Three B’s Bobbins Bitter
Cask pint in the sun outside a pub in Blackpool before the Grimsby Town 3-1 win on 8th April 2017. Golden amber pour, off-white head. Bit of toffee like esters in the semi-malty nose, light bitterness rising above the malty base. Decent session ale.

Three B’s Stoker’s Slake
Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours clear deep brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is earthy, bitter - sweet, gravel, coffee, hint of plastic and balsamic vinegar. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, caramel, dried fruits, toast, pepper and fruit cake with a mellow finish. Light+ body and soft carbonation. I am not so keen on the aroma, but found it to be well-rounded and drinkable enough.

9th August 2016
GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear amber beer, patchy ream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest carbonation. Tangy caramel malts. Light floral bitterness. Modest dried fruits. Dry finish. Tastes like an old fashioned bitter more than a mild. Clean.

Three B’s Stoker’s Slake
Cask at Chippenham Beer Festival. Deep brown. Yay- found a mild amongst the last few undrunk barrels at the tail end of the last night of the fest. It’s dark brown, maybe a little watery but with pleasant flavours of chocolate, malt and a light roastiness. Very easy to knock this one back. You really can imagine slaking your thirst with this after a day down the mines.

Three B’s Doff Cocker
Cask at the fleece, Penwortham. I imagine the name of this is supposed to be funny because it has the word ’cock’ in it. It would be a better beer if it wasn’t quite so bland and thin. Honey and lazy near-puns are the two things I hate in beer most of all.

Three B’s Knocker Up
Cask at the fleece, Penwortham. Hahaha, you guys are HILARIOUS. Knocker up, geddit? It’s like getting someone pregnant with your child! Oh, top bantz. Kudos. Kudos squared. Awesomeness beyond time itself. Regardless of the Archbishop of Banterbury that comes up with the names for these products, what we have here is a clear brown beer with a thin tan head, honey aroma, faint chocolate at the back. Clean finish. Just get the names into the 21st century lads, eh?

Cask, half pint at JDWs Manchester & County. Tiny layer leaving spotty lacing behind. Clear amber coloured body. Resin-like aroma. Three B’s Shuttle Ale
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in February 2011. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear orange amber in colour with a thin white creamy head. Distinctive aroma of Cadburys Crunchie Bar, short in the nose. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts deliver a sweet malty bite with clear heather honey, golden syrup, tinned peaches and burnt caramel notes evident. Slight prickle of hop flowers in the short dusty bitter aftertaste. Finish is sweet and malty as mead like flavours give a smooth warmth to the back of the throat. An excellent session ESB and well recommended.
