Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
Pours a deep brownish black on tap with fluffy tan head that leaves good lace. Aroma of nice sweet caramel and chocolate notes. Taste is even bigger on the chocolate, less on the caramel, mild earthy salt. Tasty beer for dessert, tasty beer for sure.

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
Draft - Chocolate and salted caramel. Jet dark brown with a decent beige head. Dark roast, light caramel and a nutty note. Sweet, but appropriately so.

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
Draught @ A Beer at a Time. Pours a mostly opaque dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is sweet caramel and roasted malt. Flavour is an unsweetened caramel that muddles into a bitter roasted character but then the caramel resumes and lingers on the palate. Salted character is very subtle and only detected after it warms.

Cascade Lakes Slippery Slope
Bottle picked up at Total Wine, which is my "out of season, but still good, local craft" superstore. Not the first, and certainly won’t be the last. A darker amber pour with a rocky foam head. Mild aroma of caramel malt, oak, and the slightest hinted hop impression. Flavor is a slightly rich, dusty caramel malt, with another wood note. A solid winter ale I’m sure, but this is doing just fine in the sun watching baseball. Quite the tasty session strong ale here. This would be a fine addition to the year round lineup.

Cascade Lakes Cherry Blonde
On tap at Whole Foods in Boise, ID. Clear amber with excellent clarity and a fine head that leaves sticky lacing. Maraschino cherries and baked bread in the nose. The flavor follows, with grains and cherries at about equal strength. Medium body and carbonation. Semi dry finish.

Hazy orange with a quickly dissipating white head. Musty, fruity aroma. Malty, sweet with moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Not quite balanced in the direction I like for an IPA, but pleasant and quite drinkable.

Bottle fairly clear yellowish amber. Thin off white head. Fresh floral grassy hop aroma slightly chemically pungent and pithy hop flavor. Some character I don’t love in there. Pretty dry and clean. A little wet papery at the end.

Cascade Lakes Blonde Bombshell
On tap at Snakepit yesterday. Clear golden pour with a white head. Not much aroma to speak of, but it’s slightly sweet and grainy. Really basic for a frequently boring style, but it’s drinkable.

Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA
Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Deep golden and clear (at least to start) with a nice off white head. Aroma jumps out during the pour and is earthy, spicy, herbal, and funky. The flavor is all of that plus oily and piney. It is definitely hop forward. Tropical fruit includes coconut. This is a complex hop and this beers lets it eat. Bread is underneath. The finish is syrupy complex fruit that includes stone fruit. Mosaic is such an interesting hop and so flavorful. There is a lot to like about it.

Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is strongly of tropical fruit, There is citrus as well and pine. Good smooth malt backbone. Finish is earthy and bitter and some coconut appears. ; Really enjoyable drinking. I like this one a lot.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. I love the funkiness, hemp characteristics of the Idaho 7, and how it plays here. Normal enough pour, nothing to get to excited about. Hoppy , funky aroma, mild dank character. Taste adds some fruitiness, stone fruit, nectarines. Mildly sweet, but finishes with a mellow bitter bite. All over the board, but some how comes together nicely.

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
A quite good Porter. Pours a deep black with a tan head. Smells of caramel, salt, and herbs. Taste is a lot of vanilla ice cream, caramel, a bit of salt, and a slightly empty finish. This would be fantastic with an 8-9% alcohol content.

pours from bottle a dark auburn with barely noticeable head. aromatics are of spices, winter, spruce, alcohol, and leather. the flavors follow the same path with the addition of dark fruits, particularly plums and prunes. i wish they’d have a rating for beer name, because slippery slope’s one of the better winter ones i’ve seen.

Holy Aged Hops, Batman! Gold-maize pour, fluffy white head, lots of sticky lacing along the sides of my SN IPA glass. Sweet, caramelly, aged. Like a mellowed-out low-key older barleywine, not a nice fresh new sk00l IPA. Disappointing.

Cascade Lakes Sizzle Juice Fresh Hop IPA
Bottle from Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA
Why would you wax a fresh hop IPA???
Hazy golden color, small head. In the aroma, there is pungent citrus zest. Flows nicely and lean on the tongue, the malts are a bit bready, some toffee, moderate residual sweetness, citrusy resins, kumquats, mandarin, light dank touch, perfumy, and something more that is difficult to describe, it adds to the weirdness, but it’s very interesting in the end.

Cascade Lakes Sizzle Juice Fresh Hop IPA
22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank, juicy hops upfront, with a little citrus, and stone fruits. Flavour is super juicy, with loads of piney, dank and tropical juicy hops, with a fairly dry biscuity malt backbone. That hop characteristic is hugely drinkable, with lots of depth. Unexpectedly excellent.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at The Beer Junction. Aroma: moderate cocoa. Appearance: small, light-brown initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, cola-brown body. Taste: lightly acidic initial flavor and moderately sweet, vanilla and smoke finish with long duration. Palate: medium body, syrupy texture and lively carbonation. Overall: better than average porter with really smokey finish.

Cascade Lakes Cyclops IPA
This bottled brew from a beer bar poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated slightly hazy light orange colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and musty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The ok flavor contained notes of caramel and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Cascade Lakes 20th Anniversary IPA
Bottle:   Amazing looking IPA, darker orange, moderate to large foamy sandy colored head, very nice lacing.   Very soft hops on the nose.   Seems moreso a biscuit sort of aroma with very faint pithy bitterness.   Similar on the tongue, not a very hoppy example.   I get more graininess and biscuit notes than I do any sort of hop aspect.   Does have a little bit of soft pithy background.   Finishes witha bit of a earthy and grainy jaunt, then with a bit of a pithy aftertaste.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Looks great, but comes across as very mild with more malt characters than hop.   Smooth, but damnit... needs to have more hop character and less malt.

The taste is lemony, dry citrusy hops, tropical, love the bone dryness, mostly in the finish, the earthy hops are more subdued in the taste, but still there. Good beer overall.

What an unfortunately sweet IPA. This has very few redeeming qualities. It’s gone very wrong here. Not much in the way of hop or bitterness, just chronically sweet caramel.
