Short’s Guess the Dry Hop Local’s
Crisp, and ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall pure white head and a few bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of grass, cream, alcohol, sugars, cardboard and a very sweet, syrupy and citrus scent. Light-bodied; Mellow and herbal flavours at first with a big dose of bread and yeast along with some lighter malts and a touch of apples and pear sweetness. Aftertaste shows some very mellow hop notes, a bit of the grain and cardboard maltiness and a finish of sweetness from fruit with no hops at all. Overall, a decent beer, with no real perceived dry hopping, except some grassy hop notes, but they seem more intense and probably during the boil. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Meijer in Woodhaven, Michigan on 08-December-2016 for US$16,99 for the mixed twelve pack, sampled at home in Washington on 26-April-2017.

Short’s Good Humans
This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated body semi-opaque brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was brown ale. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering malt hop aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of nutty brown malt and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

Short’s Mule Beer
Light copper and golden honey coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pure limes, ginger root, powdered ginger and a little dose of pure caster sugar - very pungent smelling and not really like a beer that i’ve ever had - just like a ’moscow mule. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong lime, grass and especially ginger and spice flavours show up front and centre with a touch of sweetness near the end and some just cut ginger root along with some vinegar. Aftertaste shows some mellow malt, a touch of yeast and a heavy bit of ginger and limes with a noticeable sweetness near the end. Overall, a decent beer that shows a lot of a ’moscow mule’ character, that was exactly what was expected, but didn’t work out so well compared to beers in general, but decent for a herb/spice, which is exactly what this should be categorised as. Still worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Meijer in Woodhaven, Michigan on 08-December-2016 for US$16,99/twelve pack, sampled at home in Washington on 20-April-2017.

Short’s / Half Acre Freedom Of ’78
This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a strong bubbly carbonation body semi-transparent orange colored body and a good lacing. The strong aroma was citrus. The sharp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong citrus aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of citrus. A horrible one that I would rather not drink again. If I wanted to drink raw citrus, I would have eaten a Pink Guava.....Not! I couldn’t stomach it and poured it down the drain!

Short’s Chief Hopper
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/13/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, spicy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9.2%. Overall this is an awesome DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Extremely bright, juicy, and dank on hops; nice balancing malt backbone that is never sweet or heavy. A really delicious offering.

Short’s Imperial Spruce India Pilsner
EBF 2017. Pours a pretty clear golden with a small white head that leaves spotty lacing. Nose is of spruce, spruce and spruce hiding all the pils/lager character. Still fun, though. Taste is lightly sweet, lightly boozy and I’m not getting the spruce tips anymore but I’m sure they’re there. Moderately bitter. A bit ashy, too? Body is medium, carbonation moderate. Not transcending at all but still far from bad.

Short’s Chief Hopper
It’s a pretty decent double IPA. It smells really nice, the hops are fruity and piney in a nice blend. The first couple cold sips are really nice and flavorful, but the hops come to the fore as the beer warms and it just becomes hoppy bitterness without the context of the fruity flavors. A common complaint amongst IPA’s, but this one has some interesting flavors at the onset, and I enjoyed it for the most part.

Short’s Soft Parade
Bottled on 1/3/17. Served from bottle into glass at home. Pours pale rose in color, medium low clarity with short lasting white head. Aroma of red fruit and berry, like strawberry or raspberry jelly, and a mild graininess. Some floral character noticeable as well. No hop aroma detected. Flavor is primarily more red fruit and berry, less definable than the aroma. Finish is dry, almost wine like. Medium light body with medium high carbonation. Overall this beer is underwhelming. The aroma and flavor are both simple somewhat artificial fruit and berry. The dry finish, body and carbonation make it very drinkable. There are very little "beer" characteristics, to the point that if I was handed this I would assume it was a wine cooler. I appreciate the attempt, but feel as though there are better ways to make a fruit and berry focused beer.
