Silver City Old Scrooge - Bourbon Barrel
500ml bottle, into a tulip glass. Pours clear thin reddish brown, almost no head. Aroma is big syrupy sweet molasses, dark caramel, vanilla, cola, bourbon. Heavy sweetness. Taste is similar - same flavor profile, a bit less sweet here, creamy body, oaky dry finish. An odd beer. Tons of complexity and rich flavors. A cherry wood flavor with a slight smoked note comes out after a bit. Thinner than Iíd expect for both the style and the abv here. Plenty boozy though not much barrel character. Really good, especially as it warms, just a bit odd. Not sure what Iíd compare this against...

355ml can. Barely clear, yellow-ish golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally perfumed, strawy, pale malty aroma, floral-soapy, hoppy overtones. Taste is strawy, pale malty and floral, bitter hoppy, hints of white bread crust; rather watery.

355 ml can.
Pours clear golden color with a small white head. Lots of orange and pine on the nose, resinous hops and some pineapple. Flavor is resinous, bitter with some malts, orange and pineapple, some gooseberries on the finish. Refreshing and clean, good straightforward IPA.

Silver City Ridgetop Red Ale
355ml can. Minimally cloudy, amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty and minimally earthy, grassy, aroma, hints of dark berries. Taste is slightly dry and minimally fruity hoppy, hints of dark berries and cherry, caramel malty background, an earthy-grassy touch as well. Not really worth a transcontinental and transatlantic journey.

Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate caramel, toffee, mild vanilla, fruit, and faint smoke. It pours a dark orangish-brown with some transparency when held to the light. It has a two finger beige head that eventually settles to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with light molasses, toffee, and mild caramel. The finish has moderate dark fruits, light roast, mild Scotch/smoke, and a touch of vanilla. Itís medium-full bodied with light carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel.

Silver City Citra Wet Hop Pale Ale
Bottle from Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA
Hazy golden to amber color. Mild aroma, more vegetables and caramel than the expected hops; as too often happens, the wet hops provide more earthy notes than fruity notes. Dry mouthfeel; caramel and grainy notes, earthy hops, with a very mild orange peel tough.
Clean beer, not complaining about any flaw, but the whole wet hop concept hasnít been approached correctly, so the result is very uninteresting.

Silver City Citra Wet Hop Pale Ale
22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is fairly grassy and herbal in the hop department, with a little feet, and toasted biscuity malt. Flavour is likewise heavy on the herbal hops, with some grassy notes and stale biscuity malt. Too herbal and feet-like. Not too exciting or pleasant.

Silver City Das Nachwachter Haus
Black with a creamy tan head. Rather strong oaky and whiskey aroma with very light sweet malt. Medium bodied. Faint roasted malt notes but I may be confusing that with the woody notes. Medium bitter finish. Very interesting. The barrel overwhelmed the base beer profile but still good.

Can. Golden colour, white foam. Seems somewhat ridiculous to say this smells of hops, but it really did smell like opening a pack of hops, as opposed to say grapefruit or pine. Flavours felt a little bit rough and raw round the edges - somehow didnít come together.

A: Caramel and some flower. A: See through burnt orange body. T: Flower, caramel, pine, and some juiciness. P: Crisp and bubbly. O: It didnít seem much like a Citra wet hop. The flavors were very subtle. This was the mildest beer of the fresh hop season for me.

Sweet and tropical citrus fruits. Some medium malt holding it up. Mild bitterness in the finish. Could use a bit more of a crisp finish and it would be a very bright and refreshing pale. As is, itís a decent, tropical APA.

Bottle thanks to beastiefan! Oh yeah. Classic cheap lager nose, modest adjunct, rice? Doesnít seem very corny. Light peppery and grassy German hop nose. Very clear, pale yellow. Minimal white head. Taste is sweet corn with a very light peppery note, spritzy mouthfeel, moderatelybsweet finish. A light green apple character in the very finish. Not bad.

Silver City Fat Scotch Ale
Pours a dark brown nearly black color with a bubbly head. Mineraly malted finish is pretty strong. Not a whole lot of peat coming through. Not bad, but not in love with this one - I'd prefer to drink Innis & Gunn any day over this despite Silver City being somewhat local. if I see it on tap I'll give it a whirl. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Silver City Whoop Pass Double IPA
22 Oz bottle. Pours clear orange gold with a creamy off-white head and decent lacing. Dank floral aromas with hints of bready malt and alcohol. Sweet, candy malt flavor giving way to generous piney and floral hop flavor with a long, dry hop linger. Medium body with creamy, slick mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, super delicious and great balance.

Silver City Citra Wet Hop Pale Ale
Bottle:   Orangish, soft white forthy head, little lacing.   Soft sweet floral hops.   Feels a bit candied, but is so minor.   Very Pale Ale, almost moreso malty than hoppy.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Clean clean, soft overall, hoppy but not bitter with a very soft citrus aspect.   Its not pith, nor peel, just a little bit of the middle bits.   Surprised on this one, clean, but could be a bit bigger.   Soft Pale Ale for sure, but still fairly tasty if even a little light.

Silver City Old Scrooge - Bourbon Barrel
Bottle:   Deep amber, caramel hues, small foamy light beige head, little lacing.   Bourbony nose, malty, sweet breadiness, caramel, slight dark pitted fruit on the nose.   Sweet caramel and bourbon up front, graham cracker, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, breadiness, and just a whole bunch of goodness.   Warming, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Better than expected.   Smooth finish.   Underlying beer is a bit overshadowed, but it still works.   Nice brew!

Silver City B-Town Sour Brown
Bottle:   Dirty dark caramel, a bit of a dark ruby hue, small soapy sandy head, sparce lacing.   Faint vinous nose, otherwise maybe some odd whole wheat bread and shallow fruitiness.   Doesnít seem like a dark pitted fruit sour type beer.   Very mild on the tongue, simply tart, and even then its only mildly tart.   Faint dark pitted fruit, with a little vinous like finish.   Moderate body and mouthfeel but bordering on thin.   Very weak example.   Hate to think of what I paid for this...

Silver City Foxy Lady
Bottle found at Red Apple in Bremerton. Pours a hazy mahogany with a small tan head that goes away very quickly and no lacing. Smell of berry, oak, and some wild yeast. Taste is tangy, sour, a little on the flat side, berry and fruit, and a little bit of wood. Ends dry in the mouth and sour, not worth the $14 for the bottle.

Bold red pour with a fizzy tan head. A bit of oak, berry fruit, tart, light earth. Has a mild sweet fruit note underneath. Finish is tangy and oak. It has some of the building blocks of a good Flanders but missing something that would pull it all together and make this a standout brew. As it is, itís middling.

Silver City The Giant Made of Shadows - Bourbon Barrel
Deep brown with a creamy tan head. Heavy bourbon and oak aroma, sweet dark malts, ripe fruit, booze. Medium and fairly smooth body. Flavor is dominated by the hefty bourbon and oak notes. The nuances of the standard Giant are mostly covered up by the barrel aging. Some sweet candied sugar and dark malts underneath with light dry cocoa. Itís good, but a bit too heavy on the barrel. The Giant is lost and just the barrel remains.

Silver City Nice Day IPA
Tap at the Wedgewood Alehouse.

Light orange pour, long-lived lacing. A classic PacNW IPA, grapefruit and a hint of pine, with less of the powerful resin that dominated the previous generation of efforts. Juicy, easy to drink and almost light at 5.5% but without lacking anything.

Quite a nice job putting this beer together, in my opinion.
