Isle of Purbeck Solar Power
Cask handpull at The Pembury Tavern as Isle of Purbeck Solar Power, 4.3%. Pale golden, clear and still with a foamy off white head. Aroma is white bread, doughy, crumpet. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation- quite high carb for cask. Taste is a little watery, bready, phenolic, smoke, metallic notes. Sugary and watery and astringent-phenols. Some ok aspects - it's drinkable enough and not a total car crash. But it's not great. Surprisingly popular in here though it seems. (4-4-4-3-11=2.6)

Cask at Swan, Farnborough. Having to strain to pick up an aroma - something sweet and malty? Dark amber. Decent frothy white head. Light sweetness with a malty edge. A tangy sourness comes into the finish. Caramel, malt and berries. Light-medium bodied. Slickish. Light carbonation. Astringent finish. OK. Pleasant enough.

Cask. Aroma yeasty and malt bread but no great scent. Pours copper with a thin top. Broken diminishing lace. Soft and mellow to taste. Easy drinking to be sure but also a bit bland and flat. One might spend an evening drinking this but why?

Pleasant bitter aroma - a classic English bitter. Taste follows the aroma, but leads to a nice dry finish with all the bittering hops. Some staleness to the malts, mushrooms even. Palate a bit limp.
