dragnet101	4.1 Trappistes Rochefort 10 About time I got to this one. Pours a dark mahogany with good sized and lasting beige foam. Aroma of malts, caramel, figs, dried fruits, sugar. Taste has notes of caramel, treacle, dried fruits, blackcurrant, candy sugar, plenty of alcohol warmth but not abrasive, rich but not sickly. Medium to full bodied and thankfully not too heavy, lively soft carbonation. Very flavoursome indeed. I prefer the Rochefort 8 but this is still a very fine beer. Thursday, March 28, 2024

Taste follows aroma plus oranges, caramel and some honey. Dry finish. Strong carbonation. It’s good alright but not as refined and earth shattering as the dark brews from Rochefort. Leise Gewürze, deutliche Kandiszuckersüße; Anklänge an Schokolade. Schaumig rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang feine Gewürze und nur matte herbale Hopfung - bis zuletzt dominiert die dunkle Fruchtigkeit. - Schönes Dubbel mit einigem Tiefgang, freilich etwas zu süß und arg knapp gehopft (was wohl zu dieser Biersorte gehört). dandeman	4.4 Trappistes Rochefort 8 Amalgame de fruits noirs relevant des notes de pruneaux, de raisins secs, dattes ainsi que de la mélasse du chocolat et des accents de sucre de canne dans un olfactif où le malt et les esters dominent. Le liquide est brun moyen, voilé, avec des reflets orangés. La mousse de taille moyenne persiste quand même assez. Ce qui frappe à l’entrée de bouche c’est sa carbonatation extrêmement piquante. Les accents de caramel, mélasse, pruneaux, figues, clou de girofle, poivre et un léger boisé en font une bière d’une complexité remarquable. La carbonatation juste et efficace empêche de ressentir ce produit trop sirupeux. Comme tout ce que produit cette brasserie, cet opus est sans contredit un chef-d'œuvre de brassage. tbonde	4.3 Trappistes Rochefort Triple Extra Bottle @ home in Rochefort glass @ approx 10 degrees c. Pours hazy golden with me being too greedy and getting some of the residue in there to cloud it. Massive white head with very good retention and lacing. Aroma banana and bread driven. Taste again banana, a little spicyness and here the bread becomes malt. Soft carbonation and very small bubbles ensure a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Finish quite sweet, but not overwhelmingly so and with warmth from the alcohol and a hoppiness making this very well balanced in my view. Rochefort has yet to fail me. Wednesday, December 27, 2023
edward78	4 Trappistes Rochefort Triple Extra Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy golden/amber colour with a large thick creamy off white head. Quite a complex aroma with notes of mixed fruits (bananas and apricots), some caramel and also some bready and spicy notes. Taste is pretty much exactly the same notes as detected in the aroma with a malty backbone and a very smooth full buttery mouthfeel. Low carbonation with just a gentle fizz. A subtle earthy hop comes through late on the finish. Wonderful mouthfeel. Very well crafted beer. Excellent. Thursday, December 14, 2023
