Harmon Black Tartan IPA
Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a fingerís worth of off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet to roasty malts, slightly like a combination of coffee to chocolate and then a developing piney bitter hops underneath. The flavor blended all of those previously mentioned aromas together and added a boost of earthy to semi-spicy tones to amplify the flavor. Hops kick a bit harder in the aftertaste and leaves a dry blended hops to malts finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body, perhaps almost closer to the medium side. Fair sessionability, good carbonation. ABV felt good. Overall, nicely done black IPA that I could come back to if I could.

Harmon Brownís Point ESB
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-transparent amber color with a thin cap of a white foamy head. A disarray of light lace. The aroma had some sweet grassy to earthy hoppy tones. Some malts, somewhat tea-like and lean. Light dose of biscuity to breadiness. The flavor leaned crisp and malty sweet with a touch of the smooth tea and earthiness. This all combines into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, nicely done ESB well worthy of having again, preferably with some fish níchips.

Harmon Steep & Deep Winter Ale
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark brown color with a fingerís worth of off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly stringy lace. The aroma had some roasty nuts, caramel and toffee malts and some resinous/piney hops. Really nice blend. The flavor combines the bitter to the sweet pretty nice. Nicely done hoppy to malty aftertaste with a concurrent finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Smooth carbonation feels good. ABV felt right too. Overall, nicely done American brown ale that I could come back to if it was in my distro. Thanks Frank.

Harmon 11th Street +4 IPA
Draft pour to a schooner at Harmon, Tacoma. Anniversary beer with some bonus hops! Iím in. Bright golden orange pour with a patchy head and sticky lacing. Aroma is juicy tropical fruit up front, nice hop.profile. A warming IPA. Juicy hops, and a sturdy body overall. Fruit forward, but not sweet. Bold, and very tasty.

Harmon Black Tartan IPA
Draft pour to a schooner at Harmon, Tacoma. Pours blacker than their stout. Thick tan cream foam head and lacing. Very garden aroma with goods and vegetables. Grassy hops, vegetal, with a coffee roast that shows up way late. Bitter, and a bit harsh. A bit disappointing for me. Not very pleasant for my taste.

Harmon Stryker Stout - Rum Soaked Oak Aged
Draft pour to a schooner at Harmon, Tacoma. Pours black with a cream tan head. Dark fruit, oak, and a sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor is really nutty. Not boozy like other rum aged beers Iíve had. Black cherry. More nutty notes. Thick body. Sweet cream linger. Fun, very unique beer. Not bad

Harmon Puget Sound Porter
Draft pour, tasted at Harmon, Tacoma. Pours black with a tan foam head. I know Iíve had this beer before, forever ago. Fun to revisit what was obviously a memorable porter. Rich in chocolate aroma and flavor. Toasty. A slight bitterness throughout. Roasted chocolate malt late reminder. A well put together porter. Excellent.

Harmon Pinnacle Peak Pale Ale
Draft pour, tasted at Harmon, Tacoma. Clean golden pour with a foam ring head. Soft aroma, with sweet grain, and hops. Cool flavor, a refreshing pale. An excellent beer for a session. Where is this when the baseball season is going? Enjoyable for sure.

Harmon Mt. Takhoma Blonde
Draft pour, tasted at Harmon, Tacoma. First stop at the much anticipated Tacoma brewery trip, and starting off with one with quite a bit of history. Served with a slice of orange that quite enhances the aroma experience here. Pale golden pour. Moderately crisp, corny grains. Has a Mexican lager feel to it, as much as it does a blonde ale. Lingering corn grains. Alright.

Harmon Hoppy Pale - Mosaic
Draft pour at Harmon, Tacoma to a schooner. Golden apple juice pour with a thin, patchy head. A good display of the Mosaic profile. Grassy hop forward aroma. Flavor is hop deliciousness, with grassy winning over a soft citrus. Refreshing beer with a subtle lingering bitterness. Very pleasant pale here.

Harmon Stryker Stout
Draught at the brewpub
Black color, with creamy head. It has a good body structure, and it presents a food blend of roasty and chocolate malts, with light residual sweetness, itís boldly bitter too, with some pungent hop resins.
Good American Stout, solid. Interesting.

Harmon Steep & Deep Winter Ale
Draught at the brewpub
Dark mahogany color, almost black, with creamy brownish head. A dark beer, bold but quite dry; it manages to convey both the roasty quality of the dark malts and the resiny quality of the hops. Similar to the CDA, but with an additional notch with the malt.
Very good.

Harmon Puget Sound Porter

Harmon Pinnacle Peak Pale Ale
Draught at the brewpub
Golden color, just hazy, with creamy head. Now, this is a nice surprise; there is a good jib with the malt, that appears to be also a bit biscuity, delicate aroma of quality hops, fairly bitter, with a good amount of hop resins in the final.
Well brewed.

Harmon Mt. Takhoma Blonde
Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy pale blond color with greenish hue, no head.
Light aroma of refined sugar. At least it has a bit of malt flavor, some wheat, itís fairly dry, with ordinary bitterness.
Different from other beers in the category, but too simple, forgettable.

Harmon Expedition Amber
Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy amber color with creamy beige head. As usual, there is not much luck with the Amber, it has a good body strength, some malt flavor, high bitterness, hop resins, but hidden fruitiness, and way too much yeast, therefore itís quite harsh.

Harmon Black Tartan IPA
Draught at the brewpub, as CDA Black IPA, 8% ABV
Black color with brown compact head, nice lace. Both aroma and flavor have a strong presence of roasted malts and resiny hops, it gets a bit ashy, burnt in the final, and it has strong bitterness. Similar to the Winter Ale, but more roasty and hoppy.
Good beer, not difficult to brew in this way, but pleasant.

Harmon 80 Schilling Scottish Ale

Draught at the brewpub
Dark brown color, almost black, with creamy beige head. The aroma is mildly cheesy. The mouthfeel is very soft, itís a bit undercarbonated (a fair choice), with light caramel flavor and stronger presence of English yeast, a bit cheesy; low bitterness.
Unexpressive. Why is this even called Scottish?

Harmon Barrel-Aged Apricot Saison
Draft at Zeekís Lynnwood; evidently this beer is made just for Zeekís--presumably any location, not just up here. Pours a murky medium orange with a dense and creamy off-white head. Nose clearly shows apricot, as well as bits of lemongrass, barrel character is fairly mild. Creamy medium body, minimal carb. Apricots, light barrel, soft lemongrass on the mid palate. Sweetish finish.

Porter blind taste #2. Aroma is much bigger than the first. Sweeter, with coffee and caramelization. Appearance is darker than #1, deep brown with small ring of head. Tastes: like a dry, soulless, faded cola without enough syrup. Palate: light body, small-bubbled carbonation, chalky texture. Overall: I liked the nose at first, but the rest was a disappointment.

Porter Blind Tasting #2. A little more brown in color that the first porter. Strong coffee character from the malt, not actually coffee. Light ashtray and faint toffee. Flavor is a little sweeter with some toffee essence but not sugary sweet. A little dry finish and some sandpaper like roughness at the end. More dull than anything else.

Harmon Kamehamehaís Crown Pineapple IPA
Purchased from The Beer Junction, Seattle, WA May this year. Bottle 149/240. Had one of those feelings I shouldíve bought more than one of these when I had the chance. This was one of those spectacular beer experiences a geek like yourself would enjoy. Fairly bourbony on the nose with hints of tropical fruit and a bit of red wine. Flavors are abound in every direction with notes of vanilla, oak, pinot, tropical fruits tossed with hops, pineapple, and a singe of hoppy bitterness in the finish blended with bourbon alcohol. Fucking brilliant and beautiful. Wish I had more!!!!
