Green Man India Pale Ale
Can... Clear, brilliant, deep amber pour with orange highlights and a mid-sized, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is of spicy and peppery hops. Medium-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is very bitter, displaying spicy, peppery, German-like hops. Finishes acrid and bitter. This seems overly bitter just for the sake of being bitter. Not much else going on here. One dimensional. My wife loved it. Sheís a hophead.

Green Man Trickster IPA
Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is a slight hop berry fruitiness with some slightly sweet malt. Flavor is again a very minimal hop with not much bitterness and some dry bready malt. I donít think this one is going to win any awards for best IPA of 2016. Not enough hops presence and the malt bill is all wrong for this style.

Green Man Porter
Draft - My palate is not very good but I seem to taste coconut on this Porter. Rich dark brown color with almost no head and very few bubbles. Light roasted flavor, tastes slight sweet as well. A very good representation of the Porter style staying true to the style.

Green Man ESB
Pretty terrible ESB, lacking both the fruity funk of English yeast and any discernible American hop stupidity. Looks like a cask ale, tastes like a mild, slightly nutty golden ale, and the finish seems lost. In dire need of a continent to call its own.

Green Man India Pale Ale
This beer is OK. Itís nothing to write love songs about. In Roanoke or Lexington it would actually be top tier, but this is from an Asheville brewery. Asheville is a whole ínother. This IPA pours copper color with little head. The aroma is standard IPA. Some grassy hops, some cereal malt. Standard IPA taste, too. Not bad in any way. Just not Asheville.

I think this is one of the better Oktoberfest beers Iíve had, although Iím not a fan of marzens generally This beer brings a sweet, rich quality to the style that makes it just highly drinkable. It pours bright golden color with a fair amount of foam. The aroma is sweet, with molasses and sugary malt very prominent. Thatís the flavor, too. None of it really segregates to the front or back of the tongue, itís just this swirl of mild hops, a little something like honey, a bit of pineapple... it all adds up to an unassuming but decidedly sweet brew that I found refreshing.

Pour is a dark brown with a large white head. Aroma is a toasted grain with a little tootsie roll sweetness. Flavor is a very heavy mouth feel at first then comes some molasses and something like a fig. This is way sweeter than the style should be.
