Fosters Gold
fosters gold always seemed like to me they sucked all the life out of a fosters and tried to package it as some fancy smooth pilsner or something, which it totally isn't. i mean, it doesn't taste bad; it's just so light that it doesn't really taste of anything and is a complete waste of money. it tries to be subtle like some of the brews from eastern lands but comes off tasting of absolutely bugger all.

Not a gross beer. Quite drinkable, but there’s not much too it. Looks nice. Generous lacing from the pillowy head on a golden brew, but the nose is fermented corn and the taste is about the same.

this is in no way whatsoever a work of art, but fosters remains a decent lager on tap or in a can (or bottle, if available). as far as bog-standard british pints in the sun goes, you can’t go far wrong with fosters, which i find has a bit more of a malty taste than most of the everyday offerings of the british drinking hole.

What can you say about Fosters? To this day it still remains one of the best selling lagers in the UK, both on draught and in cans\bottles. The aroma is a fairly non-distinct citrus and malt. The taste is sweeter than most lagers with some citrus, floral and grainy corn syrup flavours. I have fond memories of mixing this with Strongbow to make snake bites. This is a mediocre lager, only notable for being sweeter than say Carlsberg or Carling.

a quality lager may still receive a poor score because lagers are difficult to be "special", but this is typical malt water. no aroma, hint of malt in the back end, slightly "soil" taste.

Decente pale lager. Me sorprendió un poco su aroma a cereal intenso. Posee una apariencia amarillo pálido con una fina corona de espuma blanca. Sabor correcto pero suave (bajo cuerpo) y un paladar a la par.

Fosters Twist
A fairly insipid lager designed to take some of Corona (with a slice of lime) market share. The taste is typically sweet Fosters lager with a synthetic lime and lemon after-taste. It’s not unpleasant, just bland. It’s very easy to drink and not too strong so makes a good session beer.

Golden colour with high carbonation, big head goes flat quickly, minimal lacing. Nose: is of wheat, barley\corn and hops. Taste is of hops, sweet lime and some of that wheaty woody taste you get with cheap German lager like the stubby beers. Not bad, but not good. Price Paid: free as it was out of date.

Well, that?s not great, in fact it?s rather bad but not especially outrageous. Average lager only useful during a warm afternoon, ?cause beside that, this beer is neither pleasant to drink or able to get you drunk. Very basic taste like hundreds of other cheap lagers, and LOL at the "amber nectar" mention, commercial bullshit as usual. Disappointing and I was not expecting much. PARTIALLY APPROVED BY TAVERNY?S BLACK METAL CREW!

Can at Tenzing Drive house clearance ...vintage 2013 some kind of .rar 1888 (presume 125 aanniversary spcial) Ltd Ed can - this was the highlight ! Golden with a well appointed white cap. Nose is pale malts, grains, cereal. Taste is papery, grains, light floral notes, straw, faint bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitter close. Par for style.

When originally released this was a pleasant enough upgrade over the original fosters, adding more strength at 4.8% abv and more depth and body to the taste. However it has been diluted to 4.5% and then again to 4.3% since it’s release and the beer now has a taste\palate far more in common with normal fosters than the original Fosters Gold. Seems bizarre to me they have brought it more inline with fosters as such undermining this supposed premium beer against its rivals.

Clear golden color with strong white foam. Aromas of are sweet of rum and sugar snaps with a little light spice of cinamon mixed with lager malt. Palate, medium/light body with thin texture and surprisangly flat! leaving light sweet, with developing dryness finish. Tastes flat and sweet with notes of spice and water (very watery) Overall, surprisable drinkable without off flavours or off aromas.

Keg at BST Festival, Hyde Park. It pours a clean golden color with a small white head. Aroma is dry grainy and lightly grassy with notes of straw and starch. Taste is also dry crispy and lightly sweet with some starch, grass and straw. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, decent

Surprisingly popular here in the UK, not sure why. Overall this seemed weak and watery, with a slightly metallic/bitter finish to it. Cheap beer for students. Wouldn’t want to drink this again unless there was nothing else available. (old rating, 2007)

Drank straight from the bottle at the Bansdale darts tournament - a night when I should have taken more beer. Cadged a bottle of this from Mark B to avoid having to drink Budweiser which was the only other beer on offer. This was better, but was still pretty bad.

Keg at The Black Swan, Leek. A clear golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of sweet grain, some lemon, slight bread and grassy hops. Taste of grain, slight cardboard, subtle grassy hops and a little bread. Light bodied and a fizzy texture. A dry, cardboard finish. This crap got worse and worse. Grainy, watery and horrible cardboard. It’ll have to do.
