Can @ Anti-carnaval Tasting. Appearance: tomato soup. Aroma: tomato soup. Taste: weird peppery tomato soup. Salty as well. Isn’t this just tomato juice?

can @ anti-carnaval tasting. Wtf. Smells like tomato soup, which actually smells very nice but beer shouldn’t smell like this. Tastes tomato soup, salty, bouillon. I’m so confused. So conflicted. This is what being transgender must feel like. What the fuck. Bizarre. I literally can’t even. Craziest beer so far.

Sol (Mexico)
Bottle from systembolaget. A refreshing beer but of course tinny and deserves a lime. With a lime I always thought was better than Corona but who knows.

Sol (Mexico)
As Sol Cerveza, brewed in the Netherlands. A crystal clear piss yellow coloiured pour with a small fleeting white fizz. Aroma is corn, skunky, sweet grains, sweetcorn, paper. Flavour is lacking, papery malts, corn, adjunct heavy, stale grains. Palate is light and fizzy, carbonic acid bite in the finish. Pretty shitty.

Sol (Mexico)

12 fl oz bottle on 12th Feb 2017: into a Corsendonk stemmed tulip at my Son-in-Laws, bought in a local supermarket in Laguna Niguel. Looked like any other Pale Lager: clean, clear and bright golden, the head a fast fading white affair. Sadly the aroma and taste were not as good as the looks. Slight malty, grainy, corny nose and flavour. Had worse Mexicans.

Carta Blanca
Quart bottle (yes, you read that correctly), shared with my Son-in-Law who likes Mexican Lagers. Drank on 11th Feb 2017 at his new place in Southern California. I preferred it cold as you couldn’t smell or taste anything: as it warmed the corn/grain aromas and flavours began to arrive. Of all the cheap Mexican beers I have tried so far this is most likely the worst. Looked fine of course, clean, clear and golden with a snow white head (which faded a bit too quickly).

Bohemia Chocolate Stout
Bottle, 355ml. Dark reddish, frothy tan head. Mild roasted aromas. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation. Thin and fizzy. Medium sweet, medium to light bitter. Unnatural, but not unpleasant chocolate flavors into an acidic fizzy bitter finish. Clearly a macro beer, you have to force yourself to chug it down because its just not tasty and seems artificial.

Average taste but better than the average tinny lager. It might be a tinny lager at the base of it but has a very interesting spicy carbonation.

12 fl oz bottle into an Angry Orchard glass at my Son-in-Laws in California on 2nd Feb 2017. Golden pour, thin white head. Fairly sweet brew with refreshing feel, glad there is no tequila like flavours from the Blue Agave. Actually it’s an OK beer, my sweet tooth quite liking the smooth mouthfeel and taste.

Can - pale straw color with a rage head, fairly typical pale Mexican lager but with a bit more flavor, surprisingly, some mild fruitiness to it, very refreshing and easy to drink, especially while I'm laying here in the beach in Mexico! Sol (Mexico)
12oz bottle. Pours a clear, piss-colored yellow with no real head. Aroma is grain, corn, and malt. Taste is soap, syrupy lime, and grain. Dull, grassy bitterness in finish. Light body. Average carbonation. Watery. Unpleasantly sweet. An awful beer but so insubstantial that it barely merits the acknowledgement of a rating; it’s almost more nothing than it is bad.

Did not dig this one at all. Had a weird generic tomato flavor compared to a more realistic flavor from Modelo and Bud. A bit spicy and peppery. Best part of this one is being able to recycle the can.

Brown bottle poured into a lager glass, Appearance is clear amber with a small foam head. Aroma of caramel and metallic notes. Flavours of caramel and corn flakes. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter. Palate is light bodied, watery texture and average carbonation. Overall poor, tastes like it is brewed with only artificial ingredients and was tried to compensate with a lot of sweetness.

Dos Equis XX Ambar (Amber)
(12oz bottle) AROMA: light lager nose, touch of malt and sweetness, soy sauce. APPEARANCE: decent medium Amber/brown, white head, some lacing followed by minimal residual. TASTE: watery malt, some sweet n sour, bland fruit, grape skins. PALATE: slightly acidic/cleansing, watery texture with fizz. OVERALL: mediocre. Focus seems to be on sweet mash with not much hope coming through. Passable beer with relatively light body and complexity. I think overpriced for what you get.
