Big Dog’s Sled Dog Imperial Stout - Coffee
This didn’t have much head at all. Definitely smells of coffee. The coffee is quite evident in the beer and while I can’t taste the coconut this is a bit sweeter than the original. Unfortunately it is also far less creamy, which makes the standard version much preferable to me.

Big Dog’s Lake Mead Monster
22oz bomber pours with a clear deep ruby red to amber body that supports a tall tan head of foam. The aroma offers up thick pine hops blended into crystal malts, a bit of molasses, nuttiness and roasted malts. The taste delivers pine hop bitterness wrapped with a thin resiny blanket. Behind the pine hops are floral hops, malts, molasses, a thin nuttiness and then malt sweetened roasted malts. The pine hops have a firm grip on the flavor and ride unwavering into the finish. Nice American Strong Ale hoppy sipper where the large label stated ABV is hardly noticeable.

Brewed in honor of the Raiders coming to town, this was a disappointment to me. A degree of roastiness to it but the flavor just didn’t work for me.

This tripel was just ok. Not the high level of spicy tingle to the mouthfeel I enjoy. Good but not great.

Big Dog’s Doggy Fresh Pale Ale
A fresh hop pale ale, it has surprisingly little hop to the aroma. It’s more surprising when compared to the flavor, which is quite fruity hop, mostly orange. A little thin in the finish.

Big Dog’s Terrible Dog
A friend found this at a Terrible Herbst location, which is cool. I think they must make it just for the Terrible’s, as the gas stations are all over Las Vegas and I haven’t seen it at the brewery. Similar in flavor to the Dirty Dog but slightly less in alcohol, this is a solid tasty IPA.

Big Dog’s Peach, Love and Hoppiness
So I am genuinely surprised by how much this worked for me. The base flavor of a solid APA is still evident, with just a little peach added. The fruit is evident at times but also overpowered by the hops at times. A worthy fruity beer.

500mL can, pours a cloudy deep dark orange with a light head. Aroma is extremely malty, with lots of caramel and not enough hop resins. Flavour is extremely malty and cloyingly sweet, with cloying brown sugar, subdued hop resins, and nasty cloying sweetness, almost a tartness to. Really bad.

Pretty sweet aroma, but you can actually identify the dates. The head pours a beautiful tan, color is a dark brown. Doesn’t quite taste as good as it looks and smells. Quite sweet, with a flavor that mixes malt, fruit and sugar in a way that just doesn’t quite work for me. Don’t get the lacing typical of a quad.

Bomber from Total Wine Summerlin. Clove spice and fruit forward aroma, plums and apples. Flavor matches. Alcohol shows a bit but it’s pretty nice. Sorry I didn’t get the abv off the bottle...I thought the beer and discrisption was listed on their site, but when I went to copy and paste I saw its for an IPA, not the tripel :(

Big Dog’s Cherry Vanilla Wheat
On tap at Big Dog’s. Cloudy with a pink tint. At first just a kinda boring run of the mill cherry wheat, slightly tart and a little yeasty. As it warms, the vanilla comes out in the aftertaste and makes it a touch more interesting.

Big Dog’s Rollin Smoke
So the smoke aroma is subdued but noticeable on this which I like. Similar thoughts on the beer. Because it’s an amber it just has a slight smoke and a slight body. Not being an amber guy, this is definitely preferable to the original for me.

Big Dog’s Las Vegas Craft Lager (LV Lager)
On tap at Pour 24 NYNY, and pint glass served, showing a clear & bright, light golden hue, with particularly active, rising bubbles, a sudsy, white layer of head foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The aroma was a typical, light lager nose with a bit of dank grain. Light to medium bodied, with lively carbonation, and a moderate earthy & peppery bitterness. No frills, but clean & crisp refreshment.

Slightly stinky hop aroma. Gold, brief head. Very well balanced taste, there’s a ton of hops here, but the malts are sweet and caramelly to. Palate a bit thin. Finish is resiny and bitter. Crazily drinkable, no sign of 8.7% at all. Simple recipe, but very well done. Thanks Philip!
