored body (coulda been a 3 if considered as the standard Mamoot). Low carbonation, but not creamy as a nitro should, but okay (4 rating if as a mild, 2 as a nitro = 3). Easy to drink, yet provides some body and a good light caramel flavor.

Logboat Coffee Mamoot
12 oz. can. Dark brown with some foam that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is coffee and that translates to the flavor. All kinds of malt notes. This is earthy and just a bit floral. Nice and fairly flavorful for the low ABV and style.

Logboat Bear Hair Belgian Blonde
12floz can (BBD: 07.26.20017), paid $9 for six-pack, 6.5% ABV, poured into a tulip glass. It’s a hazy gold, with some head, and a few pieces of sediment at the bottom. Nose is mostly derived from the yeast - all spice and mildly of banana. Decent enough peppery-straw taste and medium body with soft carbonation. I recall having this on draft a couple years back, and thought it was a "hair" better then. Regardless it is fine as is.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a decent slight candi sugar and cloves. Flavor is a big sugar sweetness and then comes a bit of fruity yeast ester and more clove. For as sweet as this begins this finishes quite dry. The ABV on my can says this is 6.8% not 4.8% so maybe the recipe changed. This was decent but a bit too sweet. Kind of a mix between a German Hefe and a Belgian wit.

It pours amber with an off white head. The aroma is tons of Simcoe funk and toasted malt. It has a fairly full body. The taste is more malty than the aroma but still has some funk. Decent.

Logboat Bennie Mocha Stout
Can to plastic pint cup. The can says it’s 9% abv. Looks good; a lightly translucent dark cola with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, coffee, and mild roast. Tastes like it smells with some bitterness, either from the roast, hops, or a combination of the two. Mouthfeel is medium-full to full-bodied, silky, and pleasantly bitter. Tasty.

On tap at 109 Brews. It poured a brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of coffee with some malts. The taste was similar to the aroma with more coffee, malts, caramel, and a coffee aftertaste. This was labeled as Fretboard Coffee. Not bad.

Pour is a black with a small white head. Aroma is cocoa and roasted malt with some black licorice. Flavor is A big roast, some chocolate and cocoa and a noticeable but not overpowering alcohol. Pretty nice but I did not get any coffee. My can said this was 9% and I did not get any alcohol. This was decent with plenty of roasted malt and chocolate flavor.

Logboat Snapper IPA with Coffee
It pours dull golden with a white head. The aroma has pine and grapefruit hops, toasty malt and just a bit of coffee. It has a medium body with mild carbonation. The taste has the aroma notes with more coffee, but in good balance with the hops. The mix works much better than it sounds like it should. Look forward to other fretboard collaborations. Fretboard is always a stop when driving through Columbia, so want more in my beers.

12floz can bought as a single in a mix-six pack for $10 (retails for about $9 per six-pack). BBD 05.11.2017 marked on the bottom. Consumed 03.25.2017. Appears a very dark-brown with minimal head in a pint glass. Rich aromatics of malt makes me believe something somewhat sweet and roasty is to come. Well, while the suggests something more intense (I know better with schwarzbier) the mouthfeel flushes quickly with a flash smokey and sans-meat jerky flavors. Yes there are notes of coffee and chocolate too, but are in sequential to the maltiness that lends a greater smoke flavor than the aforementioned descriptors. This is pretty good stuff, maybe a bit too flavorful for the style. Still, a firm pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty...pretty good beer.

Pour is a almost black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted and chocolaty malt, reminds me of store bought fudge. Flavor is roast and maybe a bit of black licorice, with a bit of anise. Thin as a lager should be but this is quite flavorful. This beer would go great with some hot off the fire bar-be-q.

Can purchased from Craft Beer Cellar Clayton. ABV listed as 9% not 8. Aroma is bitter dark roast, some hazelnut and slight booze. Glossy black color with light brown head, very nice looking. Tastes creamy, light coffee bitterness on the back end, slightly sweet, tons of mocha flavor. Aftertaste is lactose sweetness with a slight roast bite. Slick and smooth palate. This was excellent.

Pour is a kind of clear golden with a average white head. Aroma is a nice ginger with some wheat malt. Flavor is an eye opening ginger with a neutral grain backbone. I was surprised at how much ginger I got off of this. Not a sexy pick at the bar but it has a nice ginger flavor. Perfect for a after work happy hour beer, nice flavor and low alcohol.

Shaker pint draft at Shakespeare’s Pizza in Columbia, Missouri. The pour is a slight hazed yellow golden with not much of a white head. The aroma is lime, ginger and grain wheat. The taste is big ginger right away, along with lemongrass, general spice and finishes with the wheat grain. Some additional citrus in the finish. The palate is light to medium bodied with fine active carbonation and a dry clean ginger citrus finish.

12 oz. can from Craft Beer Cellar - Clayton. Pours a just barely cloudy bright gold with a small white head that settles into a ring and patchy film while leaving a few ropes and spots of lace in the glass. Good ginger throughout, with coriander, soap, wheat, mint, lemon, sweet bread, hay, and faint pepper. Light-bodied, with a fresh, herbal, botanical mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Nice sipper.

Logboat Mr. Moot
It pours brown with a dense reddish tan head. The aroma has toffee, molasses, dates, nuts, toasty malt, bread and a pleasing richness. It has a full rich body with soft carbonation. The taste is really big, not a big alcohol burn, but big dark toffee, earthy English yeast, caramel, molasses and some astringency on the finish. Very different that the regular Mamoot, but has a few similar qualities. Think I dig everything Mamoot from Logboat.

It pours reddish brown with a tan head. The aroma has powdered cocoa, rich coffee, bread and an obvious English slant. It has a medium body with soft carbonation. Logboat does a great mild, nice to see this variant.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is a decent hop but I get more of a bready maris otter type of malt. Flavor is herbal and spicy with some melon rind and a bready, dry malt. There has to be more than just pilsner malt here. This is decent and different with the use of German hops and more of a English style malt bill.

12 oz. can from Craft Beer Cellar - Clayton. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a finger of rocky, frothy off-white head that laces the glass while settling into a thick ring and patchy film. Malt-forward, with pale, toasted, cereal, and caramel malts, tea, muddled fruit, straw, grass, and dusty grains. Almost some nuttiness. Light-medium bodied, with medium-plus carbonation and a malty, mildly bitter mouthfeel that has a subtle bite at the end. All right.
