Look: dark red, almost black, like bloody sausage, weak beige head. Aroma: caramel, diacetyl, light malty notes. Taste: sweet with light astringency. Light vinous notes in the flavour. Drinkable rustic dark lager.

Clear deep red-brown, beige head. Smells of burnt sugar, a little dark fudge, unpretentious but at least inoffensive. The taste is quite sweet, mostly burnt sugar, balanced by a winy tannic slightly pungent finish. No hops. Medium bodied, but just too sticky. Drinkable.

Look: dark, clear, unstable sparkling head. Aroma: sweet with light dark bread notes. Taste: strong sweetness with light acidity. There are very light fruity tart and spicy notes in the flavour. Too sweet.

Cogîlnic Cvas / KvasOK
1L PET from a taproom. Like any other standard cvas - huge burnt sugar sweetness, spicy notes of rye. In case of Cogîlnic, the carbonation is almost flat - that is the only thing that sets it apart. OK, but too sweet.

25-SEP-2017. PET from the brewery. Almost clear deep gold, off-white head. The aroma is full of diacetyl, more like pork fat than butter, must be some yeast in there too. Some malt and grain in the background. The taste plain sugar/malț sweetness. And the there's butter. And the there dioxide. No hops. Not undrinkable, but certainly peculiar. 4-3-4-3-7=2,1

26-APR-2015. PET 50 CL. Golden witl a slight haze, white frothy head. Tons of "rustic" grains and some malts, butterscotch, oily, spicy-bitter and light astringent finish. Oohh... 3-2-4-2-7=1,8

29-OCT-2014. ON TAP. Head: white, small, frothy, poor retention. Colour: golden-amber, slightly hazy. Aroma: weak, grainy, dirty barrel. Taste: thin, yet harsh sulfury, very light bitterness, some CO2 acidity. 3-2-3-1-6=1,5

Thanks, Boystout! Deep golden. The aroma is toasty/buttery. The body is soft with low carbonation. Light diacetyl. Sweetish, not much beer character.

Draft pour thanks to Boystout. Dark gold, not getting that nice fluffy head unfortunately. aroma of butterscotch frosting and late glue, body has a minerally finish that is not altogether offensive and late hops which are nice. As the palate attenuates to the quirks and flaws it becomes better, when rebranded as rusticity, and its nice to try this one

Difficult to find even in Cimislia (the brewery town). Dark amber colour and white fluffy head. Aroma is very soft, yeasty and sweet. The taste of local water is quite evident in the beer: it is soapy soft and marshy. Draught and PET.
