Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
A quite good Porter. Pours a deep black with a tan head. Smells of caramel, salt, and herbs. Taste is a lot of vanilla ice cream, caramel, a bit of salt, and a slightly empty finish. This would be fantastic with an 8-9% alcohol content.

Cascade Lakes Sizzle Juice Fresh Hop IPA
Bottle from Boise Co-op. Big fruity aroma, citrus , dome pine. Electric orange golden body. Small bubbly head. Oranges, some floral notes in the taste. Nice oily mouth feel. A bit late in the fresh hop season, but this still sparkles.

Pours a thin head on a dark brown body. Aroma is nice roasted malt, chocolate and mild coffee bitterness. Taste has a good roasty body, a little chocolate for sweet. Texture is crisp.

Cascade Lakes Slippery Slope
pours from bottle a dark auburn with barely noticeable head. aromatics are of spices, winter, spruce, alcohol, and leather. the flavors follow the same path with the addition of dark fruits, particularly plums and prunes. i wish theyíd have a rating for beer name, because slippery slopeís one of the better winter ones iíve seen.

Holy Aged Hops, Batman! Gold-maize pour, fluffy white head, lots of sticky lacing along the sides of my SN IPA glass. Sweet, caramelly, aged. Like a mellowed-out low-key older barleywine, not a nice fresh new sk00l IPA. Disappointing.

Not to bad, but not overwhelming. Slight wheaty and malty taste, but mostly resembles a Lager. Definitely drinkable, but not wonderful. (K)

Why would you wax a fresh hop IPA???
Hazy golden color, small head. In the aroma, there is pungent citrus zest. Flows nicely and lean on the tongue, the malts are a bit bready, some toffee, moderate residual sweetness, citrusy resins, kumquats, mandarin, light dank touch, perfumy, and something more that is difficult to describe, it adds to the weirdness, but itís very interesting in the end.

Cascade Lakes Sizzle Juice Fresh Hop IPA
22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank, juicy hops upfront, with a little citrus, and stone fruits. Flavour is super juicy, with loads of piney, dank and tropical juicy hops, with a fairly dry biscuity malt backbone. That hop characteristic is hugely drinkable, with lots of depth. Unexpectedly excellent.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at The Beer Junction. Aroma: moderate cocoa. Appearance: small, light-brown initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, cola-brown body. Taste: lightly acidic initial flavor and moderately sweet, vanilla and smoke finish with long duration. Palate: medium body, syrupy texture and lively carbonation. Overall: better than average porter with really smokey finish.

Cascade Lakes Cyclops IPA
This bottled brew from a beer bar poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated slightly hazy light orange colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and musty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The ok flavor contained notes of caramel and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Cascade Lakes 20th Anniversary IPA
Bottle:   Amazing looking IPA, darker orange, moderate to large foamy sandy colored head, very nice lacing.   Very soft hops on the nose.   Seems moreso a biscuit sort of aroma with very faint pithy bitterness.   Similar on the tongue, not a very hoppy example.   I get more graininess and biscuit notes than I do any sort of hop aspect.   Does have a little bit of soft pithy background.   Finishes witha bit of a earthy and grainy jaunt, then with a bit of a pithy aftertaste.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Looks great, but comes across as very mild with more malt characters than hop.   Smooth, but damnit... needs to have more hop character and less malt.

12 oz bottle- Pours cloudy orange with a nice white medium sized head. Aroma is earthy hops, lemon, tropical fruits, a bit dirty. The taste is lemony, dry citrusy hops, tropical, love the bone dryness, mostly in the finish, the earthy hops are more subdued in the taste, but still there. Good beer overall.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Smells heavy citrus. Tastes strongly of lemon, quite sweet as well which covers up a lot of the bitterness. Reminds me of a hefe served with a big fat lemon, only sweeter. A bit of an odd brew.

Cascade Lakes Cyclops IPA
12 oz bottle poured. Once upon a time I was down in the Bend/Redmond area, and found this on draft, and it was my very first experience with Cascade Lakes. Main thing I take from that, is that the beer was solid enough for me to remember what beer it was. Picked this bottle up somewhere in Seattle recently. I was looking forward to this. The label looks to be slapped on by hand about 30 degrees off of being centered. The artwork looks like something I used to draw up in math class back in high school. Only I canít draw. Iím about as good at drawing as I am at rating beers. You can tell what Iím trying to do, but just barely. The beer pours a bright orange color with a rocky foam head. Soft hop, spice malt, and metallic aroma. Flavor is barely floral, bready malt that is a good balance with the hops. Not quite sold on the hop profile, but the balance is good, and it drinks easy. A little different than your typical IPA. Not bad.

Bottle from Larryís Liquor Locker, Point Roberts, WA
Hazy amber color with generous head. The aroma is a bit soapy, then some hops, but old. It has a bit of caramel and malt flavor, orangey hops, correct bitterness, definitively not the kind of feeling expected from Mosaic; and overall a feeling of old.
But it has no date on the bottle, so the responsibility is on the brewer.

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
Bomber, thanks Craig! Sweet caramel malt aroma with notes of chocolate, roasted malt and some salt. Pours dark brown with a thin but retentive light brown head that also has good lacing. Starts with good caramel and chocolate malt sweetness with a slightly thinner body than I would have liked, but that's a mild complaint. Finishes smooth with good roasted malt flavors and just a pinch of salt. Excellent porter!

22 wax dipped bottle from Lifesource natural grocers in Salem OR. $6.99 Dark brown almost mahogany coloured ale with a nice firm creamy tan head. Handsome. Wonderful aroma of fudge , cappuccino , salted vanilla ice cream and creamy milk chocolate. Taste the same but more of the chocolate malt side and ends up rather dry and a little salty and some ash. Nice palate maybe a little weak for the style in the very end. A very nice beer but i feel it could have been wonderful with a bit more body

Wax-dipped bomber. Aroma is very caramelly, light roast. Smells pretty much exactly like a salted caramel candy. Pours black with mahogany red tints when held up to the light. Taste is sweet and roasty with flavors of salted caramel, coffee, chocolate. Body seems a tad thin, mouthfeel a little watery. Despite these minor easy to look over palate flaws, this is really well-executed and tasty.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Paycheck. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A nice light toast and citrus nose. The flavor is toast, some marmalade, quite bitter, odd grainy bitter finish. Sort of unbalanced. I mean it is malty and hoppy, but it is oddly extreme in both cases with lots of bitter green hops and really dry grains. OK beer.
