Jolly Pumpkin Clementina
Bottle I grabbed at JP in Detroit, pours a clear, bright gold with some foamy, white head. Nose is very nice, some clear citrus, a bright vinegary acid, some light wood, a hint of perfumey sweetness lurks, but also some funk too. Flavor is tart with both citric acid and a vinegar character, straw, a barnyard character, all throughout there’s a clear orange character resonating, some light herbs. Finishes dry, tart, crisp. Exceptional.

Jolly Pumpkin Weizen Bam
4 years aged for no real reason. Clear pale golden with a large rocky white head. Earthy woody funky sour nose with wheaty lactic slightly fruity nuances throughout that’s mostly earthy and rustic and funky. High carbonation on the body with some mild wheat and pale Belgian malty flavors with a gentle funky estery tone with gentle orange and gentle pepper. A little funky bit bright and clean.

Bottle. Hazy golden color. Yeast sediment in the bottom. Large white foamy head response. Aroma is quite tart, coriander, orange peel. Wheat grains. Belgian wit character comes through a lot in the flavor. Coriander, orange zest, wheat, with a sourness that comes through on the finish with a cheek tingle. Medium-light body. Sour tingle over the palate. Nice.

Jolly Pumpkin Noel de Calabaza
Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters displaying a hazed amber color, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was subtle funk, tartness, slight oak, spice, fruitiness as cherry, berries, and plum, with a touch of vinous nature. The taste was similar notes, medium bodied, continuing tartness, warmth, and some earthy & rind-like bitterness. Nice sip & savor brew.

Bottle sent by b3shine and shared at the RBAG winter event. Slow gusher! Very hazy dark orange, tart cherries and light phenols, cherry juice, seedy and woody undertones, dry tart finish, but lacking punch, edging on watery even. Good stuff, but a little thin.

Jolly Pumpkin Sobrehumano Palena ’Ole
750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/21/2016. Pours slightly hazy light reddish orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart cherry, passion fruit, mango, strawberry, melon, pear, lemon, green apple, grapefruit, red grape, oak, pepper, hay, straw, and grass; with light leathery funk, red wine vinegar, wheat, bread, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, fruit juice, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart cherry, passion fruit, mango, strawberry, melon, pear, lemon, green apple, grapefruit, red grape, oak, pepper, hay, straw, and grass; with light leathery funk, red wine vinegar, wheat, bread, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and yeast/tannic oak spiciness; with lingering notes of tart cherry, passion fruit, mango, strawberry, melon, pear, lemon, green apple, grapefruit, red grape, oak, pepper, hay, straw, grass, light leather/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, fruit juice, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance. Slightly puckering, but never astringent on tartness. Light-moderate dryness from tart/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/acidic/tannic, and lightly grainy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an awesome fruited wild ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, fruit juice, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the modest acidity/tannins. A really enjoyable offering.

Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza
Bottle from Brewcraft, drank w Matt at home on Valentine’s Day. Pours a cloudy green-gold with thin white fizzy head. Smells very nice - lots of citrus (lime, lemon, tangerine, orange peel), floral (lily?) wood chips hop, Belgian yeast and a bit of hay, light pepper. Fruity tartness pairs well with the wood chips. Taste is moderate citric tartness, moderate sweetness, ends on dry moderate bitter lemony note. Body is quite smooth, fine carbonation. Very nice - zesty and a lot of flavour without losing delicacy.

Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza
Bottle from Brewcraft at home on valentine’s. Hazy dull golden pour with dense white head. Aroma is sharp and spiced - like a oaked saison, which I guess makes sense. Smells a bit like a white wine mixed with saison. Carries into taste too, with a nice tartness throughout. Some subtle fruitiness, sweet banana, tart finish that lingers and some warm booze at the end. Really nice. Thanks to Kenneth for the rec.

Jolly Pumpkin Calabaza Blanca
Got this one at Winooski Beverage Warehouse over the holidays. Poured from a 12oz. bottle. Appearance: Light, pale-yellow body, good-sized head with lots of tiny bubbles. Smell: Citrus-like aroma. Taste: Very active carbonation, lemon-like character. Taste fades fast though. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied in the palate, reminds me of lemon & ginger. Drinkability: Very drinkable, light brew. Probably better served in warmer weather. I wouldn’t rush to get one, but i’d have another. Reviewed on: 02-01-2008
