On tap at Merchants of Beer. Hazy orange, with a ring o’ foam. Smells citrusy - mostly tangerine, I guess - and bretty with a touch of oak. Taste is bretty, winey, and some woody notes before finishing with a good deal of tropical citrus.

Bottle purchased at Gomer’s. Aroma is prune and wild yeast. Pours opaque brownish amber, clear that it’s oak aged. Taste is dark stone fruits with a touch of funky wild yeast, finishes with bitter stone fruit peel and woodiness. Not super sour but also one that must be sipped on. Jolly Pumpkin does it again!

Aroma is tart, caramel, citrus, barnyard, dusty, good. Appearance is copper, off white head, mostly hazy. Taste is tart, caramel, sour, woody, good. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, dry tart aftertaste. Overall, this one is quite good.

Potem odrobina drożdżowych klimatów i przyprawy. Pijelne, chwilami dzikie, bardzo ciekawy profil. Nie wiadomo czy to Brown Ale, Sour Ale, czy Belgian Strong Ale?

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/26/2017. Pours lightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, mango, melon, green apple, guava, berry, white wine, peppercorn, juniper, spruce, pine, hay, straw, grass, oak, herbal tea, wheat, cracker, and rye bread; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, spices, pale/rye malt, and oak barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, mango, melon, green apple, guava, berry, white wine, peppercorn, juniper, spruce, pine, hay, straw, grass, oak, herbal tea, wheat, cracker, and rye bread; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate yeast/oak spiciness and light lactic tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, mango, melon, green apple, guava, berry, white wine, peppercorn, spruce, pine, hay, straw, grass, oak, herbal tea, wheat, cracker, rye bread, leathery/musty funk, light vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, spices, pale/rye malt, and oak barrel flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance; and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tart/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately grainy/sticky, fairly tannic, and lightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.8%. Overall this is an awesome spiced wild saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, spices, pale/rye malt, and oak barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to drink; despite the increasing spicy/tannic/acidic/drying finish. Great classic house JP funk complexity and oak presence. Nice spice balance without going overboard. A really enjoyable offering.

Pours pale golden/straw, minimal head and some sticky lacing. Aroma if floral, very delicate, malty, some lemon and peppery. It gets more flavourful to the palate, with spices, pepper, malts, honey, lemon, grass, wood and some yeasty funk. Low bitterness but not sweet either (yes!). Body is quite light, with a flat carbonation. Damn good ale, and I don’t fancy pale beers!

Cloudy, dark amber (almost brown) with thick beige foam, more smooth than jagged. Rich floral, peppery phenol notes with distinct lacto acid and tartness. Tart, minerally, and astringent on first taste with a smooth, slightly bitter finish. The rose hips, petals and hibiscus create a complex tart bitterness that compliments the mineral flavors. The yeast phenol gets a little lost. There is some sour apple flavors and a slight lemony tartness toward the end. The body is medium and the carbonation is soft. The finish is dry, but the middle tastes are quite fruity. Though it has the dry aspect, I would compare it to the Anchorage Love Buzz or the Long Trip.
