Bottle shared. Slight hazy deep red with light pink head. Lots of sweet red fruits, hay, horse sweat, cow dung, light herbs, soft funky grains. Lots of nice sweet fruits with decent funk thatís maybe a bit too much cow instead of horse. Just medium sweet, light sour and very light bitter. Medium bodied with very fine carbonation.

Bullfrog Nut Brownie Ale
Draft at Bru Craft. Very dark brown/black pour with no head. Clean dark roasty candy malts. Clear chocolate toffee sugar candies. Molasses. Vanilla. Charcoal. Chocolate pudding. Hints of roastier, nuttier notes in the background - but mostly feels like a glass cabinet of a Brown Ale. Glassy but not glossy. Actually quite impressive!

Bullfrog Le Roar Grrrz Framboise
From notes. Enjoyed on draft at Hunahpuís Day 2017 on March 11. The pour is a brighter ruby-red pour with a thin ring of light pink head that falls off pretty quickly. The aroma is pretty good. There is a lovely raspberry going on that I like. Itís tart and crisp with a great sourness. There is a hint of lactic to it, but itís really good. The flavor is much of the same. There is a little more barrel to it, but I like the balance. The tart fruitiness just works so well. The mouth feel is light and crisp with a brighter carbonation and a lingering lactic sour fruitiness about it. Itís not overly complex, but it definitely does whatís needed. I like the simplicity to it.

Bottle care of Frank shared with Bill, Keith, Jon and I at the Evil Genius soft opening. Pours a pinkish color with small head and lacing. Notes of Milk chocolate, hazelnut, cherry, leather and dusty oak. Chocolate covered cherry coke concoction as it warms. Didnít think I would like this one at all, but its really nice considering the adjuncts. Well executed unique grrrz.

Bullfrog Le Roar Grrrz Framboise
Sample courtesy of Jacob. Hazy red pour with a small pinkish white head. Sourdough crackers, cassis, blueberry, yoghurt & light Brett nose. Slightly sour, fruity & buttery taste. Dry, tart & astringent mouth. Fairly nice fruit character ruined by wheat dough & butter. A dud compared to other Bullfrogs Iíve tried. Thought I was drinking blueberry which is interesting. While the berry presence was nice it was a bit weird for blueberries. I guess it being raspberries explains that issue :).

Bullfrog Le Roar Grrrz Framboise
750ml bottle stamped March 2016. Wow what a let down this was for $40 a bottle and the years of hype to finally try. Pours dark ruby red with tiny fizzy pink head. Nose initially has some nice tart fruity berry notes, but itís downhill from there. Mouthfeel is flabby and under carbed. Very little amount of funk complexity for a "lambic" style beer, stale old grains with some subtle raspberry on the palate and bits of wood toast. Very little fruit and very little funk. What fruit is there is covering up the acetone nail polish theyíre trying to hide in the blend. Blindfolded I would have said this was the first attempt experiementing with a sour by some amatuer local brewpub. Nothing offensively bad about this beer, but if youíre bold enough to be charging $40 750ml Iím rating on a curve, you can bet Iíll be expecting a world class brew and this was far from it.

Bullfrog Blue Collar Brown
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark amber close to brown sort of color with a fingerís worth of white foamy head that dissipated appropriately leaving some stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet nutty crispness sliding into some caramel/toffee malts. A touch of paper/woodiness follows in decently. The flavor leans to the sweet side bringing in a subtle toastiness to it. A touch of earthiness follows in. Crisp sweet nutty aftertaste and a quick malty sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt fine. Overall, good brown ale for the most part, willing to come back to.

Bullfrog Oak Aged Old Toad Barleywine
From notes. Enjoyed at the 4th Annual Barleywine Tasting at Nicoleís house on January 28. 750 mL bottle, 2008 vintage. I wonder where the hell someone kept this thing for the last 9 yearsÖ The pour is a darker coppery amber with a thin ring of light khaki head that vanishes pretty quickly. The aroma is really strange. There is a nice oak, a hint of whiskey, some light booziness, and a little bit of grape, or grape skins. Iím not sure where thatís coming from, but itís not awful. The flavor is much of the same. There is a little more caramel and chocolate malt to join the whiskey, oak, and that grape thing. I donít know whatís causing it, but itís different, and it doesnít make me want to vomit. The mouth feel is watery and light with a sharper carbonation and a lingeringly sweet booze with a hint of fruit. This is a very interesting bottle.

Lots of blueberries and red berries, funk, light grassy, some sweet malts and wheat, light mineral, soft sweet yoghurt, strawberry jam. Just medium sweet and sour with a light bitterness. Really nice balance of the sweet and sour on one side, and fruit and funk on the other. Very good.

Bullfrog Le Roar Grrrz Aardbei
750mL bottled 3/25/16, drunk 12/21/16.
Bright, cherry-red body has some deeper auburn hues, a good clarity and a medium-sized, beige and pink-flecked off-white head showing moderate retention.
The nose delivers an immediate wallop of strong, juicy, sweet, rich strawberry and punchy acetic acid. It softens somewhat as lactic and brett acids lighten things, though the sweet element never fully dissipates. Lots of jammy fruits with some light minerality and woolen funk do give slight notions of a lambic but the acidity is still very powerful and messy.
In the flavor itís again powerfully jammy, with intense strawberry sugar hitting you quickly followed by intense acetic acid adding a vinegar-like sour element. Carbonation is low, could be a bit more tight and this really exacerbates the sweet and sour intensity. I applaud how much fruit flavor theyíve pumped in to this thing; for what itís worth, the fruit is very authentic, but this beer is just too messy still. Seems like theyíve brewed this for the long haul. Will have to revisit some time down the road. I will say itís decidedly not terribly lambic-y and just comes off much like an American sour. Rating is to the Lambic style, however, with a little leniency given for its young age.

Thanks Huhzubendah for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing well filtered honey with no head. The nose shows very strong and horse blanket with an old oak barrel. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Lightly tart with a moderately strong oak forwardness and a white wine bitterness on the finish. Lacks enough tartness to really elevate it to a proper gueuze.

Tap. Pours a ear dark brown body with a small tight bubbled beige head. The nose is super cocoa-heavy, with some cherry and dark fruitiness under, it smells excellent. The flavor is like dark chocolate covered sour cherries. Just a little oak and sourness make it past the cocoa and cherry intensity. The finish is all cocoa powder, and it lingers for ever. A great balance between a sour beer, and a holiday special. Medium bodied and a little clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Great stuff.

Bullfrog Old Gold Kriek
Tap. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold to orange body with a minimal wispy white head. The nose is pretty great, super funky and bretty with some oak, sour cherry, and a hint of vinegar. The flavor is a little on the acidic side for me, but thereís still enough brett, cherry, and wood to balance it out and keep it drinkable. Itís not to the level where it creates instant heartburn. The cherry is surprisingly vibrant. I like the fairly heavy oak influence as well. Light bodied, completely dry, with fizzy carbonation. Pretty good stuff. Happy itís on draft instead of in their $30 per bottle lineup.

Tap. Pours a clear gold body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is a bit lemony with some light hoppiness and pale bready malt. The flavor is a bit weird for me, the lemon doesnít seem to pair that well with either the hops or the malt. Reminds me a bit too much of lemon pledge. Light to medium bodied with a slight cling and fizzy carbonation. Iíd take a pass on another round of this one.

Deliciously bitter IPA on tap at Mad Mex Robinson. Aroma was good. Strong grapefruit, pine and notes of Terpentine. Pour was a nice clear bubbly gold with a one finger white head. Taste was like a great old school IPA. Mouth scraping bitter with grapefruit rind, lemon and soap in this the front and a long bitter soapy and hoppy finish. Nice strong carbonation and barely and pesky malt getting in the way of that bitter hop goodness. Fantastic beer
