Bottle, a nice example of an English ruby ale, chestnut red with a nutty and fruity nose. Palate has lightly tart plums, roasty malt with a toffee tang, a little cocoa, then peppery bitterness and liquorice in the finish. We loikes this un, we duz.

500ml Bottle. It has a taste that reminds me of licking a vintage old leather armchair covered in dust ..it’s Autumn outside and leaves covered in earth are being tossed around in the wind.. a smell in the air of the terrain changing seasons is showcased with fall leaves being burnt .... this beer tastes like Autumn. A tepid beer .

Bottle that Dad shared- cheers! Amber brew with a thin white head and an aggressive, prickly fizz. Aroma of smoke and chocolate. Mild smoke on tasting too, with treacle, lemon and leaf mulch. A traditional bitter with enough of a twist to keep it interesting; this is a good full-flavoured brew that is just a little let down by a very slight metallic note and the over-the-top fizz. I would like to try it on cask.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Clear yellow to light orange color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, a somewhat weird fruity note in there which dominates the aroma. Old leftover fruitpeel in the aroma. Tastes a bit better fortunately, but not one I’ll be drinking again I reckon.

500ml bottle: BBE Jul 15. Poured into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ vase shaped pint glass at home during a ’random tasting afternoon’ with myself on 10th Jan 15. Dull, but clear golden body with a flat, thin white scummy head. Not a lot of an aroma, mild hop traces but nothing worthy of note. The taste was also light in nature with mini hop flavours, again not a lot going on. Refreshing enough with a tropical fruitness as it warmed a little in the glass. Fairly dry finish but overall a beer lacking in depth and flavour.
