BJ’s Prickly Pear Honey Wheat Ale
Pretty decent beer. The prickly pear gives it an indistinct fruit flavor and the honey tones down the wheat. Just a hint of sweetness.

BJ’s Whiskey Barrel Stout - Bourbon Tatonka
Draft at BJ’s in Huntsville. It poured a dark brown with a nice tan head that disipated into a lace ring. Nice roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and oak flavoring from the bourbon barrels. The alcohol becomes more pronounced as the beer mellows. Very tasty.

BJ’s Mad Crazy Mango IPA
At the Dayton Ohio BJs. Burnished deep gold color with a sticky off white head. Sweet citrus and tropical fruit nose. Lots off tropical fruit flavors, candied orange, and stone fruit. An almost white sugar sweetness that grew as the beer warmed. Solid tropical fruit ipa.

BJ’s HopStorm IPA
I can’t believe this has an IBU of anywhere near what is stated. This is a light, crisp ale but nowhere near an IPA. Still, it’s better than Bud or Miller.

BJ’s Mad Crazy Mango IPA
Piney aroma, lighter on the fruity side, toasted. Tarnished brass pour, clear. Thin, clingy buff head. Kumquat pith-bitter up front, a bit tannic and toasted. Faintly fruity, but the bitterness and acidity just steamroller everything. Medium to slightly heavy body, good carbonation retention. Only got the mango in the finish, and then only in a glancing fashion. Woody astringency in the end, overall a bit ragged, but the hop heads will probably swill blindly. On tap, BJ’s TLH.

BJ’s HopStorm IPA
Rated on 4-22-2017 at BJ’s in Fort Wayne, IN. The appearance of this draft beer is a small cream colored head that is fully lasting throughout my rating, transparent golden body, very little carbonation observed, and a good amount of lacing adorns the glass. The aroma is citrus hops, bitter, grass, and earthy. The flavor presents light-medium bitterness, citrus hops, earthy, and malt. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer has a bitter finish/aftertaste. It is nothing special for the style and it is the best beer of my beer flight.

The aroma is lightly floral and malt. The flavor is malt and sweet. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. Another disappointing beer from this location. The taste is not worth trying and a waste of money.

BJ’s HopStorm IPA
This draft brew from a restaurant was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized very off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated body transparent light orange brown colored body and a good lacing. The weak aroma was malt hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium hoppy aftertaste. The strange flavor contained notes of deep hops. Not one that I would likely drink again.

Aroma: Very lite aroma. No off aromas noted. Appearance: Pretty beer. Clear yellow with no cloudiness. Taste: Mid road pilsner. Not bad for a brewpub brewery. BJ’s Harvest Hefeweizen
I have tried many microbrews and Hefeweizen style beers and this one is up there with my favorite, Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. Very similar to Hefewweissibier with the same cloudy golden-yellow wheat beer color and white foamy head. You can smell a light hint of cloves with a refreshing banana-like after taste. Pricey but worth it.

BJ’s Goliath
Very very good. It did not at all strike me as a barley wine...More of a double IPA with a lot of malt. The hops on the nose were spicy and citrusy, and it was very balanced in terms of acidity, hops, and sweetness. It’s by far the best beer I’ve had at BJs (and I’ve tried most of them).
